I wanted sorley to get to know this man..But he was so dedicated to Ford he never had time for any one........He spent 38 yrs doing this thing..Im 45 now, and he 67...He finally retired and Ive got to know him well now. Short, Was your plant ever offered an opportunity to transfer at all? Over the last three years when Ford was selling all parts plants? At Monroe Visteon, we were offered 3 times at least .......That was three years ago though, when all the rumors were beggining to fly about getting out while the getting was good.....Back then I got out and went to another plant. Just wondering if you all were canvassed to leave back then.

Im sorry I miss read your post...I did not ask for a different date than anyone else...We were givin a choice here bat AAI on a preferiacial departure date...i CHOSE aUGUST LIKE MANY OTHERS, HOPING tHATB BY THEN I would know if 10 yrs seniotity would hold a job...........the union told me that bI must departb by dec 22. when all members on the floor that i REPRESENT STILL HAD THERE DEPARTURE DATE or preferiancial date assigned to them....> Thats what pissed me off dude.............(sorry for the caps but im not going back and changing them. my typing sucks!)

Hey DTM Are your Teamleaders elected or is it a Bid job? May be the language of "MERIT AND ABILITY" should be considered in the next Local Agreement Not exactly Walt........Many Local Agreements have the Language in place .."Merit And Ability"...The strongest part of this clause is the word "MERIT"........For example...If you have a record of absenteesm, you can be passed up and the next bidder could win..Now the wording "Ability"...is a harder one to disqualify a member...In my mind everyone has ability to learn.
