  1. I apologize for reacting negatively and posting in reply to something that is best not addressed. In actuality, J-150 is correct, I really do not need to be on here. In fact it is plain that discussion and or debate is not the aim. Telling others how it is seems to be the accepted MO and those with differeing points of view, quite simply get ostracized. Take care
  2. I agree it is something that has been discussed to death although facts and figures have been missing, I agree with you point on point and I also cannot see them abandoning that market, it does not make sense if they did that. All along that has been my point and nothing else. The day is coming when plants will be able to handle multiple platforms on assembly lines since robotics have been coming on line much faster than predicted. In any case there will always be vehicles out there that will fit our needs, it just may not be Ford. That's OK too. The trouble is that it is a snowball that can gather speed and I do not wish that on Ford. That has been and is my single concern.
  3. Then it becomes a question of what is enough profit?? If it is making a profit it is not losing money and if it is not losing money it is paying for itself and all those who draw a paycheck producing it from the parts suppliers on down to the builders and bankers lending money on it. So as I understand it the question is not really losing money, just not making enough on it. Then one can venture ahead and ask at what point will it make enough profit, is it numbers or is it price. What part of a dollar spent winds up as bankable profit? 2%, 6% what, can you tell me? None of these facts are being addressed on this forum. It is not a personal hardship that they will stop making it, I merely asked a question and stated that for me it is a great unit. If it gets dropped and not replaced, so be it. The Flex is not selling all that well either nor are the Lincolns, are they too, at a place that makes them unprofitable...My point is and always has been that there is some point where the downsizing results in a reduced market share and the lack of products becomes a downward spiral causing customers to automatically look elsewhere and store traffic will suffer because wanted products are not on the lot.....Ford is doing great things with quality products but must be careful of the pendulum swinging too far to small cars and dropping the work/utility vehicles altogether. There is no question that the F150's and superduty's 250's 350's etc are great vehicles purpose built to do hard work but going from a auto to a truck at the moment you will have to go to a 150 which is no small and fuel efficient vehicle by any stretch of the imgination. A vehicle like the ranger makes sense in today's climate as do the Fiestas, Fusions and small engined Tauruses and turboing them gives acceptable performance. Seems strange to me that Ford goes small in Passenger cars and SUVs then jumps to bigger and taller and mega costing trucks. Like I have mentioned before that is just my opinion and I have no issues with anyone who sees it differently. It is the name calling that I find silly and childish and yes laughable.
  4. You're hilarious and 10 years old even!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With an IQ approaching your age.................I am LMAO
  5. You just can't stop with the vulgarities and the name calling, can you. As far as dumb, read what you write and compare it to everyone else on here and explain who is DUMB. Seems there are quite a few who seem to disagree with you and none of them are calling you names. Personally I do not care what you call me but you most certainly exhibit your own lack of tact and class. Not to mention emotional immaturity. The only one who is not contributing or answering anything at all here is You, yourself! So I suggest you show me a documented analysis of Ford's position regarding the small PU then I can respect your OPINION which is all you have offered so far. The insecure and uninformed always make personal attacks the only proof of their own opinion and bank on having the loudest and most vociferous vulgarities in the hopes of cowing anyone with a differing opinion. Now go ahead and respond by again rabidly barking at shadows...Am looking forward to it. You know, the only reason I even mentioned the vehicles here at the moment was to show what a fan of Fords I am. Never even occurred to me that it would be even considered a brag and there are many on here who also list their vehicles, some with as many as ours. If I were to go back and list all the vehicles I have owned in my 60 years of driving There were only two NON- FORD vehicles. An Early Toyota MarkII Station wagon (pure Junk) and a Dodge PU whose window cranks kept falling off and wind wings fell out constantly. Both were bought and resold within a year. All the rest were Fords. Assuming you are a Ford Employee it is doubtful that you are speaking for the Company for if your comportment is an example of Company policy one can readily understand that Ford will have to keep on digging itself out of it's hole for a long, long time. You act and post as if you were speaking from a position of informed inner knowledge, yet offer absolutely nothing of value other than vulgar name calling and personal character assassination. In my personal opinion, if you are a FORD employee, and I were in a position , you would be terminated.
  6. As expected, more class....How old are you...surprised you can read and spell with yer kindergarten logic...and vocabulary. I come here to learn and 99.99% of everyone contributes to my understanding and many also would like to see the Ranger or something similar continue, sorry if that offends your sensibilities....
