  1. Furious was it necessary to post such a derogatory letter about our current Chairman for the entire world to see? I have no problem with signed campaign letters you scan but to put that garbage on the INTERNET is going to far. Just keep in mind all International and Ford executives read this web site along with Local and State Government officials. The letter was not signed by the author who wrote it nor did the membership approve of the letter in which it was supposedly signed by. Those in the public do not know better and may assume the entire Local 2000 membership supported the letter. I fully believe the garbage being put on this web site is affecting the sales and security of our unit and plant. Why would anyone want to buy a Ford product after reading Blue Oval News? Think about it this web site is not just a tool for us to use it is also used by a potential Ford Investor or customer. I can guarantee you we are all hurting ourselves and our futures by the non sense being put on this web site.
  2. Is it me or is Nick doing the right thing by not coming onto the floor to do the committeeman's and BC's job. You have representation from the Districts and BC's if they handle business properly you don't need the Chairman and if you do you know how to contact him. I want my Chairman taking care of the business side of things such as getting us a new product and keeping the plant open IN WHICH HE IS DOING. REMEMBER THEY WERE CLOSING OHAP IN A FEW YEARS BUT OUR CHAIRMAN HAS GOT US A NEW PRODUCT AND A NEW BODY SHOP. When ANY chairman comes to floor it should be at the last resort. You want to blame the chairman for everything here's a question what is your rep doing? Are you holding he or she accountable or is everything Nick's fault. You know Nick doesn't exactly have a good structure to work with and he's got two Bc's that completely suck. Mike Donovan is the only BC out of the three Nick can work with and he's in the learning process. I don't care if Jerry or Robert is the chairman they do not belong on the floor. HOLD YOUR REP ACCOUNTABLE FOR THERE ACTIONS NOT THE CHAIRMAN. MAKE THE CHAIRMAN ACCOUNTABLE FOR HIS JOB AND HIS LEADERSHIP BUT NOT FOR PISS POUR REPRESENTATION BY YOUR REP. One more thing if you don't like what's going on SHOW UP AT THE UNION MEETING AND HOLD ALL YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS ACCOUNTABLE NOT JUST THE CHAIRMAN.
  3. If the Union fights to get these people back it would be poor jugdement on there part. If the Union is serious about saving our plant they need let Ford fire these people. If you know any of the people who got caught they don't care about Quality there the ones letting the shit go. I tell you what you could see the ones who think there next sweating bullets. Ford don''t give in this time stick to your guns for once.
  4. Divided, They put out a news letter before vacation stating the week of August 14th we will be laid off. Where are you getting your information?
  5. The Union reps who worked cost night shift people a chance to come in with the dayshift. Night shift people wanted to come in and help days get started. We were told our start time is 3:30 and we could not stay. So why would Union reps work the line if the company chose not to let the night shift people stay?
  6. People just don't get it. After the Union put out a letter on absenteeism, enough people signed out to force Chassis to mass relief after lunch. This is not a good time for people to act like our plant is safe cause they just rebuilt it. The Committeeman were telling people that other plants are trying to get the Econoline and people better start doing there jobs and coming to work so we can have a future at OHAP. After they walked away it was a joke to these people. Whats it going to take for people to understand we are not safe from a plant closing?
  7. All you had to see was how little money they spent to put in the Final Assembley Lines. Since we started building the Econoline back in December the company didn't want to spend a dime. I tell you what, we are going to makes Fords decission easier with the 200 plus AWOLS a day.
  8. Why is it that alot of low seniority people think soliciting the senior people for open jobs is against the contract? I've heard alot of them arguing with the committeeman that the company has the right to assign and they have the right to the jobs. The Union is finally getting around to moving these low seniority out of the gravey jobs they've been doing since January. The people seem to have forgotten the Union said the moves were temporary untill the jobs get bidded out. I think the Union let them get away with it for too long but i'm glad there doing things by seniority.
  9. I tell you what working all that overtime without ergo-matting is going to suck. You would think the union would have already settled that issue. Also why didn't the union order contract books before Lorain came over? What's going on with Group leaders working? Nowhere in our agreement does it say Group leaders will perform repairs. What's going on with plant wide bidding? Again violation of Local and National Agreement. Why did the Union let low seniorty people come with there job and classifications but not everyone is on there job and classification. Why is Nick saying he is fighting to keep everyone working but tried to put 94 sen. people and less in the GEN. Dave M. told me the company won't let him put people in GEN. and he threw a fit. Where is the Bargining Structure during the shift? I haven't seen a Bargining Committeeman at all on the floor. The company is saying we've got to run to save our jobs i say bullshit! We've done everything the company has asked for and it didn't keep the Villager or the Escape here did it. We give them the best and look where it got us! No ergo-matting, water coolers, stop buttons, no cafeteria, less restrooms, no cwig meetings, violation on top of violation with contract issues, no radios, hardly no working phones, etc......

  11. I'll say this whoever is going to stay appointed needs to be notified. All others need to find a job and get back to work. There is no need for so many appointed positions. We need our committeeman on the floor. There is to much B.S. going on and not enough Union reps to take care of it. Time for the Union to stand up to Ford and demand our one rep per 200 people. You cannot have six committeeman before the consolidation and six committeeman after the consolidation. Our plant population went up at least 1400 people. I think our plant population has to be at least 2600 or more does anyone know? Right now we only have 10 elected reps on duty. Using 10 as the number that means we only have 2000 people in the plant? How the hell can that be? Give us the representation our Union dues are paying for!
  12. I'm hearing that the union is going to let people that were in gen bump low seniority people from Lorain( Shift Prefernce). Can anyone confirm that? Also if you have 94 seniority you are going to be takein off your assinged job you had in Lorain and going in a absentee pool. Does anyone know if thats true?
  13. Dirtydeeds you answered your question when you said (the number of committeeman are elected to the number of people they represent). In the local 2000 by laws we elect 20 District Committeeman to cover for alternates and population changes. I know it's hard to accept but the international made the locals hold there elections. And lets not forget about those who lost the MOA they were also told by the international that they couldn't hold there election even though they voted to do so at the Union meeting. I guess all i'm trying to say is this shit is forced on all of us.
  14. We need to fight for our jobs i agree, but you will need representation to do so. We need to force the union to get rid of the appionted reps that we don't need. Your right it's going to get real ugly on the floor once the company expects #'s off the end of the line.
  15. Countin down the days don't take bits and pieces of what i said without explaining what the post i answered was about. The words you quote are the truth you can't bring elected 425 reps into local 2000 and expect to be represented by local 425. You are now apart of local 2000 as is everyone else.
