  1. How are you getting screwed? If you normally get back some cash on your return you will just be getting a little less. If you normally owe then just put the amount you figure is needed to pay uncle sam under your mattress.
  2. Subpay was direct deposited today for me. One week exactly after getting a UI debit deposit. Looks like it will be smooth sailing from now on.
  3. We were working four tens on 3 shifts before the cut and layoff. Why can't we work four tens when we go back? :shrug:
  4. I live in Michigan and am disturbed by the large volume of foreign vehicles I see on the road. I work for Ford so I might be a little biased toward buying American owned Car companies vehicles but even if I did not have a vested interest in the Michigan based companies it would probally still be in my best interest to buy a vehicle that helps support my states/countries economy in a big way. I know that people in the past were bummed out by the quality issues with the once Big Three but times have changed and quality is much better. How would it affect Michigan or even other states if the Michigan based American companies went under? I myself would try to support my state or country even if that meant that I might have to visit the repair shop more than if I bought a vehicle that is foreign and that is giving a good chunk of their profits to their own economy. Face it America is still just a big melting pot of people that do not for the most part have the loyalty that some smaller nations have. The Japanese probally are laughing all the way to the bank thanking their god or gods that they have found such a rich nation of non loyal consumers to milk.
  5. What plant are you from? DTP workers could not call untill this week.
  6. Well the deadline has passed and I decided to stay at DTP. No one knows how things will turn out in the long run for each plant and at least I like where I am working so I might as well just stick it out. Thanks for all the replies and good luck to all. :beerchug:
  7. DTP or WAP/ISA . DTP is a nice new air cooled plant but will it sustain two shifts? Going back to a old dirty hot plant dose not sound inviting but the work is going to be steady for quiete a while. In the long run though is DTP still the safest place to be? I know no one has a crystal ball answer but I am just curious to hear what some others are thinking.

  9. LAP are getting Euro cars as well as MTP. I heard the Explorer is going to CAP. So either LAP or MTP will get the next Focus. Once the production starts for the new Focus the current Focus will end. What will WAP get tooled up for? If nothing then because of their local 900 agreement all the people that have the seniority will bump out MTP workers. Hope it does not happen but it could. Will Ford's wallet be stretched a little to thin to sink any more cash into a plant that some say is not the most structurely advantageous?
  10. The guy that started this thread is not on ILO right now so unless DTP goes down to I shift he should be alright. Does anyone think that DTP is going to go to one shift?
  11. Retooled for what vehicle? LAP people are saying they are getting the next Focus.
  12. A superviser and committee man at DTP both told me that the F100 project has been shelved for now. :shrug:

  14. I have heard that if WAP retools for anything it will take many months. How can they flood the market if they can not keep up with demand? Then again with the Fiesta coming and other Euro vehicles I guess there will be a dip in Focus sales by then. :shrug:
  15. According to who? If so how will Ford supply the Focus to the public when WAP goes down for months of retooling?

  17. Two shifts at DTP and one at Kansas equates to about 25,000 trucks per month. Is this too many for the market and if so besides typical down weeks what other measures might be taken to reduce inventory. Does DTP loose another shift or does Kansas give up their work to DTP?
  18. Does anyone have any info on what will happen to WAP when they stop building the current Focus. If WAP gets idled will ISA keep working and will WAP workers be able to bump out Stamping /ISA workers if this happens.
  19. I got a call today from my plant (DTP) and was told that the new cutoff date for signing up for other plants will 3pm 8/6/08 . Can you sign up for more than one facility, and if you can will they be put in order of preference? Will people who went to DTP from last years shift cut at MTP have any more rights than others when it comes time to choose since WAP and MTP are the same Local (900) ?
  20. So now that we know that MTP is going to be building cars who will build the F100? DTP?
  21. There was no mention of the F100 with Ford's announcement today. Any speculation of where or when it will be built?
  22. How do you know that the local 600 leaders are not talking with the company? It looks like DTP is going to be the only plant building F150's and since MTP is not going to be getting the F100 it looks like DTP will probally be getting them. What else do you want to throw in the mix?
  23. He might be right about the F100 going to DTP. I work there and my sources tell me it will happen. We will know soon.
  24. Just got my subpay stub for deposit on 7/21. C crew. I've heard sub will come a little quicker since we are not going to be claiming anymore sundays.
