Talking to beer buddies isn't always the reason. DUH! I'm a daughter, wife, mother, sister and best friend...not just a Ford Employee.....living in the plant from 5:30 am until 4:30 pm....once in a while, people need to get ahold of me. Obviousley, you're not that important.

I gotta love this one too, yes, anytime 3 or more elected and or appointed officials in any capacity can actually get along, AND do their jobs, smartass folks like Geek, that are left out of the loop, gets lippy. From what I understand, it was said in Monday's meeting, (and I'm sure it was said in more safisticated words than these), we as a plant have the worst cost and quality in Ford Plants Nation Wide, and we have basically 6 weeks or less to turn it around. Our plant is in the "TOILET". There will not be any consideration given because of the CONSOLIDATION. But, I did NOT, hear it said we are closing.....I think that staement was left open, dangling in mid air. Not to defend Bruce, but, haven't we always said.....STOP KEEPING OUR LIVES IN THE BALANCE, LET US KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON? QUIT KEEPING SECRETS?......I know I have. Only things I know we can do positively, come to work everyday, do your job as it's set up to do, and send quality units down the line. My PROBLEM OF THE DAY IS......Our Supervisor 'relayed' messages from her superiors. 1) NO CELL PHONES.....I personally do not have one. BUT, when I did this is how I felt.....I am a WIFE, MOTHER, DAUGHTER. SISTER, AND A DAMN GOOD FRIEND to many people that may need to get ahold of me in an emergency situation. SO, seeing as folks cannot use their cell phones any more, I pray the Supervisors are standing next to the pole with the house phone attached to it waiting for Employee Relations to call down to the floor with an emergency phone call for some one. God help their asses if an employee is needed at home in an EMERGENCY and they can't get ahold of ya...... 2) NO NEWSPAPERS, MAGAZINES AND BOOKS......Love this one too....so ya take newspapers, so that said employee can pay more attention to his/her job duties. Well, now that ya just PISSED OFF said employee, do they really think he/she is going to tell anyone when they do notice a repair that needs to be done? Do ya think they are going to go outoftheir way to do anything other than the bare minimum????HELL NO!!!! Just my thoughts and info to pass along, but, I'm sure GEEK will have something of no value to add.....

Okay, Geek, once again I have done my homework and did all my research. Mr. Bruner had no rights to that job. Reading the Local Contract, page 28, bullet point 5, you have to wait 3 months (not 90 days), before applying for an open job bid. It had not been three months since his last placement. Regardless of seniority, that's the way it goes. It would be a wonderful thing if a person could continue to bid on better, easier, cleaner, cooler, whatever jobs, whenever they pleased!! But, you can't.PERIOD. But, on the other hand, from what I understand, he got the job anyway. "GEE< WONDER HOW THAT HAPPENED?" Well, Nick over road the "CONTRACT" and gave it to him anyway. Which in my opinion, is BULLSHIT!! The point is, he HAD NO RIGHT, to the job.

This may be a silly question, but what the hell....I'll go to bat. Has anyone heard from Spring?

:shrug: We heard the same thing 7KIDZ...supervisor running around taking all the chairs away...Russo and someone else was coming to look over the plant and how we operate...(?) A fella (old timer) in paint told me that FORD has given us 10 million dollars to perfect this wet on wet on wet (3 stage paint) system, if we can perfect it, (he speculates) we won't be closin up shop!!? I gather it would be the only paint system in the world capable of production. Maybe, just maybe, if that happens, and this facility takes on the MOA....will we survive? ( then again, dumb redneck here, wth do I know?)

:shrug: I don't know about all that, I do know I did have the fuel pump and sending unit changed, but yet, every now and then it won't start, I open the hood, fiddle with the fuse, and it starts!? All I know is, I'm damn proud of my lil truck, ( I think we have become one)..... :shrug: That was the main reason I could not take that transfer, knowing there were no new/existing jobs created. Which meant I would have been misplacing another family down there that had already been established in their lives and in their communities. I would never been able to sleep at night knowing I bumped some one out of their bread and butter....but that's just me....

:happy feet: Not to change the subject of bashing FoMoCo and Union Reps etc. But speaking of the Explorer and it's ratings, I can understand why it's rated as high as it is. I am the PROUD owner of a 94 Explorer 4x4 with 246,102 miles on it!!! (yes, that was 204 thousand). The body is in excellent shape, she runs perfectly. It only has 2 problems, the fuel sending fuse keeps going bad (thank God they are cheap enough) and it needs a left side tie rod.....I have owned many new vehicles, and pound fer pound, none have held up like the Explorer.....BTW she loves to play off road too!!

Cut A Ways are the units that are also called CAMPERS. in plant they are just the cab and they go else where to become campers, boxtrucks, moving vans etc.

I've heard the same thing too. But my only problem with them saying that the absenteeism is the worst, is the fact that we have a very old work force. Meaning that, the older they are, the more vacation and personal time they have. Of which I just heard that those hours are also considered in on the absentee total. And what really pisses me off, these folks that are out on medical, because of occupational injuries or illnesses, are the "slug" as so affectionately reffered to, are also considered absenteeism! Actual awols are what should be considered absentee, not medicals and vacation/personal days!!! Just a thought I thought I'd share.....

And as far as I know, he hasn't told anyone on the sealer line that they don't have to wear coveralls, as a matter of fact, I argued the point with him, that it wasn't untill roughly 10 years ago that they started wearing them, manditorily. :shrug: So why was it such a big deal to wear them now, because I was told that a study had been done, and there was absolutely no QUALITY differance in weather they were worn or not. Same as with the whole glove issue, ever try using summer recipe daub sealer with gloves on? :shrug: Virtually impossible!!! Now, they are mandatory also. As far as my pal Ladikos, we have been very close for a very long time, and I don't know him to be whiney or to whimper. What I do find to be childish, is the fact that you hide behind a bogus name, not reveling your true identity. So that you can sit back and make non-sense remarks about things you have no clue on, just to raise suspicion for others. And the only way for you to get the attention you desire, is to stir up some negative reaction from people who have more to worry about than what Flash spends on his yearly tanning membership at the local spa. Funny thing about people nowadays, they're a little more concerned with the state of chaos our plant is in, what their future has in store for them and their families, and worrying about what their financial status will be like in 6 months to a year from now. If you were to use all your inthusiasm on finding answers to life altering problems instead of using it to cause chaos and suspicion, you may get a little respect. But as of right now, most just think you're bullshit...
