I personally don't want the Apple interface taking over everything in the car - I'd rather have the factory setup, and the apple version within for certain functions.

Redesigned 2025 Nissan Kicks gets more power, optional AWD - Autoblog
The wheels are horrible but the rest is much better looking - they got rid of the pig snout grille.

Kia K4 revealed for New York as the Forte's successor - Autoblog
I don't like that rear fender hip thing, it looks odd. So does the C/D-pillar window treatment. Interior looks nice for the segment.

The upcoming design language on BMW SUVs:
I simultaneously like the move back to a smaller grille (or I guess "grille"), while also not really liking the rest of it. It looks like the generic SUVs you see in video games, with a BMW-like grille slapped on.

I dunno-does the upper grill actually have slots in it? It looks like a very generic two box CUV.
It's hard to tell from the angle posted above. Yes, it does:

Agreed - for brands that have had it for years, it's fine like Lincoln, or even Porsche. But with just about everyone doing it now, it's annoying.

I like the way you think, but only if it's a manual, and it can't be a dime over $15,500. Cmon Ford, make it happen.
V8 only.

I know some have mentioned it before, but another factor to consider is that the initial models are carrying the entire weight of building out Ford's EV infrastructure (production, design, etc), that future models won't have to bear outside of that particular model's development costs.

1) Price
2) Charging
Those are the biggest limitations to EVs. Figure out #1 and people will figure out #2 if price is close enough, and infrastructure will get better.

Who'd have thought that lowering the price would spur sales? Lol.

agree but I don't know, I doubt the plan is to debut both products so close to each other, I think the Expy and Aviator were a particular case
I'd agree that they should at least be present there at the show even if not debuting anything.

I've seen rumors of bankruptcy.

Or.....if they're debuting Expy at the show, they don't want to overshadow it with Navigator, and vice-versa, so it'll be at a separate event....

Do not know about other electric vehicles, but I would not rent a Tesla unless I already owned one and was completely familiar with them ahead of time. It’s not like renting a regular ICE car where all you need is a key and everything else can be figured out quickly, without an owner’s manual, because they all function pretty much the same with minor exceptions.
They really don't drive any differently than a regular car. The biggest difference drive-wise is learning where controls are on the screen, but you'd have to learn the controls of a car you aren't familiar with regardless of brand.
The charging would be the biggest differentiating factor.

I'm sure it'll be the best thing since sliced bread for the GM fans, while the Mach E was horrible.

Huh? It still works the same as before. It’s still a tax credit that reduces the amount of tax you have to pay. The only difference is you can get it at purchase time as a discount on the vehicle sale instead of waiting until you file taxes the next year. That's a huge difference - it means you could get the full amount off of a car, whereas you may only get a few hundred (or some portion) of the rebate on your own taxes.

As we’ve discussed in other threads, rentals are probably the worst application for EVs as-is with the lack of widespread charging infrastructure.
people on trips can’t charge at most hotels and usually don’t have time to go find a charger

Ford did patent a split tailgate design a couple of years ago as seen here.
If they include it on the Expedition I think they might as well include it on the Navigator too. (Or make it optional on either)
Ironically that’s a Range Rover body lol

It boils down to the infamous arguments with Biker16 we had almost 20 years ago..if the NA Market isn't willing to pay extra for something it doesn't feel necessary, what is the point?
We've seen bitching about interior materials on Ford products for 20+ years, but has it significantly impacted sales? It seems like materials Ford is using might seem cheaper but hold up better over time over competitors using "nicer" materials in their products.
Not my justification, but that seems like what Ford is doing.
the issue for me is that how many sales are they missing out on because it’s mostly the same model as the 4 year old ones?though I’d still argue refreshes are necessary if the work weren’t done for it, I think it’s even worse here since the engineering for the changed have already been done

Unless it's for Lincoln only. If all their competition has it...
The only ones that have that setup are the BMWs and Range Rovers.....and I think the Range Rovers have it because BMW designed the 2002 Range Rover and that setup has just carried over since.
My mom's X7 has the split setup, and aside from creating a sort of lip to hold items in, I don't really understand the added benefit for that setup.
Also, it's worth mentioning that the Expy/Navigator (and others at this size) are larger than the BMWs/RR, which would result in a longer tailgate drop, making it more difficult to access items in the cargo area (since you'd be further away from the opening with a tailgate).

I don't see Ford completely re-engineering the rear liftgate away from a design they've used for decades now - the liftglass/liftgate approach.
....especially if body wise, this is going to be more of a rebody than a 100% full redesign.......the detailing on the liftgate (the sheetmetal below the beltline) will be new, but I wouldn't be shocked if they kept the same upper portion.
That said, perhaps the move to the hidden rear wiper in the spoiler created issues with the liftglass design as-is?

Then you can access the roof from the back of the vehicle, instead of only from the sides.
Huh? How can you not access the roof from the back via the bumper step?

Just so everyone is on the same page here....this is a split tailgate that somehow is good for things on the roof??
And, please note the bottom portion does NOT open until the upper portion opens.
This is liftglass:

But if you lease the mfr owns the vehicle and they give you the full credit in terms of subsidizing the lease. Thats one reason leases were so popular. But I never liked that because it was only a 2 or 3 year commitment from the customer. At least that’s how it used to work.Oh, didn't realize that was how it worked.
