  1. Thanks Grim, I misread that and thought it said volume 5. Duh me! Okay found it all and we're reading it so he knows the rules to follow just in case. Also, do you know the strike pay? Making a budget to be ready again just in case. I hope it doesn't come to that but who knows what will happen. Gotta stand up for what's right for all UAW brothers & sisters! Tam
  2. Howdie, we found our contract books but we only have 1-4 and wondered if anyone has contract book 5 and could scan page 25 for strike information. We would greatly appreciate it We want to get all our ducks in a row just in case...... and it helps to have all the info we can get. You can either scan here for all to see or send to us directly, either way would be much appreciated. Thanks,
  3. Hello, are we able to see this info if we are not retired yet? I don't have a login for the site.
  4. I agree, this is why so many people are opposed to the reform. I have been on both sides of the spectrum. Poor and on welfare with a small child for about 2 years. Then I found a job that had health insurance and fell into the 90 day waiting period and found catastrophic care, which is all I could afford until my insurance kicked in, and what do you know both my daughter and I became very sick and ended up in the hospital because my daughter was turning blue like a smurf. I was harassed for that bill of a couple of grand and finally found a free attorney to help me fight some of the cost and then was still harassed for the $1000 bucks left because they didn't like that I could only afford $25 a month and now we have great coverage through my husband via Ford for which I feel very blessed for. I all to well remember going to the clinics and how I was treated and that the clinic overdosed my toddler with codeine cough syrup for a double ear infection they never caught! Let me tell you I would never wish that kind of care on anyone and if you have never experienced I actually wish you would so maybe you'll understand why everyone in America deserves decent health coverage. I am for the health care overhaul and I am tired of the haves and the haves-not situations in this country. There is no-one here that deserves better health care coverage then anyone else, I don't care who you are. A human being is a human being. But I do feel the lazy people of America should be forced to become working citizens too!
  5. So how many years seniority do you have to get that pay? My hubby has been there 27 years with only 22 years vested and got a whopping $276. takehome errrr.
  6. After reading the article in the Kansas City Star about Claycomo Ford's future is it me or did I just misunderstood him but it appears Wright is blaming the membership rejecting the concessions for possible closing of the Claycomo plant. The section I am speaking of is below: **********Wright noted that in exchange for concessions in the national contract in 2007, Ford pledged to invest in a flexible body shop on the Escape line here. Last year, in obtaining further concessions, Ford reiterated that Claycomo was one of five assembly plants that would receive a new product by 2012. However, that was before this past fall, when more than 90 percent of the Claycomo work force rejected additional concessions that Ford was seeking following the emergence of General Motors and Chrysler from bankruptcy proceedings. Workers at most of the other U.S. Ford plants also rejected the concessions.************ Don't blame the membership and don't blame the transfers blame it on the old decrepit building and equipment that is not cost efficient. It's cheaper to shut us down then to retool. I am the wife of a St. Louis employee and we where hoping no one here in Kansas City would not have to go through the closing of a plant. It was hard and not fun uprooting our family to follow Ford. But we did what we had to do hoping he would squeak in his retirement here at Ford. Anyway, we are trying to stay positive but so far everything seems to be falling in steps with what happened at the St. Louis plant.
  7. Hey Stl2Kc and Slapme, we are right here with ya. They lied to us in St. Louis, got their concessions, then closed the plant anyway after lying to us. Hell they didn't just close it it's been bull dozed and the place is GONE. Good job KCAP don't listen to the lies!!!
  8. Oh yeah I forgot dicks herd like cattle and don't think for themselves, just do what the masses do.... Having a conversation with some of you people is just not possible. Do what you want, think what you want, big dollars are going to these "advertising rings" and they want it taken out of your paycheck. Oh yeah don't forget how much super bowl advertising costs. Woo hooo take our money!!!! I'm sure some dumb ass here will buy your vehicle because Ford paid millions to tell people to.
  9. It kills me that as we speak of concessions from the Ford employees, turn on any TV channel and you will see that Ford throws money away by sponsoring stupid shit. Such as: Monster Truck, Barrett Jackson, Nascar and Drag Racing. I understand they need to advertise buy we all know sponsoring is NOT cheap. There are more cost effective ways to advertise. Stop the WASTE Ford we are tired of taking the hit!!!

  11. Well NO SHIT but washing hands does NOT stop sneezers and coughers from spreading the damn disease in other places now does it. Ford and other big places need a plan to help all their workers. And don't tell everyone to go get a shot. The F*'ing shots are NOT available everywhere yet. Call around, we did and cannot get it until sometime late October and then who actually gets them is iffy yet! So don't make this out that if you wash your hands you will never get it. You can still get it! I was asking if any of the plants have some kind of procedure like the schools, colleges and hospitals do.
  12. Hey all, just wondering if any other plants have any kind of system going to help prevent H1N1 aka sine flu from spreading. It appears Kansas City plant doesn't give a shit about it nor the people coughing and sneezing all night at work on anything, everything and everyone. Hell at least make these people wear masks or something. Chime in!
  13. Yeah, seems to be a timing issue dab nab it!!!! We are still seriously contemplating it and are driving to speak with the current owners this weekend. Told the hubby this may be a sink or swim moment for us. My big concern at the moment is the economy and the ability to get work outside our business to help with cash to pay for the health insurance. Not looking promising on finding work even part-time. Well wish us luck, throw in some prayers and we wish all our brothers and sisters well too. T
  14. Now before all of you jump in and call us dummies for not taking it last time, there is a reason. We had NOT found a business to buy/start yet. We had planned on taking the entrepreneur buyout. Where are mentally ready to go after his 22yrs at Ford. We want to simplify our lives but we are not young pups anymore and have a family. So health insurance is mucho important in our decisions. However, with the new deal though they totally took out the entrepreneur buyout and simply added a car voucher, which is nice but we don’t a car. The 5 years medical insurance would have given us a fighting chance to make it in our own business. Now that option has been kicked to the way side. We are so bummed we were ready to walk away, start a new life, move on, yada yada yada. Now we are having to rethink our options as most businesses don’t make enough in the first couple of years to afford family health insurance. All I can say now is: DAMN!!! T
  15. Oh no I am not a tad out of touch. I am in full reality here. What is not fucking right is that there are double standards going on here between pencil pushers and laborers. I don't have a problem taking a pay cut but DAMN IT what they ask of the union they should ask from ALL SECTORS, every fat cat and high paying person should be treated the same. Plain and simple if money is loaned out with contengencies for UAW then every loan or bailout should come with the same contengencies. So hmmm, if you get a bailout you get it free and clear and no concessions are required but if you get a loan buy god you better stick your arm out so they can take your blood so if you don't pay it back they can let you die. Hell the government is the worst business of all. They haven't been in the black for so long I can't remember but they can still keep on operating and throwing money to other countries and wars when our government can't even get it right. Don't see ANYONE from the white house taking paycuts because they can't get in the black. Tam
