  1. Democrats across the country are hoping against hope that this is the GOP ticket in 2012 :hysterical2:
  2. Oh for heaven's sake, what a bunch of nonsense, what is this a thread for Jr High students?
  3. When did Ford buy AAI and everything there? I don't recall hearing that. Source?
  4. And then I tell my delegates who I want voted in right? oh wait, or do they vote for whoever they are told to vote for? What a joke.
  5. It's my understanding that much of the plan was in place, but it was DOA before they brought him in. He's an outsider, apparently with a set of brass balls, that could shake up the broken management system in Dearborn, and it appears that he did for the most part. They are second hand news to me, but I have heard stories about the talking heads in Dearborn that tried to bullshit their way past Mullaly, and he shot them down in flames, gave them one chance to get their shit together or they were gone. So it's possible that he's worth the money. I'm sure we could have gotten Wagnor or Nardelli(sp?) cheaper.
  6. Ummm, ok I stopped watching this after the first minute. It was posted last August or so, at which time, there was no "bill" just the usual panic and hype from the far right. Get a grip dude. You should be well informed, we all should, but if all you want to do is regurgitate the Fox News talking points, keep it to yourself.
  7. Fooling around online I managed to get the price up to 23,695 :banmolest:
  8. It doesn't matter anymore which side of the aisle you sit on, call yourself a republican or a democrat, it doesn't matter anymore. Both parties are wholley owned and opereated by big business. I'm surprised anyone can tell them apart anymore. Eight years of that nitwit Bush and his conservative Christian hacks in power, and they spent money like they were trying to out democrat the democrats. All of their right wing rhetoric and tactics has lead us to today. The dems are in charge and feel like they have something to prove, they have to show the republicans how the big boys blow our money. At the end of the day, both of them only do what is in the best interest of their masters, if it happens to have a positive effect on you and me, it was an unintended result. The sad part is that there is no end in sight Go ahead and vote'em out......like that could actually happen.
  9. While analysts agree that Ford has little cost disadvantage with other automakers in the United States because of its failure to win approval for these contract changes, many worry that the lack of strike protection similar to that won by GM and Chrysler will put a target on Ford in the next round of national contract talks. ok......so they didn't really need it, obviously. Now GM can bend it's workforce over and do things to them that are illegal to do to farm animals, and we'll get to keep our dignity.
  10. Here comes the new boss, same as the old boss........... :lastyear:
  11. I have heard that the last nine people that are on ILO from VD will be recalled in a week or two for this.
  12. ****************************************** There's a union there? Must of happened after I left. Your right though, not everyone was brainwashed, but most of them sure were, wow, what a disaster that place was/is.
  13. The International President, International Secretary-Treasurer, International Vice Presidents and International Executive Board Members, shall receive a further three (3) percent increase in base salary effective March 1, 2007 *********************************************************************** This is old news, they did that right after they talked us into giving up our last three percent raise, or maybe it was a bonus check. Either way.....
  14. Taken from the Detroit News today: It is true that Ford had hoped to negotiate a broad "no strike" agreement similar to ones reached with General Motors Co. and Chrysler Group LLC earlier this year. But the Dearborn automaker fell short of that goal. The tentative agreement only limits the union's right to strike in disputes over pay and benefit increases. If Ford tried to cut workers' pay or benefits, they would still be allowed to strike I'm actually wondering if this last part is accurate, can we still strike if they try to take it away? I've asked this before here and can't get an answer. I know this has been argued in the forums before, but I thought I'd try again and see if anyone else has managed to get a satisfactory answer about this.
  15. We have met the enemy, and it is us. Walt Kelly
  16. I'm from the government, and I'm here to help.......
  17. Cap, I hope you are right about this. Unfortunately, I don't trust either of the parties involved in this anymore. I read it the same way you seem to, but it is vague at best which leaves me wondering...........just can't help it anymore.
  18. This is where I start wondering about the unpublished letters, or whatever they are called. It says clearly that we can't strike for "improvements", that seems spelled out well, but what about them taking away from us, can we strike then?
  19. Isn't most of this the same work we've already been promised a couple of contracts in a row? How many times will we let them promise us the same things?
  20. Most of the work that they are "considering" bringing in, wasn't most of that in the last few contracts too? How many times are we going to let Ford promise us the same work? Feels kinda like this ----------------------> :banmolest:
  21. I don't have much if any use for any of them, but there isn't much to choose from anymore. I have been told repeatedly that Vince is huge on this merger with 400, and if that's the case, no way in hell. It did sort of leave me for a lack of words when Vince told me that it was difficult getting back into the swing of working on the floor after 28 years of union duty. I would have asked him about the local 400 thing but at that time I hadn't been told about it.
  22. Is that goofy outfit finally out of the union down there?! I never could figure out how she got there to begin with myself. Good for you guys!
