  1. Problem with that is I was the team leader. I lost track of most every supervisor, and for the most part I think they just need verification that I worked there
  2. I used to work at SLAP now when I go job hunting and they ask for former employer contact number I have no idea who they should contact, does anybody know?
  3. Saint Louis Assembly, may it rest in peace
  4. Well today is my last day being a Ford employee I look back at the last 12 years and wonder where they went. I have a job lined up at a brand new ethanol plant in Sauget, IL. it wont't start up till the end of Oct, so I will have a little time to get ready and get my crops out on my farm. So to all my former employees keep up the good work and have a good life
  5. why would they idle wayne and lose focus production when they can retool an already idled plant like slap which is already mostly stripped or atlanta
  6. I keep hearing about all these new vehicles that Ford is going to build but who will have room after all the plants that are on the hit list have been closed. Would it be cheaper to reopen a plant instead of adding on to an existing plant? At what percent are the plants running at now?
  7. The international website that I visit was talking about a hook up between Fiat who owns the old international tractor company and navi star who is the parent company of the company that makes the wonderful powerstroke engine now imagine what would happen if Ford got into that mix
  8. Acouple of weeks ago when I signed up for the buy out I was allowed to take a quick tour of the plant floor I was told that alot of the stuff was shipped off to south america but any plant could have what was left. SLAP used to be a flex plant we built unibody (areostar) with the BOF Explorer was told we were the only plant in the world at the time that was capable of doing this.
  9. Why would they move it to slap as mentioned in the article instead of leaving it where it is. slap is already idled don't know if motor trend knows this yet.
  10. Received a call today they are opening up buy outs for the people in gen at slap. Has anybody else received new buyout offers?
  11. SLAP had their meeting yesterday to discuss the buyout packages and the international union rep told us that in the next contract he expects Ford will only have to offer you so many job offers before you are let go. He would not say if this was his opinion or the unions. If it was his opinion I thought he should have kept his mouth shut on the issue. If it is the unions stance on GEN even before talks begin then they need to be tarred and feathered. The reason GEN was created was to make outsourcing our jobs to expensive. Now that Ford decideds to build them in Mexico anyway Interanational gets on its knees and asks if they should swllow of if its ok to spit.
