Why because I spent 20 years in there and have dealt with all the albatroses that the company and the union could dish. If I only had a buck for everytime management screwed me over and a half dollar everytime the union dropped the ball and said "THEY CAN DO THAT" I would not need the freaking 100,000 because I would be RICH by default!!!!!!! I survived that not to mention that Ford has one of the worst safety records for its manufacturing employees....just look at the explosions and deaths that have happened in the last few years in ZONE 1 There have also been disgruntled employees who have gone in shooting.... and killed people....I believe at the Wixom plant....And although nothin and I do mean absolutely nothing, could ever justify the taking of innocent lives and evil behavior.... if you've worked for Fords for very long you can almost understand WHY someone would break. .......It is because it is a... every man for themselves, gossipy, backstabbing, phyically abusive, physically draining and stressful enviroment. The union (especially the international) and management suck alike, people break under the stress, it is a fucking pit to work in and a shit whole of a company to work for.....And you are gonna knock people for leaving and creating a better life for themselves.....Guess what...some people made it out....Pride intact because we were not company or union dick sukers along the way.....Yep some of us made it out so Stay there, Live your Life, Keep paying union dues, and sucking company c*** (because that is about the only way to keep yourself happily employed by FOMOCO) and see who has the last laugh after the next couple of contracts.

A bigger Sissy COMPANY ass Sucker.... than A quitter could ever be! 20 years senority and you have the balls to refer to me or anyone else who took the buy out as.....Well you know what..... you are just another one of the idiots out there who does not know what the fuck they are talking about..... And so you think that unemployment is collectible under the guidelines of the buyouts Guess you don't know everything after all So Screw you and screw you again!!!

It is just amazing how much discord is on the shop floor right now. Hourly people should be wishing each other well, no matter if their final decision is to stay or to go. This is a such a strange time for all of us. I wish that all people who wish to leave could do so. I also wish that all people who choose to stay and finish a career at FoMoCo get the chance. Honestly I do not know why there is so much animosity or where it is coming from but to me it looks like the company wins AGAIN due to our lack of support for one another. This has been one of the most stressful and difficult decisions in alot of our lifes. There are people that wish you well and intend to keep in contact after you're gone. They are the ones who are truly happy that there is something new for you on the horizon I have friends and a spouse staying and sincerely hope FoMoCo pulls their recovery off for everyones sake. I have a 3 bedroom home for sale in Wyandotte (Wayne County Michigan). It is 1500 square, Bath and 1/2, 3 bedrooms, unfinished basement and hardwood floors thru out. Larger size yard and a great deck. It is 12 miles from AAI and about a 20 minute drive to work in traffic. Wyandotte host the 2nd biggest art fair in Michigan. The art fair, hospital, police dept, public library, and business district are all within walking distance. I am one block off the Detroit River and about 5 blocks from Bishop park. I have lived in this house since 1994 and really enjoy all that Wyandotte has to offer. I am moving to another home in Wyandotte and this one must go. It must of been the 1 day in the last coupla years that Steve was on the floor and able to gain something for PDI union dues paying members. Usually he is nowhere to be found or cutting his own deal so he can be just that....nowhere to be found..... And the lack of knowledge and help recieved from Damian when the buyout window was open or how LAME he was when Mary was chair only goes to show because to put it nicely he was one of Tracys key mentors and absolutely worthless himself........SO Have you tried lately to talk to our EDTP rep? Now there is another Useless, cranky rep, who also needs to step aside and let someone who wants to be helpful try their hand at it

Great Post, 20 years and I too have opted out..... for alot of the same reasons. There are lots of negative people out there and they do not hesitate to let ya know how stupid taking a buyout package is. But I think that some people hate change, are unwilling to take a chance...even on themselves, or they are financially nowhere near being set up enough to leave at this time. I look forward to working part time, making some pocket change and enjoying what I am doing. I hope things work out as well for me as they seem to be for you and I wish you the best of luck

The reason Ford is in the financial shape they are in is because of the Problems the had with the Crown Victoria Exploding, Problems with the escort, The Big Tire Scandel, Zero % Financing etc etc etc etc

Steves Wilsons investigation is the best thing that has happened to FORD hourly in at least the last 10 years Dont you RemeMber the Crown Victoria's Exploding (police cars) and the litigation that followed...What did that cost the company... Or the Lawsuits over the escort Do you remember the Firestone tire scandle How about the zero % financing that went on way to long and plummetted their stock to the junk catagory. Remember the give backs that the hourly gave just last year in regards to your medical benefits. AS far as you or I know channel 7 is not offering buyouts, are they? Has channel 7 been sued over Crown Victoria's Exploding? Have they been involved in costly tire scandels? Have they offered zero percent financing just to off their product? Have they seen their stock rating reduced to junk because of one bad decision after another? Have they driven the company into the ground via their own incompetence and lack of product? Comparing the 2 is like comparing apples to oranges

I agree...why do they selectively groom people out of a chance to consider a package. If they want to reduce the numbers make it fair for everyone across the board
