  1. They replaced the whole big fat strip that goes around the door.
  2. My Lincoln dealer had an electronic device that checked for air leaks while the vehicle was parked. Very cool. Checked the drivers side weather striping and could tell it needed replacement. Much better now!.
  3. Try covering the gap with masking tape, go for a drive and see if it helps.
  4. I just got my new weatherstripping installed yesterday. Worked like a charm.
  5. Just got mine done yesterday. I would bet money that it would not work as the original part looked just fine. Much to my surprise it worked like a charm.
  6. Took the Gator to the dealer and didn't even need to go on a a test drive. The tool senses leaks in the weather stripping while the vehical is stationary. Areas of leaks were detected and new window channel weather stripping was ordered. Hopefully that will do it.
  7. I noticed the same thing on the driver side window of my new Lincoln Navigator Ultimate L. The ride is amazingly quiet; the slight buffeting I hear is not duplicated on the passenger side. I'm taking it into the dealer where they tell me they have a special ultrasonic listening device. Hopefully we can pinpoint it and there will be a fix. As is, I believe the ride is still quieter than all the GM competitors.
  8. Thanks guys for the information. I ended up getting a Lincoln Navigator L ultimate. Very nice overall. Hopefully, the backup camera available in 2008 will be a plug-and-play, but I won't hold my breath. As far as the 120 V power outlet, I did find a nice unit at Fry's for $29. As much as I love the new ride, I find it amazing that across all the large SUV offerings, the higher-end minivans run circles around SUV's in most applications, functionality, creature comforts, storage compartments, cargo space, interior versatility.
  9. It looks as though this will be my first SUV. It has been a toss up between the EL Limited, Navigator L and Escalade. I'm glad I found this forum, it looks like a fun and informative place. I'm surprised that there are such few negative posts. Are negative posts edited out of this forum by the moderators or is this vehicle really that good? I noticed that no current SUV has 120v available for laptop computers etc, (five-year-old Toyota minivan has 2 120 v. outlets). What you guys do to run 120v equipment? How many amps do the 12V outlets provide? The big question now is: Do I get a 2007 and how long is the wait ordering a 2008?
