  1. Scarberry got fired?! Wish I could have seen that! LMAO
  2. Just a side note on AIG. I was visiting a friend of mine last week and he tells me that the reason the fed is falling all over itself to prop up AIG is that they hold the congressional pension fund. :banmolest: I haven't been able to confirm this myself, but it certainly seemed to make sense to me. Of course, I'm a high finance simpleton.
  3. I asked this at work a couple of times, but no one seemed to know. Why were we voting at that local? Not that it really matters, I was just wondering. Nice place btw.
  4. Wow, people bailing outta that place left and right, I wonder why?
  5. The UAW lost the PR wars long ago, if they found the cure for cancer, the general public would still not understand and find fault with it.

  7. My bad if I came down on ya wrong, sorry. Guess it really strikes a chord with me when I think someone is accusing me of being a Mazda original, fired me right up! LOL :happy feet:
  8. Blow it out your ass simpleton, I'm Ford all day long, not as well traveled as some people but I have been to three different plants, and saw the chairmen from time to time on the plant floor. And no I didn't go to any union meetings when I was down there, I was on "B" crew and live over an hour away, I take every minute with my family that I can get, and couldn't be happier to be outta that goofy place.
  9. Having worked in healthcare for some time in the past, I can tell you that the part about what the federal government finds appropriate and cost effective isn't new, that language has been around for a long time.
  10. Unpublished letters! I've been trying to think of what those were called, thanks. I'm wondering the same thing btw.
  11. Never saw the guy other than one meeting in the cafeteria one time, and then he wouldn't answer any questions, just waddled his ass out the door and ignored everyone. BTW, wasn't he the one that gave away the axle shop?
  12. Nope that's not what I was thinking of at all. I just want to know the details of how it is going to work. Using Utica as an example, someone from there knocks out the lowest person in zone, which could be anywhere, and who is keeping track of all this, or is there some loophole that lets them pick and choose plants. This is where I don't trust just reading the highlights. I want to know the workings of this health screening also. Not sure what I originally wrote that got you thinking down those lines, if you have a problem with my not fully trusting the union downtown, well, to bad.
  13. I want to see the actual language in the contract for this and a few other things not the freaking highlights. I just don't trust these people with their goofy highlights and their, "here read this quick and vote." :banmolest:
  14. My bad, I was putting the part in there about the 51-49 trying to head off the people piling on about the "no matter what we vote it'll be 51-49" Guess I should have spelled it all out. I'm not bitching about anything at this point regarding this topic, just asking a question. Sorry to have gotten you so wound up. :shades:
  15. I'm certain everything you've written is true and accurate, but it really is hard for me to believe that anything is actually done correctly at that plant. Good for you guys and your membership, keep up the good work!
  16. So at this point there is no tentative agreement with Ford correct? When there is, will it even be something we vote on? Or is there some back door in the current agreement that will let it slide through without a vote? I know, I know, 51-49 right?
  17. Sounds like nothing has really changed there in years. When I got there the union sucked, while I was there the union sucked outside of maybe one or two people, and now I'm gone and the union still sucks. I can't believe Cindy is still anything in the union there!
  18. That was a thing of beauty!!!! Fox News, (We Decide, Then Report)
  19. I don't know who's telling the truth, I don't know if things are being done correctly, even though it smells fishy, I don't know what to make of it anymore. Having been to a couple of other plants already, I do know that this sort of thing is not special to VD, it goes on everywhere, and it gets old after awhile.
  20. It's not needed, that's what they had us in a meeting for, to tell us that it wasn't needed, and someone had to go.
  21. Afternoons is still a partial crew, and will remain that way after the new people take the postings, then the current employees will be laid off. I don't know anything about the new people and won't make any attempts to gauge there connections or lack of, they are probably just the next people in line to go somewhere, and it appears that Mod invited them to VD. I don't even care about that myself, if we had work for them, but we don't. The way it stands today the current employees on 6FM afternoons are getting laid off, no matter that there are people in the plant below them, and the new people are getting their jobs. I have talked to the union about it, and any conversation that starts with, "Dude, ya gotta understand.........." is over with at that point. Regional said something along the lines of, "that's not right, but what did I care, it's just a TLO until the economy gets better?" Like I said, there are some unhappy campers around VD these days, and not all of the lawyer talk is coming out of 6FM, there is plenty in the back too.
  22. Before I left last friday, there was a lot of chatter on the floor about some people already having lawyers and a class action lawsuit, don't know anything first hand about it, but there are a lot of seriously PO'd people at VD and it sounds like someone is going to try to force the issue this time. Mostly seemed to revolve around the postings for the midrange jobs for the afternoon shift so the new people can have jobs, and the current people will get replaced by the people that just came to the plant last week or so. The midrange people will be laid off regardless of the fact that they are not the lowest people in the plant. I don't know if it is lawsuit worthy or not, but it sure as hell smells fishy. I do know that Mod told us in a meeting that international forced these people on us, and regional says Mod asked for them.
