  1. Look I will be effected by this as well, but if the shoe was on the other foot I would be jumping for joy. The bottom line for you my friend is unions are to protect our jobs which it looks like they are doing, and I will be glad to work with some of my union brothers again. If you don't like it QUIT! and go work for a non-union SCAB SHOP.
  2. What great union brothers we can look forward to working with in KC. I have not got that call.
  3. I also got a call to report on 6-16 at 8am to KC
  4. add 2 toolmakers to that list. you are correct the welder did not take the buy-out. St.Louis has left 7-pipefitters 3-millwrights 2-tinners 2-industrial truck mechanics 2-toolmakers 1-welder all waiting for transfers to KC i believe
  5. the production people will be waiting along time to get thoes welding jobs when there are welders on lay-off and in gen.
  6. what will happen to the welders? they are protected (red circled) they will continue to perform their job till they retire or quit. according to COA agreements that have been implemented in to the plants that have them. what will they do with the welders that are effected by the plant closings, and are not protected by the COA agreement. will they just be let go? any ideas? any welders gone through this yet?
  7. will they be replacing the welders at your plant? how many welders do you have?
  8. i didnt see any welders on the list that was posted. how many signed up? will they be replaced or COA-ed out of the picture?
  9. do you have any updated information on this.
  10. ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
  11. you have to read the last post titled skilled trades but outs its a lot of talk of ibew cards and such. I think the number of trades signed up at the kansas city plant is the point 3 welders 5 millwrights 6 pipefitters and some unknown number of electricians.and if they were going to replace the welding tradesmen that leave. This is as close as I can translate. In my opinion this means nothing they have almost a month to sign up and can pull their papers at anytime. It is nice to hear they will replace the welders. If this info is correct.
  12. do they want to eliminate welders in your plant?
  13. I hate to hear that a trade will be given up,but I agree
  14. I just wonder if they will be replaced when they retire buy-out or what ever? If I were a gambler I would say not. I hear that K.C. will have 2-3 taking packages this time around.
