  1. I agree, get both For me, I've had moonroofs in 4 of my past 6 cars... I won't get one without. I love having it open with the fresh air. My wife, she hates the windows down because it blows her hair everywhere.. It's a constant arguement when we drive together in nice weather lol. And 4wd, well I'm in New England, so it's a must for safety in my opinion.
  2. Glad it worked out in your favor!! I just got an email from my CU today advertising their loans.. They are offering a 3.49% for 72 months. That blows away the 3.99 for 75 months my dealer was offering. Looks like I'll be taking my business to my CU.
  3. I If you request a brochure, the rebate is good for 60 days from the date of request. That rebate ends sometime in June. Id just use the $750 xplan rebate, you do not need anything and it is good till the end of the year. No point in ordering a time sensitive brochure when you can already get it via xplan rebate.
  4. That's great to hear.. that's the sign of a good dealer. $750 will get you some nice accessories and/or a lot of oil changes.
  5. Only because they wanted a cut of your interest rate.. I was going to go with my credit union too.. They were offering 4.99 for 72 months, 5.99 for 84 months. When talking to the dealer I ordered from, they were a little pushy.. you know the "so do you want to order it today?" and "well what will get you to order from us instead of the other dealer since xplan is xplan?". The one I ordered from I actually hate with a passion (sales dept.. their service dept kicks butt). Anyways, the only reason I was there was because they had a white tricoat with pecan interior and I wanted to see it in person. Well it was about 10* outside and he was nice enough to pull it into the service bay because I had my 6 month old so we would stay warm. I swore I would never give them business but he pulled my credit report and interest rates.. his credit union has a 3.99% for 75 months.. DING DING DING.. we've got a winner!! Great rate for a long term!! So he got me to order through them.. What got me was the sales manager (when I was looking at an expedition) was telling me that they weren't making a penny on me selling at invoice. Anyone who does their research knows they get 3% of MSRP.. so I told him that he was making money.. he then proceeded to tell me to my face that they aren't.. Well when I stood up and said "what about the 3% holdback you get which is over $1,500". His response "well we are not going to talk about that". lol.. And I walked out. It is one thing to make a mistake or not know an answer to something.. it's another to think I don't know what I'm talking about and LIE right to my face. I can deal with mistakes.. I can deal with errors.. people make them, we are human.. I can't deal with dishonesty and/or LIARS.
  6. If it's an actual $500 rebate that Ford is offering, yes they can.. if they just took $500 off just to take it off then they violated Ford's Xplan rules and could get into trouble from Ford for doing so.
  7. Cyberdman, in reference to you needing more info, what exactly do I need to get you? What's wierd is that when he showed the order # in the system, there were 2 with the same order number but the 3 digit body codes were different. If I have to go back to my dealer, I'll do it this week, just trying to get specifics so I don't waste any of your time. The vehicle is as follows, white tricoat/pecan limited, 4wd, dual moon, 20" polished, trailer tow, 302a, rubber floor mats and splash guards. I ordered it on 2/6/11. Order # X035 - k8f Dealer # F11575 Much appreciated!!
  8. tmilicia didn't say that they got the rebates already, just that the salesman/manager said he was eligable for them. My feeling is that they just looked them up in the computer, didn't actually try to see if they were compatible.. Once he goes to sign the paperwork, the dealership will realize that they can't be combined at no fault to tmilicia. The dealer should have checked it like my salesman did which led to my posts about it. What I'm really curious on is what the dealership is going to say/do for tmilicia.. being xplan, the dealer CANT change the price.. non negotiable... So any deal if the dealer honored it would have to be a verbal agreement off the books.
  9. That could be.. not combinable that is but if that was the case, I woukd have said to scrap the early order and take the xplan rebate.. another $250.. regardless, you got a great deal.. very jealous.. going to be another 6+ weeks. When did you order it? Curious how long it took. Im only 10 days in...
  10. Make sure they click on the partner tab.. it's the non public tab that shows all the private rebates. There is a little drop down box they have to click on to change to the xplan rebates. My dealer didn't do it at first and caught it himself when he couldn't find it originally.
  11. My sister/brother in law had an eddie bauer explorer, I think it was a 2000. Comparing the vehicles, you got nothing in the eddie bauer. Two tone paint, moon roof, leather and heated seats.. that's about it. Comparing your mountaineer with the new explorer.. you get 4WD/AWD that adapts to your needs automatically, dual moonroof, review camera, nav, my touch, good stereo and instrument cluster, power folding 3rd row, HID's, 20" rims, ambient lighting, heating AND cooling front seats, remote start, 10 power seats, push button start (key fob - memory seats), bluetooth, adaptive cruise control, parking assist and blind spot sensors. You get sooo much for the $10k including increased safety. I know what you meant, $42k is a lot of money but look at the next step up (tahoe/expedition) which will sticker well over $50k. Sure you get more leg room but you also get gas guzzlers..
