  1. I can't remember personally but have been told that the money alotted to STAP for closure was $400 million. Does anyone know if that is true? I also heard that this was brought up at the last union meeting and Scott Smith had said that $207 million was going to buyouts and $193 million was going to a job action centre.(WTF???Pretty expensive job action centre) I did some crunching and if we have 1300 employees here and they all took the buyout which is $125000 that number would be like $165 million. Now I don't think we have 1300 employees and i'm 100 percent sure that not everyone will take the buyout as there will be 300 to 400 people waiting for Oakville to hire them for their remaining years. So I have to ask where is all the rest of the money actually going? Does the National keep the rest of teh money?? If so it kind of feels like the National is making out very very well in this deal. What do you people think?

  3. I have no problem working 4 10's other then the fact it will save Ford more money...... I was simply saying that when we worked 10 hour days back in the day it was hard on a lot of people and I'm thinking people might forget that. Really why should we save them anymore money??? Management is bullying people left and right with bogus charges now and our union could care less! Grow some fucking balls and stop bending over for these assholes! As for the 300-400 guys that got fucked that's shitty but I betting 70% of them voted yes without knowing the whole deal. Now who's fault is that you ask??? I believe it was the Union's fault for pushing the vote in an hour. But that's the past what's done is done..... I would just like to see a little more fight when it's needed and for our Union to stand up to this bullying. I voted NO last time and will again if there is another vote.

Fridays off might sound ok right now but after working a couple weeks of 10s you'll be a zombie on friday and probably be bitching with the gf or wife before you know it! Unless they want to pay us overtime it's not worth it!! Your talking extra child care, your child's sports if they play any and family time that we will be giving up for nothing! We are done in a year and a half let's go out with our heads held high not our tales between our legs........ ( <------ part is for our union..... or lack there of) p.s. Scott tell newmerry(I don't even care to find the right spelling he is such a douche bag!!) to fuck right off! p.s.s. They want to fuck around with bogus charges, then let's play! Nobody use to bully the C.A.W. around especially newmerry...... We are closing anyway.... We have the power back now they need these cars!   5. You know I agree 100% with gocash..... Yes we are closing but that doesn't mean bend the fuck over time after time! I remember when our union would've come out on the floor and told management to go fuck themselves! If we were down 250 cars we should have been notified that we would be working overtime the following week so people could get their child care worked out. You don't just spring an hour overtime on people when we have been working 8 or less for months.... If this is the way our union is going to work going forward it is going to be one hell of a year and a half...... And as for our reps going around with blank sheets of paper asking us to put down our questions.... What the fuck is that???? Is ford still writing the contract is that why you guys don't know anything?? Smitty if your going to national or if your out of a job like the rest of us just do your job and don't let them bend us over anymore....... It's about principal and respect now.....

Share Today at 9:40pm Contract extension until Sept. 2012 No cuts to base wages, no cuts to pensions, product commitments and a 10% manufacturing footprint, closure agreement for STAP. Oakville: major refresheing of Edge and MKX. allocation of new-generation products based on a new global vehicle platform install capacity for a third shift when market conditions permit. Windsor:significant additional volume for essex for the Coyote engine Continuing 5.4 litre production through life of the program sole source of the coyote engine, 5.4 litre and 6.8 litre STAP:retirement incentives of $75,000 for production and $90,000 for S/T., for retirement eligible CAW members. Retirement eligible retirements will also receive a $35,000 vehicle voucher or a lump sum payment of $25,000 in lieu of the voucher. STEP program reinstated:lump sum payments for non-eligibleretirements of $75,000 with at least 5 but less than 8 years of service, and $100,000 for those with eight or more years of seniority. STEP eligible employees will also be offered a $30,000 vehicle voucher or a lump sum payment of $25,000 health care coverage(excluding dental) for 6 months NEW HIRE PROGRAM: start rate:70% of rate and increased by 5% for 6 years to full rate. new hires will contribute $1 per hour toward the existing defined benefit pension plan. pension credits will be capped at 30 yrs. modified SUB and SSW will be introduced to new hires. TIME OFF THE JOB:40 hours of SPA will be converted to paid vacation hours. the remaining SPA will be eliminated. 10 minute break in a.m., 20 minute paid lunch, 10 minute break in p.m. Garbage!   8. In my mind you have the best plan going forward...... but honestly people can come on here and say what they want but please please start putting a bigger standard wheel on your newer cars..... Toyota has already started...... start offering 18in as a standard and having them go up to 22in as an option.... This makes the car so much more appealing! You might not think this makes a difference but i'll tell you that it does. Younger people that are coming up and buying cars totally see the appearance of the car first.... then they think whats inside..... I heard buzz has a meeting set up already with GM and Chrysler incase the vote goes his way??? and I also heard that once he is done with them he is retiring?????? Is this true?? If so is he just trying to sell us out?? OAC as it looks like to me has nothing to gain by this contract..... Hopefully they will stand up for their brother plant in St.thomas as St.thomas stood up for them when they were in trouble....... Go lucky boys!!!

