  1. http://money.cnn.com/2015/04/28/technology/google-perks/index.html?iid=HP_LN Google has been supporting Toyota for years!! If Ford would advertise their fuel efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles, maybe people would look at Ford instead of assuming that Toyota is the only auto company capable of producing a hybrid or electric car! I realize that trucks make money, and small cars have very little profit, but why not advertise what you build??
  2. I keep thinking there must be a reason for running 3 crews at MAP, but I am not sure what it could be! It must be very profitable to run MAP 9 months out of the year and pay us to stay home the other 3 months! Isn't this one of the problems that got the auto companies in trouble a few years ago.....too many employees?
  3. Higher seniority has transfer rights. It just makes no sense to hire off the street when you have a surplus of employees. Ford is falling back into it's old ways, too many employees was a problem in the past, and it will be a problem once again!
  4. Ford has many more employees than they need at MAP, which is why we are laid off quite often, but they are hiring?? MAP does not need three shifts, so why not utilize the employees they already have??
  5. I know people at Wood haven that made well over $100,000. They force 3 shifts on our plant and lay us off 3+ months a year!
  6. Next contract should read every employee gets the same amount across the board! Bullshit parts plants "work" unlimited O.T. while the people making the freaking cars barely make ends meet! Same amount of profit sharing for everyone!
  7. There isn't even a pay stub on the at.ford site? Maybe it will be deposited tomorrow?
  8. How long did c crew go tonight?
  9. No work for A crew tomorrow, wait for robo call.
  10. Looks like Ford is going to have to put this flexible plant to use and add a new product. Why are there several different vehicles made off of the Focus platform, but the most flexible assembly plant sits idle for months out of the year??
  11. So, I wonder when Ford plans on telling us about these lay offs? Also, how long can this plant run 2 weeks on 2 weeks off? What is the point of 3 shifts if the plant is shut down every 2 weeks? They have to be drowning in 2014 Focuses and are in no hurry to roll out the 2015's until some of the 2014's are cleared out.
  12. That is what I thought. So if the problem is sales, I wonder if there are any plans to get rid of the 3rd shift?
  13. A committee man said that the week of January 5th was a lay off week, as well as a week in February and March. BUT my real question is why MAP is running 3 shifts and has tons of down time. Is it a shortage of parts of just falling sales?
  14. So with the numerous downtime weeks and more scheduled for the first of the year, does anyone know why MAP is still running 3 shifts? Are layoffs due to slow sales or lack of parts?
