  1. Good observation and a great comment, still does not alter the facts presented in the link. Or did you get that far.
  2. great idea, and while your at it, how about YOU give back that extra 20 or so bucks an hour that the CAW managed to get you paid, because if you worked anywhere else you would NEVER have made wages like you have made, thanks to them. Your Dues were also tax deductible. And the CAW does offer preferred hiring WHEN THERE ARE OPENINGS. If the dues are all you want back, then take them out of your vehicle voucher and we can call it even.
  3. You do realize that in almost every other company in the WORLD, when a plant is closed for whatever reason, that the emplyees are NOT entitled to """BUYOUTS" of any type. READ THIS ONTARIO LABOUR LAW So Ford could have paid you the minimum severance as defined by the the LAW and just said see ya. It sucks that anyone lost their job but it happens every day and if you worked ANYWHERE ELSE you would know the reality.
  4. Everyone does have the right to speak, but for how long?? Get up ask a question or 2 and sit down. If everyone took a turn trying to make a name for herself/himself we would still be there. 2 minutes at 1000 attendees adds up to 33 hours, not counting time for a response. We were there to vote on a contract not to promote ourselves
  5. Not being a dick, I was off for the last month....it'll take awhile for ALL the facts to come out.
  6. And what was the % at your plant CAW Local 1520, St. Thomas Production: 80% in favour Skilled Trades: 81% in favour Combined total: 80% in favour
  7. Don't you remember from the ratification vote? You were there, right???
  8. Buyouts will not trigger any increase in Trades. Not in the foreseeable future.
  9. Thanks from those of us who are.
  10. Good one, I still would just as soon not be the "blower"
  11. If they move your work somewhere else, where are you going to strike? More importantly would anyone care? Besides our union sistersand brothers
  12. That won't be a possibility for quite awhile..
  13. We already have an idea what those numbers will be. Rough Idea
  14. What? you don't believe in the mythical 3rd shift?? Remember we had it for the Freestar.....oh wait, never happened, ok ok we had it for the Edge Flex MKX..........., oh wait, that NEVER HAPPENED either. Shit we are 0 for 2 so far. This new platform will rear it's ugly head just in time for the NEXT set of negotiations, talk about getting mileage out of a few words. Nice. See you at the meeting
  15. :hyper: See you all on Sunday.....Vote YES......probably....maybe
  16. Game, set and MATCH!!! We squabble amongst ourselves while the various politcos are driving the economy into the abyss.
  17. We were working up to 300,000 units a year we are probably at 50% of that now........with a 1000 less people, unless you count the (CAW) Automodular plants. All fine CAW dues paying members. This deal was done weeks ago, we were waiting for the UAW to vote and then we were allowed to speak. Nice.
  18. I beleive that all geocities hosted sites are gone, or going soon.
  19. Dingy, we have a thing called "NO STRIKE NO LOCKOUT" proviso in our contract.
  20. Canada is waiting to see what the UAW and Ford deal is going to be and then we {CAW} will get what's left. So relax and wait for the "other" footprint to drop.
  21. I know what a parody is....and your post is no parody, what exactly were you spoofing?
