My aunt has a Lexus ES300, and I don't think it's as luxurious as people percieve Lexus to be. It's just a dressed up Camry. OK, maybe a few panels are different, but...both cars still make me yawn.

There is no Mercedes engine in Chrysler's products sans the Crossfire, which isn't really a Chrysler. It's an old SLK. It is like the Ford Probe....not really a Ford, but wears the badge. The world engine is jointly designed, yes. But Chrysler has engineered all their own stuff around that block. Sort of like the japanese transmission in the Fusion. The LX cars are NOT based on the Mercedes chassis. The cars are based on a Chrysler derived RWD platform that uses a modified Mercedes E class rear suspension. Some of the transmissions are modified Mercedes transmissions, the wiring architecture is from Mercedes too. That's basically it. It is similar in every way to Ford and Mazda sharing components. It would be a massive cover-up if the HEMI was not developed on its own. To the best of everyone's knowledge, the HEMI actually is an Auburn Hills creation. Chrysler, if properly managed can be quite an exciting and profitable organization. This may be irrelevant, but back when Walter Chrysler was running the shots, Chrysler was the #2 automaker; their engineering was second to none. So the "Chrysler Company" has not too much control over its life, but the dim witted, greedy people who run her are at fault. I am a Chrysler loyalist [so far], but I would never bash the cross-town bretheren; GM and Ford. The domestic market is under attack and is always a closing bell away from slaughter these days. We need to stick together and not smear mud and dissinformation. Now, all the people you told this Chrysler stuff to, go back and tell them the truth. Unless you're 8 years old, then flame me.
