  1. akirby's post in 2010 Rust though was marked as the answer
He's saying they were rusting from the inside out. In that case you wouldn't see the rust until it came through the top of the rocker panel. And you can't see inside the rocker like you could see the inside of the wheel well e.g.

Sounds perfectly plausible to me - just not sure what caused it since it seems to be an isolated case.

You'll have to run the hvac in manual mode - just select the vent position and adjust the fan to your liking and it will stay that way.
  3. akirby's post in 2007 Fusion can awd operate as fwd only? was marked as the answer
Yep. The PTU sends power to the rear differential all the time. There is a clutch in the rear differential that's electronically engaged to spin the rear wheels. It uses wheel speed sensors, yaw sensors, steering angle, throttle, etc to determine when to engage it - sometimes before slip occurs.

You're thinking of the old slip based haldex system which was mechanical.

It's possible. Ford has used Hankooks on several vehicles.

Yes, you can just swap the visor. I added the transceiver to my 06 Fusion visor - it's all self-contained and you just need power.
  7. akirby's post in Trading in old Fusion and getting new Fusion in different provinces was marked as the answer
You'll probably get just as much doing a private "fire-sale" as you would on a dealer trade-in. Trade-ins are wholesale but dealers will often play games with the price on the new car to make you think you're getting a better deal than you are.

There is no reason to ship it. Find a dealer to buy it. CarMax will do that in the states. Take it to a used car dealer if necessary. Just remember that even if you get a lower amount you're saving $1300 in shipping.

Then just buy the new one when you get to Vancouver.
  8. akirby's post in Lock function for push button start was marked as the answer
If you have the fob in your pocket you should be able to lock the vehicle by pressing the lock button on the outside of the door handle. To unlock it you touch the inside of the door handle. If that's not working take it to the dealer.
  9. akirby's post in automatic transaxle manual shifting on 2014 Taurus was marked as the answer
When you move it to S it doesn't go into auto-manual mode - it's still shifting automatically just with a higher shift point and more aggressive downshifting. When you manually upshift or downshift that puts it into manual mode so you get the gear display.
