  1. So right now you can't get the 4.6L on any trim level higher than an XLT. Any word if that'll change for 2009 with the new 3 valve 4.6 with the 6 speed? I'd love to wait for 1 more year when the EcoBoosts make it out but that's impossible for me.
  2. I think you're right. You can't get the 20's from the factory on XL, STX, or XLT. So when you order the 20's it puts you into the 3.55. But I think you can upgrade back to the 3.73 according to the Build-Your-Own. Anybody out there with 20's and the 3.73?
  3. A buddy of mine used to put black electrical tape over the 'check engine' light on his 86 Topaz 5 speed. Worked great!
  4. Yep, me too. My 06 Fusion's lease is up this December, it'll be tough to wait that long. I'll take my FX4 in black, please.
  5. Can any of the guys on the line tell me why it has taken so long to schedule to build my Explorer? When I ordered it December 7th from my dealer, he told me it would take 4 weeks tops. So, I planned on 6. Now Ford is telling me it won't even be built until the week of February 12th (that's TEN weeks!!!). Did you guys have any plant shutdowns for the holidays? I think I remember reading that you are all down to one shift now? Have there been any supply problems? It can't get here soon enough, the Escape's starting to crap on me at 80k miles...
  6. Pioneer is right. My Explorer is scheduled for early February, and even though I ordered it early December, my dealer said even with X Plan and the extra $1000 on top, he can lock in those discounts. He cannot lock in the special financing in our area, though. So in effect, I am guaranteed the same price when it comes in, or if say they up it to $1500 or something like that I'll get that instead.
  7. I haven't gotten my new Explorer yet, so I can't verify if it is a feature on non-power-bench models, but I do have a suggestion if you really miss that feature- go to a dealer or a boneyard and get a lock switch from a previous generation Explorer. The door locks in these trucks are a simple negative ground trigger. So, ground the input to the switch, and run 2 wires to the driver's kick panel for your lock and unlock from the switch. Lock is grey with a yellow stripe and unlock is purple with a yellow stripe. If you aren't comfortable doing this, any decent 12 volt shop that installs car alarms should be able to do it.
  8. It is interesting that your #19 complains about the Nav system looking old. Actually, if I'm not mistaken, the Ford nav radio IS made by Pioneer. If you read enough reviews in the car rags, the Ford nav unit is usually the only one that gets positive reviews for the way it works and because of how intuitive it is. #5- I have the single light on the vanity mirrors in my Fusion, and my wife thinks it's bright enough. However, she's probably just thrilled to have one light as opposed to none in my 02 Mustang GT! #9- If a parking attendant wanted to get to the luggage area in your Explorer, trust me, a valet key wouldn't stop him. You aren't missing anything there. #17- Don't lump all Fords except your Explorer into having the fuel door on the driver side, ask any Fox body Mustang owner, and I'm sure there are countless others! Enjoy your new truck!
  9. OK I just ordered a 07 Exp Limited 4X4 V8 (Carbon w/ Black) and I'm really excited. BUT what specifically sets apart a Job 2 from a Job 1? Thanks guys I love these forums.
