  1. Why the hell do I want to go to Indy? Im in Sunny Tampa, Florida! 70 degrees! If I feel like it, I'll PM you a pic of the Tribune in the morning while I'm on the beach! Yes, that will be my middle finger in the pic as well! Btv to Shv
  2. I think you need to hit that spell check before you post, also I have read that the Fiesta will be a $14,000 car loaded. So, learn to spell and then do your research! Btv to Shv
  3. All the UAW represented companies would love to see the strike fund depleted. If that were gone, you better believe that they would love to have the UAW strike them and the UAW had nothing to give the workers, so the companies would just wait it out or just use permenant replacements. Ask John Deere workers about those permenant replacements! As for the Union Hall being filled up now at the regular meetings, NAH! Aint gonna happen! Most are too sorry and lazy to give 1-3 hours out of their life to attend. I remember when you couldnt get a seat at a meeting. Not you cant fill 20 of them even if you bribed people to be there! 4. If you were in JSP or receiving SUB ,then you were paying Dues outta your SUB check, so you would still be on the regular dues paying schedule. The only way you stop paying dues is to quit receiving some sort of income from Ford. BTV to SHV
  5. This isnt fear mongering! This is reality! Look North: The CAW is salavating at the chance to get work for the Windsor and St. Thomas Plants. CAW emphasizes importance of new Ford contract as negotiations resume. I have nothing against those in Canada, but we need to take care of our own backyard with a Yes vote from the remaining plants that havent voted yet. I understand why KCAP voted NO if the KUGA is the Escape replacement, but the Kuga being built at LAP is for export only and KCAP will build the US version. Sharonville, Romeo Engine, OHAP, Lima, Walton Hills, AAI, Cleveland will all be either reduced capacity if not closed beyond 2013. Look south, you better believe that vendors in mexico are willing and able to make more engine and transmission components if not the whole thing. Ever hear of Getrag, Aisin or the dreaded ZF? All can make and have made tranmissions and parts for Ford. Look far, far east! You better believe China, Thailand and even Korea are looking at making engines and stampings becuse of the relaxed enviromental laws. Keep voting no, then you'll have your hat in your hand at the 2011 negotiations begging for work as your plant is negotiating a closure agreement! BTV to SHV Transferee
  6. Its one thing to sit here behind the keyboard, you can be who you want to be, but to make statement to the press and be spineless and not back it up it is totally different! Btv to Shv
  7. If you all think the election is rigged, then break out that spine and put your money where your mouth is! File an NLRB charge and objection to the voting! Be DAMN sure you can prove any irregularities or the NLRB will charge YOU! When you make the charge, you say the election committee aint worth a damn and you have no faith in them. You have to make personal accusations against the committee, not the elected or appointed local officers. The election committee is the ones your making the accusations against, not the IUAW either! You have to have physical proof, not hear say or what you might think! Be careful, you might get what you wish for! Btv to Shv
  8. "Most everyone I talked to voted no," said one worker, who asked not to be identified. I thought this big VOTE NO campaign was about those that STOOD UP and was putting their money were their mouth was???? Now all the sudden they want to say they voted no but wont put a name to to it! Talk about spine-less!! Btv to Shv
  9. And your problem with my signature line is ????????? Btv to Shv
  10. HMMMMMMMM! In a thread I started today A Retiree's Opinion, I said "Romeo, Lima, Cleveland, Sharonville, OHAP, Louisville and several former ACH plants in SE Michigan really, really will be the victors here (possibly Sandusky too) if this passes". Looks like it's starting to see some 'light-of-day' to what I had said! Also, the Transit Connect will probably be built in the US, in Twin Cities. Twin Cities has only 300 full time Ford employees and almost double 'temps' they want to make 'Full time 2nd Tier'? They will make money hand over fist and the stock price will double if that plant has a majority at 2nd tier making a van for export! That van will be for export also because of the falling dollar. Why do you think Toy'motor' wants to beef up production here in the US also? You might ask ,what's in it for OHAP? I'll do some more digging, but I think OHAP will be happy also! Vote YES! Btv to Shv
  11. Now I can agree with Dale143 about this! It does need to be clear and ambiguous language! Btv to Shv
