80% of a/c trade is electrical related problems, Motors, starters contactors, circuit boards. That is why I thought the flow would be to electrical. At Wayne a/c people are required to wear level 1 protection.

These red circled trades. Do they have a job, or are they laid off? Foe example there are two a/c mechanics here. From what I read in COA's around company, this a/c trade is going. What will hapen to these guys if there trade is red circled? Out on street or combined with electricians

I would like to ask you if the company said they will put future products in MTP, if COA is voted in? You know that MTP, ISA, and WAP, have alot going for them. Location, City of Wayne tax help, and State government help. I can see helping company with more flexible work rules, as long as it is done while present workers are protected. An example would be RED circle of Trades.

I see on Blue oval that Woodhaven and Rouge started to layoff skilled trades. I would like to know if that is just COA plants. At Wayne we do not have any trades laid off as of yet.

Who on skilled trades at ISA is losing there JOb? I have heard of no skilled trades layoffs at ISA. Wayne skillled TRades

Do not feel that you are getting bad advice here. Everybody hopes that you and your family make out during these trying times. We are all in the same boat, many of us have not only ourselves to worry about, but family members that work here also. I do not remeber the exact quote, But here is the jest of it. "Stick together or Hang apart" I for one think we UAW members should stick together. Help a person who is worse off than yourself, it will help them a little and you a whole lot.

Look, I am a Skilled trades person also. We all have hard choices to make. If you want to stay working at Ford's then make a choice and forget about it. Most skilled trades jobs will be modified due to COA. This Coa will eliminate large numbers of trades. You should be happy that the unioun allows you to flow back to production.

Heard on the floor here at Wayne , Dec 11 more supervision layoffs coming. Any other plants cutting before Christmas.

What you will see is most people backing out of these buyouts. Ford will then Have to lay people off. The jobs are going, it is just how you leave Fords. Thru buyout or unemployment line. the end result is the same Ford is going to downsize no matter how much all of us wish that this was not coming true. He is hard to grab your bootstraps and pull yourself up, in the end that is what a whole lot of us will be doing. Sometimes the first people out make out the best. Good Luck

If anyone can back out of these buyouts. Whats the point of even posting these numbers? They mean nothing.

Looks like Local 900 has about 1800 signed up between the three plants. Labor guy told me, everyone was asking the same question "can I back out"

Are you a 30 year buyout. My understanding, there are 5 or 6 buyouts with different options.

Could be. I do not know. I hope it works out for people who decide to stay.

Here at Wayne, I hear alot of people saying they sigened up knowing they can back out. It depends on Michigan Trucks shift reduction, which will cause layoffs at Wayne. If there senority holds a job at Wayne, I think a whole lot of people will back out of these buyouts. Also, I know a number of people said they put there last day as August of 07. How is the company going to know the final numbers unitl late next year. Some of these Aug of 07 people I know will back out.

I read the same thing. That is why I have questions about this whole buyout issue. I will not sign up for buyout, because I agree with everything you said. I still have my doubt's about being able to back out, I agree with you, don't sign up unless you want to go.

I would like a straight answer to this question. I have 10 years at Ford's. If I sign up for buyout can I back out? The reason I am asking this question is, the Plant chairman told me that if you have over thirty years you can back out. Example, 30 year man wants to leave Sept 07, He sign s up for buyout and tell's company that he will leave Sept 07. Company comes up to 30 year man in Feb. and tells him he has to leave now. Plant chair told me that 30 year guy could stay till Sept 07 but would retire without buyout. Under 30 years, me. I sign up for buyout and say I want to leave in August. Company comes up to me and says that you are leaving in Feb. I think plant chair told me that in that case that would be when I would be forced to leave. I could not back out once I signed paperwork. I know other threads say that you can back out till the last day. Does anybody know that for sure?

No One knows what the future will bring. Some experts in the financial area don't think Fords will be able to stay in business. Look at the Chinese, I saw a newscast where the chinese live in dorms at the car factory. How can we compete against that?Union Pacific railroad is doing a lot of hiring. A option for some might be, take the four year educational buyout. Try to get a JoB with U.P. or another company. Go to school, get half your wages from Ford's and retrain at the same time. None of the options that we have are easy choices. I know that I do not want to move from state to state as management plays one plant against another. Move to Michigan one year and then move to Ohio another, this does not seem like a good future for any of us.

If the Uaw contract remains the same that would be true. Let's hope you are right