  7. Wow what a classy post. everyone of those vehicles sits right here and if you wish I can give the vin numbers if necessary and you can check if they exist. Unfortunately seems to me that your sole contribution to this issue consists of vulgarities which you yourself consider superlatives when in fact they display your stupidity and lack of a vocabulary. You are a sorry person with inferiority complexes that make you a loser and will always keep you there. No brag ever intended. Statement of fact and how does owning Fords ever construct a brag?? If they were BMWs Audis or Mercs then perhaps it could be a brag. Secondly every vehicle is and older veicle, the newest is a 2004 oldest a '95 yeah I guess it is a brag that I own old vehicles...but everyone of them runs well and I do maintain them to keep them running like new, how about you? Now let's hear you blast off yet again...lets hear some classy language..... Thirdly, I simply stated my opinion as to what I felt would suit my purposes, building it and making it profitable is of course up to vulgarity experts like yourself!
  8. I have read re the Amorok and if it were available here in the US it would be my choice. To the best of my information it is NOT scheduled to be introduced here anytime soon but I may be incorrect!?
  9. It was a pathetic affair. Priced in the stratosphere, not utilitarian and rather poorly styled. The Ranchero I could see is basing it on the Focus with room for four and a bed to boot like the ones flitting around in Mexico....
  10. What was grammar about the word??? You simply did not understand the word, grammar has NADA to do with it......I simply misspelled it but it is context andhow it was used is what you do/did not understand...Oh and by the way it was thee who corrected me, in your opinion grammatically perhaps but simply that I used the wrong word.... .Ford has said it would no longer build the Ranger after 2012 or was it 2011. Seems rather succinct to me......But ya know you are right, I know not of what I speak......
  11. Well akirby, look up the definition and I am not exceeding anything merely acceeding something. Learn to speak English before you correct someone!
  12. I am simply a single person who would love to see the Ranger continue to be produce with an update and at a reasonable price. A simple , well built useful vehicle without all the silly frills that seem to get added to a vehicle and hardly ever get used....A tough little truck with a good ride, decent mileage, dependability and minimal gadgets but that is simply me. My opinion only and happily acceeding your suprior expertise. Yer right and I am wrong....Thanx
  13. Show me where BMW has fewer product choices? Honda with Acura as well?? Ford is doing Great lets face it.
  14. I do read and haven't had a donut in over 20 years. There is a point where smaller and more profitable becomes ludicrous. see Ferrarri, et al....I suppose you haven't noticed that VW and Fiat now are going in another direction, as is Mercedes and Renault/Nissan etc. It never was about size it was about crappy product and in effect Ford is starting over. Make fewer products that are saleable with good quality and dependable with solid performance at decent prices. Had they done that beginning with the Nasser years they never would have lost market share. I have no gripe with what they are doing now but it is simple math that if you reduce product choices you loose some of your customer base. If you sell fewer units and to remain profitable the you have to raise prices. It is a spiral that can wind up hurting a company that deals in a single product. Now reduced to Ford and Lincoln it can't be as encompassing as before. Point is product is what sells a company, if you have no products you aint selling and if you aint selling you aint got a company. I am sure you have it all figured out, bein' as how your vocabulary is so descriptive....and so emotional
  15. You see that is exactly what I mean. It is a closed mind that causes lost sales.....You are entitled to your opinion but I already have a Focus that also can handle two dogs and an Lincoln LS-V8 Ultimate as well as an F350 diesel dually that all can handle a couple of dogs why would I want a Taurus??? Even the Motorhome is on a Ford chassis with a 460 lugging it around. So what sits here on our lot is 200K of Ford products and it pains me that I cannot find what I need at Ford. I want to replace the Focus with a small truck and a ranger is the ideal size and offers utility to do grocery and small lumber yard shopping. I also do not need it loaded with options out to God knowswhere. As far as I am concerned they can drop it cold turkey since what they make now does not suit my needs so I will go elsewhere. You however, can take your advice and do that which you should. Buy a Taurus and tow your Mustang with it. Oh I did own mustangs as well, a 1965 with a 302 and a 67 also with a 302 and four on the floor....both bought new...so have been a Ford person for a long long time but OK to suit you I'll go elswwhere since your advice is a tad lacking.
