  1. Greetings all. 2 home based independent business ventures, along with a (roughly) 9-5 business position. Things were a little scary at first, but I've really developed within the past few months. ....Ford was costing me money just to go to work, I wasn't very productive because I was pinned up inside all day, things are better for me now.. Good luck to all, do what you feel is right, and happy holidays.

  3. With the STEP, does anyone know if we can "choose" our approx. separation date again ?
  4. Why doesn't 228 have a local contract yet ??!!??? These negotations have been going on for QUITE some time now. Surely someone here must have some good knowledge on some major sticking points....wtf
  5. ...during the holidays employees received a letter that said we could log in and view the status of our pension online. Does anybody have that web address ? I think it was a Fidelity address.... Thanks!
  6. If you have ALL of your vacation and personal time still available for 2008, does that money get paid out sooner than the actual buyout monies ?
  7. Great news. I hope this Jody makes a difference. Ed Kowalski is a professional as well, much respect for Ed from me. He was my commiteeman for quite some time, he always did a great job. Any outside work on a consistent basis will make a world of difference around here. It is truely what we need. It is so difficult just waiting around for whatever bone Ford throws at the bldg. The 'Rainbow' job was a start, (under visteon), but very short lived....
  8. 228 Elect. and Wakeup, thanks for all your positive discussion. Refreshing, and good to see. I wholly agree that only the Union and the workers themselves have the desire to make things viable around here, upper management as a whole has been on self destruct mode for many many years. They seem more content to let the plant go downhill than to fight for it's survival....... ........now if we can only get rid of Drunk, maybe he'll drink himself into a coma ?
  9. 228 Elect., 500-600 production jobs, plus X amount of skilled trades per Pat Reid ? Why????..........Do these numbers go with the number of jobs supposedly lost from upcoming outsourcing ??I know we lost some jobs, shafts and case-carrier, but what else ? How quick does she wish to acheive these numbers ?.......Why do you feel that dept. 17 is going to shut down ? Don't they still have 7.5 and 8.8 material to run ? I thought they were running two shifts right now ? I thought that with the p-415 assm. job being awarded, that we were going to stay in relatively good shape for awhile..(?) I find that with Reid she seems to talk tough, but her larger scale layoff plans never seem to materialize. We've yet to lose headcount by ILO within the last couple of years, just by attrition and buyouts. Talk to me bro...
  10. I don't get it, Level. This is real news as reported by a real news source about the future of the company from the leader of the company from which we are all employed. We can vote yes one day, but not listen to what they have to say on the next ? Please......chew me a new one here..
  11. Sarah Webster from the Free Press kicks ass. All throughout the Way Forward, she has had the most accurate info. This is the first article that I've seen that actually spells out Sterling and Raws. as 2 of the plants that were slated to close: http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article...AUTOTALKS072007 Looks like it was straight from Mullay himself. I'm sure were going to be on the radar for a looooonng time... Hope everyone has a nice long weekend.
  12. This plant is not a high overtime moneymaker. Depts. have been shaved down to the minimums, hours are (kinda) watched closely for general production people, there are no weekends unless it's some kinda emergency, and schedules are generally down. Many people quit making big bucks around here well over a year or so ago............this place is like a dead zone compared to the way it used to be. Hopefully, this newer work will create a renewed buzz around here, but not to get too excited just yet, the work is not even here yet. Not until some time during 2008 and beyond... .....market share, sales, and the allmighty production schedule are king. Without an increase of those items, we're for shit around here....
  13. Wakeup, I see our local agreement is not yet hammered out. What are some of the main concerns within that agreement ? You already said we got stores and our hi-lo's back........surely it cannot be work rules as we have already reopened the COA numerous times regarding work rules....
