  1. If your buying a shopping cart on wheels why not buy a Aveo or Rio and save the difference. All three offer the same and in Canada ithe Fit is about $4500 more than the Aveo and Rio. The Fit might be better on gas but what a premium it's going to cost you. It'll sell because it's a Honda but is it really any better at what it does.
  2. How much is GM's market share loss due to the dropping Oldsmobile. I'm not sure what Olds market and yearly sales were before they announced they were dropping them. I think it's safe to assume about 300 000 units. I've also heard that not all of GM's Olds customers bought an other GM make after the division was dropped. I know I won't. I'm sure DC lost some sales from Plymouth as well, having owned both where do I turn to Dodge or Ford, time will tell.
  3. She should of screwed Honda like they screwed her. She should have gone to an other dealer and said she moved to the USA, they they would have to honour the warranty. If this doesn't work get it fixed and they say thanks, put a lein on it I'm not paying for it. My experiece with foreign cars has been wonderful until you have a warranty problem, their worse than the Big Three because they believe thier products are perfect.
  4. I've heard that Ford plans on changing the Zephyr name to MKZ. Anybody who remebers the MK series from the III and up remeber them as 2 door cars(except the short lived MK VI)This I find is a common problem with the Big Three. They keep changing the names of their cars, after awhile nobody knows what the name of a car is. The jap cars keep their same names, we all klnow what an Accord, Camry and Altima are because the've been around for so long. We don't even like the cars but we know who makes them. Here we have Ford spending all this money on advertising the Zephyr only to change the name, I'm sure any one who's bought one would be pissed off. I had a Plymouth Breeze, after I bought it they stopped making them, in Canada this was 1999, so I bought an Olds after this, and guess what they stopped making them. The company thinks people will still buy from them but as GM found out, they lost more than have of their Olds buyers, DC as well. Keeps the names around and improve the cars with each redesign. Currently driving 2003 Windstar Sport
  5. Thanks Jason We've had it a month now and we love it. Everyone warned me that mini vans burn alot more gas but it's costing me about 15-20 dollars a week more. With gas about $3.50+ a gallon in Canada I'd say it's good on gas.
  6. Hi all We just bought a 2003 Windstar SE Sport . These vans are a godsend, lots of power and room in one size. This is our first Ford and we are very happy so far. We were going to buy an extended warranty(3yrs left on factory) but we decided against it because of the remaining factory warranty. It has a 3.8l v6 does any one know the horsepwer and torque ratings for this engine in the Windstar. For what we paid, this is an excellent buy, my work had a fleet of them and swore by them, now they have Freestar's.
  7. I for one agree the 500 is an excellent car. It looks like a big VW Passat which in Canada is a good thing. Everyone I've talked too; that has one, says it's great and powerful car. The only problem everyone has is the horsepower rating,it's 203hp, better than a Carmry's 190hp. It's 0-60 time is more than acceptable and really anywhere I drive you get get to 0-60 in under 20seconds anyways so in real world driving who cares. It's big and comfortable and when driving to Florida from Canada this is the kind of car you want, not a Civic. I always tell me import friends that I don't care that you think your cars are better built, let me back my Oldsmobile or Windstar into your car and lets see who's is better built. And before you import guys say anything I've owned two Japanese cars and one VW. My Civic was a piece of crap and don't understand why people love them, our VW needed a second mortgage taken out on the house to get the thing repaired. Finally came to my senses.
