That's NOT a good thing!!

Its D385, its the MKS, the Five Hundr, er, I mean Taurus platform-mate.

Wait til the "new" one comes out. The Boss or whatever engine will still be there.

First the link to the Blackstone IPO: Blackstone IPO This is where things get tricky. It's called the recapitalization of Detroit, and it's happening now guys! Blackstone is soon going to have all the cash it needs in an open market, of all the "private equity" companies out there, Blackstone will NOW have the most liquidity. Blackstone is no stranger to automotive either, they bought TRW Auto from Northrop Grumman, they seem to be doing fairly well there on Plymouth Road in Livonia.

The answer to this question is: They would have to change the way that they build cars, GPDS. Which would quickly WIPE OUT any financial gains from selling these brands. Nothing to see here, move along, move along...

You guys diesel is a retarded proposition until 2010 at the earliest!!!! The EPA just had a changeover for DPF for 2007. Diesel this, Diesel that, "I want my diesel now!!" You tards better recognize, the EPA is the master and gatekeeper of diesel. There is no one in their right mind that is going to "fleet up" with diesels like they did last year! The reason so many heavy trucks bought last year, the EPA 2007 changeover. More tech (especially on the "green" side of things) costs too much money for these penny smart, dollar stupid shipping companies, they loaded up on 2006 models and COULD CARE LESS about 2007's!!! You'll see more companies "fleet up" after 2010, but not until then! Diesel, pfffft, you're better off with an electric car! Who's to say that the EPA won't further limit diesel emissions after 2010?

Granholm's husband drools over Toyota
g48150 replied to Bored of Pisteon's topic in Ford Employee Forum
Camry still sells more and more everyday. F-150 and Silverado are looking over their shoulder, crapping their pants. -
Guys this is the Ford Maverick. Look it up on Wikipedia.

Granholm's husband drools over Toyota
g48150 replied to Bored of Pisteon's topic in Ford Employee Forum
How does fear factor in the equation to buy a Camry? or an Accord for that matter? I'm not scared to go test drive a Highlander for example, even the non-hybrid. -
Free Press Article What a shame, I'm pretty sure that's the big blue "Birdcage" that always has the Ad on the side of the billboard that you can see from the Southfield Freeway. Sick part is, I know guys in there that would want his parking spot...

Richard's no fool, he knows who's #1 and will pay through the nose to get to slam the competition! Did you know that it is really ANTI-American to say Buy American?

Granholm's husband drools over Toyota
g48150 replied to Bored of Pisteon's topic in Ford Employee Forum
Here's one: Why isn't the Toyota plant in Kentucky "organized"? Is the union "too expensive"? Camry's rollin out of there don't seem to have a tough time selling, so what's the catch? -
Was the DEW98 a failure?
g48150 replied to Buick61's topic in Rearview Mirror (Discontinued Ford Products
The scariest part of this is that the "New" Mustang was SUPPOSED to be on this platform. Chris Theodore changed that and created the S197 platform. Thank god for men with balls and brains at FoMoCo, something that is in short supply today... BRING THEODORE BACK!!!! -
"The last Ford with a nice interior, would you look at that!"

Warranty, will Ford extend it?
g48150 replied to foxrun's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Powertrain warranties should START at 10 years and go UP from there! The 20 year powertrain is coming, and fortunately for us its diesel after 2010... -
Ford 2nd in brand perception

I prefer Taurundrus, thank you... I like it because it sounds like a scary dinosaur, which it is... -
Damn straight my friend. But, all things fair, Automotive ECU's are only rated to 40 below (which for the geeks out there is convergence point of Celsius and Fahrenheit). ECU = car computer. Too bad couldn't add a solar heater or an old-school crank like on the front of cars without a starter motor to heat that up!!!

The biggest problem(s) with diesels are in the emissions standards that came out this year (2007) and in (2010). DCX's Bluetech "solves" the 2010 problem by adding urea to the exhaust to "make the exhaust air cleaner than the intake air", as the joke goes. The problem is with the urea storage. This system HAS to be in constant use with the engine running, so sooner or later you have to refill your urea. Anyone know where I can get a tankful of urea? Granted, right now in 2007, you don't need to have a NOx cutting "system", but in 34 short months you will, which is SHORTER than the average time it takes to develop and market a vehicle. Look for more diesel "goings on" AFTER 2010 when the emissions standards kick in. For Ford, this is possibly ONE of the biggest money savers they've EVER done, but like it or not, the game will change in 2010...

Top 4 stupid Ford decisions...
g48150 replied to TStag's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Here's mine: 1. Giving Chris Theodore "the boot" through "retirement" 2. Giving Lee Iaococca "the boot" 3. Failure to share the burden of Systems Engineering with the suppliers (or just failure to share ______, in general) 4. Giving an obvious genius (Chip Foose) free reign to design a "mass market" automobile, this from the "king of customs" is going to appeal to a swarm of American Idol fans? Before you throw me under the bus with Carrol Shelby, at least Shelby's been doing this for awhile... -
Nothing to see here, move along. Foose doesn't sell cars for "everyone" although he will make cars for "anyone". Personalization is a sumbitch to an auto exec. Let Foose make Scions look good, his stuff in a NA producer is going to get watered down, I'd rather have no car, then have a "Foosified" car that gets half-assed. I don't want to know what a Picasso looks like AFTER he's told its "too expensive" and changes it so it can be sold at Wal-Mart. I'd rather have an under body that will last 20 years with a "plastic" upper body that I can change as often as I feel like it.

I got one for you Richard, what kind of l33t s4uc3 do they put in the Wheel of Fortune on TV to make it so popular? Why does Wheel of Fortune still get viewers, all my 7 to 10 year old nieces and nephews like it when Grandma has it on the TV, what makes Wheel of Fortune so timeless?
-
The way it drives will too... All kidding aside, this thing is a warmed-over Scion, for all intensive purposes, this is a Scion for fat people.

Foose Fords coming to a dealership near you
g48150 replied to Mark B. Morrow's topic in Mustang Forum
Dude, they booted Chris Theodore, and he actually has a RELEVANT product at Ford, the current gen S197 Mustang. This has NOTHING to do with "JUST FIX IT" and everything to do with "JUST SELL IT"... Think about that... -
3 of the top 20 Vehicles sold in 2007 are Minivans
g48150 replied to DCK's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Take this into consideration when you pull sales numbers for a very specific "period" of time. Even the "venerable" Taurus sold extremely well until the Camry passed it back in the day. I'd be more interested in the 5 year trend of minivans, not the "oh my god look at this" 2 month vehicle survey. Tool... -
Alan Mulally on bringing back the Ford Taurus
g48150 replied to Blue Oval Guide's topic in Taurus Forum
HOLY Have you done this before? That sounds like my last trip to the Toyota dealership... OH, you meant Ford? HAHAHAHA! The Ford Dealer told me young guys don't like cars, only trucks!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!
