  1. OAC will be getting a new vehicle, check it out here.....it's Called the Vertrek Concept. It looks a lot like the Edge so i'm guessing it will be built in Oakville. http://autos.sympatico.ca/detroit-autoshow-2011/7402/2011-ford-vertrek-concept
  2. Is anyone else hearing that the week of November 22 - 26 will be 4 hour shifts can anyone confirm this? Its due to part shortage. if so what part is it?
  3. has anyone heard about any call backs??? now that we are back on 10 hrs??? :reading:
  4. HEY WHERE DID EVERYONE GO? WHAT NO REPLYS FOR A WHILE? WHATS UP ANY NEWS? WHAT ARE THE HOURS FOR NEXT WEEK NOV. 16 - 20.
  5. heard they called back 25 people today for Monday its good to have you brothers and sisters back hopefully you will stay and things get better sales have been going up market-share also lets go Ford! :shades: :happy feet:
  6. Heard there will be Layoffs this week , 29 People. Not very good news especially now that summer is coming and many people will be taking there vacations makes no sense, lets hope they are all back asap.
  7. Is this true ??? Dang im gonna miss him, i'd say he is the best Plant Manager that i have seen. You can talk to him about anything and he always listens. Thats why the workers at OAC do great work, it starts with the Plant Manager Down and when he has respect for you to take the time and listen to what you have to say. You will show him respect back by giving 100% everyday. I sure hope he stays!, if not i wish him the best and hopefully we will get someone just as great as Ken. By the way where is LAP?
  8. Look who is talking! You don't know everything either. I know first hand what its like, most high school teachers teach 3 classes in a single day at 70 minutes each that is 210 minutes of teaching which is 3 1/2 hours a day times 5 days = 17.5 hours which leaves 22.5 hours of lesson planning and marking, they get paid for their lesson planning and marking which is done at home or at school after hours, most teachers are done there planning and marking in 2 1/2 hours. 6 hours of work a day. Also don't forget the sick days, which they are entitled to 15 a year, which is equal to another 3 weeks of holidays and believe me they use them even if they are not sick. Sure they volunteer and other shit but they do get paid a hefty amount so they should stop their crying about class sizes etc. on the other hand auto workers don't get paid for sick days and they work even harder than most teachers if not all of them. Also i think teachers with 10 years make over 75 000 a year or more thats more than an auto worker without overtime.
  9. Ed you have to stop being so selfish this is a union here and we have to do what's best for everyone in the plant not just for you. You have to remember when you were a junior member those senior works stuck up for you thats why we have what we have today. So stop being so "Greedy" its not me me me for the junior members its me me me for you only and maybe "trimdingbat" but anyway either your in the union as a whole or your not. have you ever heard of the saying that "We are only as strong as the weakest link in the chain" well your the weakest link so either become stronger and stay united or you should have taken the package and quit! ill be 1 of the 3349 and it wont be hard to find many more.
  10. 9427 vehicles over how much time ??????
  11. Well said samfan is the thread up and running yet i would like to go there instead of listening to the damn cola trimdingbat lost what a moron. people will get laid-off and the greedy "sob" is complaining about the f#$%king cola get a life or better yet go and retire.
  12. you know i see a lot of people with the bumper stickers on their vehicles that say "OUT OF A JOB YET? KEEP BUYING FOREIGN! There should be new ones for some of those folks who can barely walk or are about 4 or 5 years away from retiring but wont like Trimdingbat it should read " SAVE A JOB! TAKE THE PACKAGE"
  13. Hey Trim Ding-Bat, take the package and give some of the younger generation a chance to keep their jobs its time for you to move on. You are complaining about the cola that you lost. Take the package its more money than the f#@$ing cola and get a better life than crying about some small cents that you lost. Does that make "cents" to you or do you need an economist to help you out. People might be getting laid off and you keep talking about the lost cola, get a life & STFU, stay off this site so we can get information on what is going on in the plant!! Now, Does anyone know the number of people who are taking the package so far ????? trimdigbat ------->
  14. I live on the East Mountain in Hamilton and also work in Body 1, I start work at 8 am when on days and i leave home between 6:50 am and 7:00 am and i grab a coffee at Tims and im at the plant by 7:30 - 7:35 am not bad. I take the Link towards QEW and go over the skyway it is a lot faster than going west to the 403. As long as there is no accidents you should be ok. Also the House prices are a lot cheaper on the East Mountain than the West Mountain and Ancaster. Hope this helps.