  13. I've been at S.T.A.P now for a little over 20 years and as I wonder what's going to happen when Whitey's gone I still feel like we are heading in the right direction... I listen to people all day talk about who they are going to vote for to replace him...... I like Scott Smith for a couple reasons... 1. He's young and he will be there for years to come, 2. Although he doesn't have the time on the floor he does have the time sitting up with Whitey and listening in 3. And this is the big one! Whitey himself backs him! I hear people say oh he only has 9 years seniority...... who cares!! Obviously he is smart enough and must have some piss and vinegar in him for Whitey to back him. Then there is well he's only been on the floor for 3 years... lol again who the hell cares!! Last time I checked they don't build cars up front they bargain!! and the last thing I hear is well Whitey just wants him in there to be a puppet.... lol All I can say about that is if he is a puppet or not who else would you want pulling the strings??? Your right Whitey! Now I've trusted Whitey this long and I have no reason to not trust him again so Scott you will get my vote and not only mine but also my son's.   15. No I agree with those jobs staying the same but I mean the 601 and 602 crap! I don't think there is a difference really and when you try and bid on one or the other they say well its not your classification?? Well guess what I have the seniority for that job and its no different then any other job I should have the right to take it if I want... but that is just my opinion... The thing that sucks about not knowing what is going to happen with our jobs is that the good workers aren't going to wait cause they have families and shit to take care of so they'll leave and find another job... where as the DOG FUCKERS (and we all know who they are in every department) will sit on there asses and wait and hope ford brings them back because they are to lazy and won't go look for another job. Then we are stuck with them I think the ONION should stop protecting these lazy bastards and let ford get rid of them... but again that is just my opinion:)

I won't be bitter with the ones that stay either as I know that they faught hard for what we have now:) but what I want to know is when is the Union going to say enough is enough and get rid of those dead weight fuckers!! that are bringing us down? If you don't want to come to work and work!!($32/hour won't find that anywhere else) then fuck off and go somewhere else. I'm sick of guys bitching and complaining about doing a job that my 15 year old sister could do! Let's get rid of the dead weight and get back to being PROUD of the cars we build! Let's get rid of the job classification shit and go by seniority only and if we have to start making appointments with our Union Reps up front so be it!! We don't see them on the floor half the time anyway... COME TO WORK AND BE PROUD OF WHAT YOU WORK ON AND EVERYTHING ELSE WILL WORK ITSELF OUT:)

Then you talk of the dog fuckers....of coarse there are dog fuckers there are people like that in every job ... do you realize what these people give to our commuity? hundreds of thousands of dollars.... so don't hate them because your jealous......You should do what the immigrants do and buy the cars that put money in your commuity..... Where does the money go when you buy a forgein car?.......... Is the car old? Yes it is but if they made acouple of body changes, interior changes that car would sell a shit load more..... Is the RWD car dead I think not! people love those cars and for ford not to redesign that car it would be damn right retarded..... As for people not showing up for work.... ya that is stupid i'll give you that... but I don't know the reason for that and either do you so don't just make something up like oh they cut the cable lets not go to work cause i'm sure that has nothing to do with it..... For you to say that there are better plants in the U.S. being closed..... lmfao your a MORON!!! There is no plants better then the ones in CANADA!!!!! and thats a fact! So really what i'm saying is stop being such a jealous person and embrace your factory workers for the support they give to your commuity:)
