  1. I haven't personally heard of an effort to get the EB3.5L in MKZ, though that's not to say it won't happen. I know there are Fusion ST mules fitted with that engine, however.

Oh. I thought you meant 3rd EB engine for Ford overall, that's why I listed the 1.6L EB from the Fusion. If you're talking about just for CD4 then it's the 3rd one.

  2. And the benefits of waiting might have changed, I can't say since I've been out of the purchasing market for the last 6yrs.

What changed is that Ford is no longer overproducing vehicles so you don't end up with that end of model year glut that requires huge incentives to get off the lots. You might get lucky and find a straggler here or there with larger than normal incentives but it's nothing like it used to be.

  3. Possibly, but Fleet sales will be used to create an aura of success in overall sales of the new ride and rental car companies will want a luxury ride without all the high end bustle that comes with a more powerful engine. In their eyes 202 HP is plenty for a car of this size....

I guess it would serve both purposes.

  4. I have A plan pricing. My brother is at OAC.

"A" plan is slightely better than the "employee pricing" out there now.

Order was placed before end of May. So I got to bundle all the offers available.

Everything I've seen says "employee pricing" is the A plan price, although it typically replaces other incentives, especially rebates. So actual A plan plus rebates might be better than "employee pricing" without rebates or with reduced rebates.

  5. I too am a gun owner and not a member of the NRA, however I support their efforts to protect gun ownership of Americans....so for you to say that most gun owners don't support the NRA is your opinion......Most liberals support freedom of choice when it comes to abortion but very few donate to planned parenthood...that's why pp needs so much of our tax dollars......obviously you can't know if a gun owner supports the NRA or not...if you can, send me some lottery numbers......opinions should be stated as such...assuptions are not facts!

I think support in this context meant NRA membership.

  6. It will be interesting to see how it competes performance wise with the MkZ. If the ATS is lighter then it should have an advantage, otherwise the specs seem virtually identical except for the non-AWD models driven wheels.

The styling is decent inside and out but all those "BMW 3 fighter" comments are going to come back to haunt them with every road test.

  7. You had a defective tranny and your dealer refused to acknowledge it and you refused to go to another dealer. Then you went out and bought a Corolla and proclaimed it the best vehicle ever. Then because you had problems you start telling everyone that all Focus' have tranny problems. They don't. I own one. Other people here own one. They're not defective and with the latest software there have been NO complaints that I've seen or heard of.

Get over it already or be labeled accordingly.

  8. Just because you get more from another dealer for your trade-in doesn't mean you were getting "low-balled" per se. When a dealer takes a trade-in they're either wholesaling it at auction in which case they'll only give you black book or they may decide they can sell it on their lot and give you a little more, but it's still going to be wholesale.

Now let's say your local dealer already has several similar Edges in stock or they just aren't selling many with your color and/or options........they have to offer you less or they risk losing money on the deal. Another dealer may be a totally different situation with inventory and sales history. Prices can also vary from week to week and month to month as the overall market and supply changes.

  9. I know many Ford Employees that have boats that weight 3500/4000lbs and are stuck with nothing from Ford to buy to tow them, they don't want F-150's or even an Explorer as they are to big. The Grand Cherokee is a great product -- and the 2014 should keep that up with the 8-speed trans and new Diesel. One really nice thing with the Grand Cherokee is that the Glass and the hatch open separate.

Is an Explorer that much bigger than a Grand Cherokee?

  10. Lemon law I would think only applies if issue is severe and can't be fixed after repeated tries. It's like dealer and manufacturer finally threw their hands up and said we can't remedy your problem or problems. And I would think it would have to be a safety issue like stalling in traffic or overly mushy brakes that extend stopping distances, severe driveability problems, and the such. Or an oil leak that can't be fixed for some reason and leaves spotting wherever you go and constant dipstick or trans checking. Lemon laws are for severe, vexing problems, not even many, minor problems easily fixable and solved quickly.

Nope. Any problem that occurs repeatedly or multiple visits for different problems usually triggers a lemon law buyback (although this varies by state). It doesn't have to be a major issue or a safety issue.

  11. Ed - all you seem to be able to do is call people names in a derogatory manner, accuse conservatives of wanting to kill poor people and complain about the current state of affairs.

Why don't you elaborate on what you would fix and how you would fix it because whining about something doesn't help.

Conservatives believe that most of the "poor" people are poor by choice because they're too lazy to work or they're not willing to put forth the effort to obtain higher education or training to get higher paying jobs. These people will do the bare minimum required of them to get by. If you take away public assistance then they'll go find a job.

I do agree that unemployment insurance is good but I also agree that many people abuse it by not looking for a job right away. That's just common sense. Many people would rather sit at home and collect a check for not working given a choice.

  12. I'm not sure what you mean, but I preordered my 2012 Focus last year, and didn't tell them I had an X-plan until after the order had went through(but well before delivery).

The rules clearly say that you must tell the salesperson immediately if you plan to use x plan. That said, most dealers won't care. The exception might be if you negotiate a retail sale with a higher than normal trade-in value, then try to switch it to Xplan but keep the same trade-in value. That won't work and isn't fair to the dealer.

  13. I was surfing the build and price on ford.ca and noticed before we don't get all the variants of the vehicles the US does. The 2013 Taurus Limited is only available in AWD as was the 2010-12 Fusion Sport for example.

So I wasn't surprised to see the Fusion Titanium is only in AWD here. I don't care myself, I figured a FWD with ESC would suffice for most applications. A general 1 mpg penalty in FE between FWD/AWD is largely academic IMO.

For the Focus, the Titanium sedan is no longer availible at this time. I am surprised because it's a sharp looker. Perhaps demand for the hatchback is larger. I'm sure if people pipe up maybe we'll see trim levels come to Canada but there has to be a lot of folks with cash in hand.

I built and priced a Focus ST and fully loaded in BC is $35-36ish. THAT is the sweet spot and in the same range as it's competition. I can't wait to see it in person. Maybe in a couple of years, I'll get my hands on one. :)

Nothing new. Canada used to get cloth heated seat options on limited models that we never got in the U.S.

When the Lincoln LS was MCEd in 2003 they had 4 vehicles - V6 and V8, Sport and Non Sport. They decided at the last minute to drop the V6 Sport and V8 non sport from the U.S. but you could still get them in Canada.

Not sure why it's different other than - it can be.