  12. When did you place your order? Just trying to figure out how long it took from start to finish. I ordered 2/6/11, no vin yet as of yesterday. I'm hoping to have it by the end of March.
  13. Look at the technology that is put into this vehicle. Compare it with the Lexus RX, Acura MDX, Grand Cherokee, traverse (I think that's it) or the GM Acadia. None of them have as much technology as the explorer (Ford My touch for example). Build a loaded one of the others and you are paying more for less. I ordered a limited (only option was we didn't get the dvd) and we are paying $42,600 for it on xplan. I think that is a very good deal for what we are getting (maybe I'm crazy).
  14. When do you pick up your vehicle? Any ETA yet? Mine doesn't have a build date yet so please post the end result of what rebates you were able to combine together.
  15. Correct, I thought it was $1,500 if you had an older explorer.. but that's just the number that was stuck in my head. I'm not sure what the amount is. However, you can combine that with the other $1,750. As a general response to what I found out the rebate system that my salesman showed me has every promotion/rebate listed by it's 5 digit rebate number. There are also separate tabs for public and xplan partner deals.. the salesman has to click on the appropriate tab to list the rebates. Example, the $750 xplan partner rebate did not show under the public tab. The salesman then checks each little box next to each rebate to select it. On the bottom left of the screen it says "compatibility". When he clicks on that, it then goes to a new screen and lists each rebate package and asks the salesman to select which one he'd like. Example: $1,000 bonus cash $750 xplan partner rebate -------------------------------------- $1,000 bonus cash $750 mailer rebate ------------------------------------- If rebates were able to be combined, it would list more then 2 rebates under each option. The salesman then has to click on which choice he wants and proceeds from there in order to get the rebates from Ford. This was all shown to me.. he was trying to get everything he could for me, wasn't trying to hide anything. PS - The spiff for Xplan for my dealer was $550.XX.
  16. If you are talking about the $1,000 cash rebate that is being advertised, yes it can be used with xplan. That's where I got the $1,750 total ($1,000 bonus cash + $750 xplan or mailer rebate).
  17. So I stopped by my dealer today, apparently they changed the order number. Not only that, but they have 2 vehicles using the same order number however the 3 digits that represent the body type are different. I believe it is Order # X035 - k8f Dealer # F11575 4wd limited, white tricoat/pecan interior. Status was showing "clear - unscheduled" as of today. I'll bump on Monday or Tuesday. Thanks again
  18. So I went to my dealer today to look up each individual rebate and see what can and can't be combined. He basically checked off every rebate listed here and then clicked on the compatability button to see the results. $750 # 33502 can't be combined with #33462 or #33384. To clarify, none of these can be combined together. Now each rebate program defined.. $33502 $750 rebate for requesting brochure from Ford (by mail, not downloadable) #33462 $750 rebate for being an xplan partner. #33470 $500 ecertificate for xplan partner #33384 $750 Ford truck direct (you get this if you request a test drive through ford.com eligable for all models). So anyone using Xplan doesn't have to request a brochure which expires in 60 days because you can just use #33462 which runs all year. End result, unless you did the early ordering, $1,750 is the max you can get through Xplan. $2,250 is the max you can get without xplan as you can join the horse association and get the $500 rebate once you've been a member for 60 days. Hope this helps.. kind of stinks but at least I got clarification for myself and everyone else.
  19. If it isnt a bother, could you check one more time? Im going to my dealer friday morning to find out what is going on if it isnt in the system. Thanks again!!!!
  20. There is 33462 also, "xplan partner recognition plus direct offer" which is nationwide. No clue what is the difference. If no one knows, Ill swing by my dealer friday to inquire.
  21. The order confirmation shows the info I wrote. I'm guessing they haven't submitted it yet. They told me they were giving the green light to Ford to build it on Sunday. I'm in a very tight time crunch so that's the reason I'm asking so soon to see if it's in the system yet. Here is a copy of my order confirmation Thanks again for your help!!
  22. Thanks for everything you do!! Not sure if it's too early for the system. Greatly appreciated if you can see if it's in the system yet. Thanks Order # 0040 Dealer # F11575
  23. Got the pamphlet in the mail yesterday, fine print says "note to dealer: claim in VINCENT using #33502 and customer ID." Also states it is a non advertised rebate. A/Z/D plan are not eligable. It will work with X plan.
  24. I can ask but it does not show when he pulls up the programs by zip code. He physically has to type in my first and last name and it pulls up my rebate with address.
