got one, living strong at 118k..

its cool, i base my decisions on past expierence, i dont read magazines, they are for the most part really biased, i have owned a hyundai, i will say it was a cheapo 1992 scoupe, which died on me at 45k.. then bought a toyota camry in 95, died on me at 61k... so i was like wtf.. so i liked nascar and like alan kulwicki since he was from wisconsin, near me, so i went and got a used 93 Tbird, drove it till 155k, not a single issue, got a 97 Tbird, good for 2 years and 31k miles, no issues, until it got murdered by a caddy deville, which i wasnt hurt at all.. so, said i would go with another ford, none broke yet, now has my Contour, brand new april of 99, and to this date, been in shop 1 time for mechanical issue, broken right front wheel bearing at 60k.. nothing since.. so, i wont look no where else, no need to.. Fusion, 500 are cars i like, was really thinking about getting a 500 before the summer ends but heard of some upgrades and probably will wait... it kias and hyndais work for you thats cool, i have no desire too look at anything else, why should i, owned ford products for last 11 years without any of them being is shop for a overnight stay for any breakage.. iam just confused why somebody is pumping up something other than ford here, this is a ford board, iam sure there is a kia board somewhere right?

I find it hard to believe somebody has this much of a Hardon for Hyundai and Kia... its all good i guess.

I noticed they are still building a Mondeo, too bad it didnt catch on here in states, i wonder how much one costs in US$ lol..

Is this engine intended to replace the 3.0? everything that has 3.0 will get this eventually?

whats the shortest lease i could get? i want a new car, my contour isnt near death, but getting bored, its 7 years and 120k, i want something new... i like the current 500, but i have heard the 08 will get some cool changes.. and dont want to buy a 06/07 then next year like the 08 better..?

see them around here alot, with rims and all decked out, had one try to race me the other day in my contour, just kinda watched him gas it and do 0-60 in like 20 secs lol.. those thing have 5 speeds? sounded like he was really thrashing the gears...

ehhh.. they going with that chrome grille treatment.. pretty neat... in milwaukee i keep hearing on radio from both gm and toyota, we are the best selling passengar cars in milwaukee.. i visit dealers alot on sundays, iam kinda in market, but dont feel like being followed around and bugged, so normally visit on sundays.. a few dealers in milwaukee had 0 focus, and very low in 500 and fusions, trucks on the other hand, are all over.. when i went to sorens ford today at lunch, they told me the ford dealers sales in milwaukee area that last 3 months has been very very good and they are excited about the edge and some and the 07s as it seems they are getting more and more visitors.. the fusion has really jumped up their visits and sales..

i heard on radio in milwaukee that the dodge dealer is offering employee pricing plus 1500-3500 rebates on every vehicle.. lol.. cool, maybe ford will follow suit soon.. can get more discounts on a new 500 or fusion.

okay, just went and test drove one.. all in all its a great car, fit in finish is great, i couldnt really find anything wrong... the AWD and CVT are nice, car feels pretty peepy acutally, but you have to make it do it.. iam used to my lower ride of my contour, but the 500 just gave me a totally different view, your higher up and just seem to have more vision all over... handles rather well for a bigger car imho, the sticker on the awd limited was 30k, rather hefty i think for just having a 3.0... if they do put a 3.5 in it, hope they dont expect to charge much more... went and took a SEL out, 23k for moonroof, fog lamps, leather, 17" rims.. pretty damn good car for that price imho, i like it, but may wait a bit too see if they do put a different engine in it, the 3.0 is fine for fusion, but 500 needs something a bit more... all in all very nice car... kinda liked it better than fusion.. but thats just me.

i like the 500 alot, looks to sit a bit high but i guess thats ok, i saw a nice 07 SEL with moonroof and foglamps in red, looked rather nice... was about 23k.. one thing, how does the 3.0 feel? seems a bit heavier car for that engine?

thats why i dont pay attention to magazines that much, so many varibles to take into account.. and half the time the magazine dude are biased.. kinda like when the f150 lighting went and set the fastest truck speed in august of 03 i think? but the dodge boys come back in like feb or march and run their ram, which runs faster... saying we have fastest truck.. but there was a big factor there, anyone know what it was? anyways, i use real world expierence.. and it was the new looking sonata, nemours runs.. same outcome each time.. fusion ahead by at least 2 lenghts around 90 or so.

nope, that seemed to happen with the deconting process of the contour, the 98s and my 99 model still had that different vent in front... i have no loose parts in my interior. i was driving the sonata, and it is a v6, he and his mom bought them at same time, later last year.. her sonata been in shop 3 times so far... his 0... heck, my contour is faster in straight line then sonata.

I think C/D made a mistake on them 0-60 times and so on, my friend owns a 06 Fusion, and his mom owns a 06 sonata... both loaded... the fusion eats that sonata alive... the fender gaps on his car are minimal and look perfect and his rubber around his door does stick up some.. not sure if its fit finish issue or design, looks like its there like that for a reason since every fusion i looked at has it... who knows. but, KIA? Hyundai? go to your board please, my 99 contour with 118k on it probably has better fit and finish and runs better than your new kia\hyundais can dream of.

Stupid media, sure ford is going thru a tought time, but why all the ganging up on them? GM is in far worse situation than ford, and toyota and honda are having wonderful quality problems now, but that stuff just gets overlooked so everyone can pick on ford, iam hoping and rather confindent ford can fix this and will be happy when they start bitch slapping these other companies in sales and quality soon. heck, my 99 contour, which was supposed to be a giant pos, has outlasted other quality jap cars.

again, the media is making everyone clueless... toyota barely outsold ford for 1 month... but the total ytd sales ford is about 500,000 units ahead, the ford nameplate itself ytd is the best selling nameplate in states.. sure ford is losing money and they want it to stop, but the media and some moonbats are making it like they are going bankrupt tomorrow, give them sometime sheesh, once the taurus is gone, the fusion will jump in top 10 if not top 5 sellers, the car is awesome, just needs a 3.5 and manual or something. The edge will be a hit, but i kinda am confused, what happens to the freestyle? lol.. same type of vehicle right? anyways, i have a 99 contour that has outlasted same year and later yeared malibus, accords, camrys.. you name it, this silly ford hasnt broken down yet, 118k.. so i will be buying a new car soon, and your damn sure it will be another ford.

I see the ford numbers, but what about other car makers? anyone has info on that?
