  1. I was wondering, if a person takes a 35K buyout with full (30 years) pension, do they get any pension raises negoiated in the next contract? What does the union expect for retirees in the next contract? Would it be worthwhile to wait and retire under the new agreement or take a buyout now?
  2. How about adding the new Ranger (or whatever they want to call it) to LAP's production. Explorer, Mountaineer, & Sport Tracs production numbers could be adjusted according to sales. Maybe even add a 3rd production shift if needed. KTP another UAW 862 plant already runs the bonus shift. After all, LAP is the original home of the Ranger and all production facilities could handle that or a slightly larger vehicle.
  3. I ask the readers of this forum this question. Has anyone ever in all their years at FORD ever seen a Plant Manager come out and stop production. I mean come out and say, "this shit stops right here right now." I know in my 29 years I've never seen it and until I do I'll never buy that quality BS they put out in Dearborn. Want to know what they think of the customer? Just have a warranty problem and see how fast the district office gets it resolved to the customer's satisfaction. Without law suit threats they'll stonewall hoping the customer just gives up and FORD has lost another buyer for life.
  4. Howie, you are so right. Quality is everything until it interfers with numbers. Then the answer is, "they'll catch out in the shop". Same as in 80's and 90's. Numbers off the line is what counts. Never let Dearborn know there's any problems. My performance review will be affected if my plant has problems. Just ship it on to the next guy.
  5. Nobody that I know of at LAP has received anything.
  6. Any chance the Ranger production could be moved to Louisville? The Ranger was originally built in Lou. and I believe the skids would be compatible with Exp/Mtn and the Sport Track. Paint and ASRS would be similar to existing models. If more numbers were needed a 3rd shift could be added similar to KTP. A 3rd shift would also allow many to transfer. All we'd need is a Ranger body shop.
