  1. Not a Corvette fan but I would expect everything here. They are great cars and at this point, a better value than the GT 500 (thanks to the dealers). But, the corvette and the Mustang should never be compared to the Vette, bring on the GR-1. Thanks for the review
  2. It seems fashionable these days to bash American car companies. I dont get it! And I rarely see arguements based on fact. I get to see crash results while the people are still in the car. If saftey is so important to some of you, start with the casues of crashes, the diver. We are so interested in how a car peforms in a crash, we get very careless in how we drive our cars. I dont know how many times I've heard "There was nothing I could do" when in fact a vast majority of crashes are preventable. Cell phones are not the problem, eating in the car is not the problem, and the car is not the problem, the idiot behind the wheel is the main problem. Yes, I expect all car companies to build a safe car and I appreciate that they build cars that are safer in accidents but, avoiding the accident is much more successful at preventing injury.
  3. Not usually a fan of unions but this is would be a very good and proper use of union power. There have to be checks and balances on both sides or one party gets abused. Unions need to be a partner in the success of the company and the company needs to be a partner in the well being of the employee
  4. The GR1 needs to be produced and in numbers that will make it competative with the Viper/vette. Enough so ADM's dont follow. Secondly, produce something in the line of the Australian Falcon. What a beautiful car! I'd own one in a heartbeat. Lastly, why does europe get sweet looking focus's and we get a bland compact car?? Bring on some style!
  5. I raced in a class that mandated 2V heads and flat top pistons. I used the Aussie heads. I know they didn't flow anymore. I agree that the cleaveland style motors were some of Fords absolute best and IMHO better by far than chebies 350's
  6. Is this where the closed chamber 2V heads were produced?
  7. Ford also had an R code cleveland in 72, Essential an open chamber Boss 351. Had a little less hoursepower than the Boss and a bit more than the 351 CJ. These are rare cars today. The 82 Mustang GT, with its two Barrel carb actually started a big stir. Faster than the Trans Am's of that day, it actually started (IMHO) the current hoursepower race. 83 did receive the 4V carb.
  8. Dean, your OK ! Seriously, thats exactly what I will be looking for
  9. Oh, what the hey I had one delar that treated me great. Had I not moved, I would have never gone anyplace else, even direct. I will be the first to admit that the consumer shares a lot of blame in whats going on in the market place. People will travel 100 miles to save 100 bucks. I have done it and I see now, thats not the best way to handle my buisness. So, If I can find a dealer who will treat me fairly, I am not going to sell out to another for a few bucks. Service is important to me
  10. Ah, no. I can afford a 500 but I think the KR will be way out of my league.
  11. I have to disagree just a bit. Caroll Shelby says its the real deal. I think he has the right to make that determination. Following that logic, the 68 Shelbys would not be considered real. It is a nice car and full of potential. I agree the future value will follow the path of your 97 Cobra. Now, the new KR, different story all together
  12. No problem, Maybe a better point, regardless of the legality of the situation is the dealer treated me like shit. And, I have moved on but I will always let people know what happened because I will cost that dealership money, somehow, someway. I have bought new fords and mercs since 1977 and have never been treated this way by any dealership.
  13. Ok, I will try this one more time, Im thinkling your a little thick. Yes, I put the money down prior to the options and pricing were available. The process did not end there. I kept in touch with the salesman and he kept in touch with me. The ordering process opened, the pricing was set so I went in and we ordered the car! Of course, it sat in material hold forever (small non-svt, non presidents dealership). My salesperson has been at the dealership for a very long time so he was not new at this. The owner of the delership said he promised the car to someone else supposedly. My sales person was not happy, and I actually choose to believe him (go figuare) So you see, the car was ordered!
  14. Call what ever you want (is this the fith grade?). I doubt anything I say will cange your mind. Not the contract, signed by myself and the dealer nor the DORA with my name on it. So, discussion closed.
  15. Thanks, that does put things in perspective. It is nieve to think someting in buisness could be that easy!