  12. My friend, that would be illegal since the Strike Fund is not only funded by autoworkers, but also nurses, casino workers, John Deere, New Holland, Harley Davidson and the countless other facilities that are UAW represented. What they can do with the strike fund is divert some of the monies and use them for collective bargaining purposes, aka organizing. If you have a big issue with it, then file a NLRB charge! I dont know why almost everyone on BON seems to think the strike fund belongs only to Ford workers or the Big 3? I just dont get it! Btv to Shv
  13. I dont know the folks in question up there in Michigan, but it seems as if they are playing politics with the media. They can have a quote in the paper saying they are voting this down, but how they actually vote, know one knows but them and the ballot box. They are trying to garner re-election votes as if they have 'Stood Up' to the company. If this fails and the layoffs come, then will he still look like a hero? Better think about this! Btv to Shv
  14. Hello All, I am a retiree from the Sharonville Transmission Plant. I have read the new modifications. I have had the whole thing explained to me. I couldnt make it to the Local meeting on Wednesday, but from what I'm told only about 250 between 3 shifts bothered to show up. (250 out of 1600) First of all, the VEBA wasnt touched and I thank the IUAW for that. Jan 1, 2010, I'll then be on VEBA! YES, In March of this year, the INTL gave up COLA, but that was going to be lost anyway because of the math equation used for COLA and the actual cost of living had gone down by $.99, COLA was at $1.03 with a $.05 defferment to VEBA anyway, so you wasnt getting COLA. But COLA has been suspendid and if the cost of living goes back up, you will be missing COLA, at least until Sept 2011. YES, in March of this year the INTL suspended JSP (GEN). YES, in March of this year the INTL suspended ETAP YES, in March of this year the INTL suspended NVRAP for those on layoff (although that has been re-implemented) YES, in March of this year the INTL suspended the Day after Easter holiday YES, in March of this year the INTL suspended the Christmas Bonus YES, in March of this year the INTL suspended any and all profit sharing bonus's YES, in March the INTL agreement saved the company $500 million a year with the above cuts. Yes, in March the INTL did get TAP for those on ILO and the company did comeback to the INTL to take it back and the INTL told them NO! I was alot concerened about the 'No Strike' clause. That 'No Strike' clause, if you actually read it says that the UAW wont strike over wage IMPROVEMENTS or gains or raises, whatever you want to call it. The UAW can strike if the company tries to reduce wages. This is a one time thing also in 2011, this wont carried be over to 2015. If the UAW asks for a 4% raise and the company counter offers a 1% raise and neither can agree then off to the arbitrator. The arbitrator looks at the offer the company has made at 1% and at the request of 4% that the UAW has made. You will get at least the 1% because that is where the arbitrator has to start. The arbitrator then has to decide if anything above the 1% is awarded to the UAW. In this current modification, show me anywhere it takes money out of your pocket? Show me anywhere it takes jobs away? Some stuff in this agreement, Ford CAN NOT say publicly about because of other vendor contracts would be violated and early next year, those contracts end and Ford will be making those vendor parts back in Ford facilities, where they belong! Money was taken from you in March, but not this time! Read it, then read it again! Go to your meetings and ask the questions, dont let those here on BON make a decision for you. There are those that are stuck in 1965 and they refuse to catch up to the modern times! Romeo, Lima, Cleveland, Sharonville, OHAP, Louisville and several former ACH plants in SE Michigan really, really will be the victors here (possibly Sandusky too) if this passes. Up to 8400 new hires are predicted between late 2010 and 2015! In Sept 2015, the bottom 20% of new hires will stay at that level, the others will bump into the top level! So if they hire 8400, then only the bottom 2100 will be on 2nd tier and the other 6300 will bump into the top tier! I would love to have any plant have a 2nd tier wage problem! That means everyone is back to work! For those not liking the 2nd tier, you need to look at alot of other Union contracts, over 70% have a 2-tier wage system, just ask any that work in the steel mills! If I could vote, I'd give it a YES! Btv to Shv
  15. I have feeling we wont have to worry about Chrysler this time next year. I think the Chrysler retirees have alot to worry about! BTV to SHV
