  1. I'm sure this doesn't belong in this forum, but can any of you Photoshop experts try to put the MKT concept grille and headlamps onto the MKR concept. I realize that they are very similar, but I think the proportions on the MKT grille and headlamps would look better on the MKR. Just a request because I don't have Photoshop and don't know how to do that stuff. Thanks in advance!!

I'll try to work on something, keep an eye out for an MKT/MKR related thread.

BTW, don't hesitate to begin a new thread for a request.

  2. Looks pretty good, need to see the front/side!

Here's the front, I don't feel like working on it anymore, but here's what I came up with.

Maybe I'll chop the roof a little bit when I feel like it, I think that might make it look a little better. I also think the hood lines are taking away from the design, but like I said, I don't feel like working on it anymore, at least right now.

What do you think of this front view?

  3. It was intended to be a concave semi-fastback roof. A faster rake just didn't look right (I tried it) on such a retro looking car. But here I adjusted it a little.

On the black one(s) I started out with the last Mark show car....but it was so bland and didn't have an ounce of recognizable Mark cues. At one point I literally chopped in a RAV4 tire on the rear...but that looked horrible!

Sometimes I just experiment, this is fun for me on a rainy afternoon :stats:

I like the notched MK9 chop.

  4. if you notice, we have not seen a pic of the engine or engine compartment. But we have seen one of the new refueling area.

The torque curve from that twin screw must be awesome. How much PSI is he running? 9 to 11?

    I wanna say 10 rings a bell.

  5. I would think so, Anyone know since the current 2.3 in the escape has 153 hp and the 2.3 in the fusion has a 160 hp... Does that mean the 2.5 in the fusion will have 7 more Hp than the 2.5 in the escape?

It could be possible, I know the 3.5's hp ratings vary from vehicle to vehicle. Ex: Taurus 3.5: 263 hp, while Edge 3.5: 265 hp.

  6. I have always loved the Expedition and when its time me for to hit college, my Ranger will probley need to be replaced and i have considered a Expedition but i know they would be out of my price range. I have always wanted a Mercury Mountaineer aswell. Anyways, the Expedition is a very nice truck and if you own one, you should not be disappointed. I hope you guys find the 2008/2009 model that your looking for with the right price.

Our Expedition (past 2, actually) has been great. I love the new Expeditions, I'd get mine in the White Chocolate Tri-Coat w/ a tan interior. I think Ford did a great job with them, and the upgraded 5.4, diesel, and interior will only help in the future.

  7. that sounds about right, the Harley's and Saleen's make 450hp on a tune or boost that i think can go a little higher, the MODS have some good power hidden in them

that 335i should be faster though

I'm sure it probably is (weight is the obvious problem). And, yes, it is fast. (well, both of them)

New MPG requirements may require new engines in the current Ford lineup.

I'm not convince that Ford will be able to survive with so many large SUV/CUV, sedans/wagons, and trucks. :reading:

New, more fuel efficient engines (EcoBoost and regular --see Escape's new engine, etc.) are already coming and paid for. Now it's just a matter of time before they spread out across the lineup.

  9. Sorry, but I don't see the difference. Ford is NOT calling the '09 F150, "refreshed", or "restyled". They are calling it the "all new" 2009 F150, something it clearly is NOT. They called the Freestar "all new", something it, clearly, was NOT.

Again, the "all new" Freestar, that looked like a Windstar, flopped, so why would the "all new" F150, that looks like a 2004 with an upside down Super Duty fascia and JC Whitney shiny bits, do any better?

Well, it is all new: every body panel has been changed, the engines have received updates (and will be followed by new engines), the frame has been upgraded and is all new, the interior is all new. How could this truck not be considered all new. While it may look similar to it's current bretheren, it is truly different, in every, way shape, form, etc.

  10. This will improve our zero to 60 mph acceleration by about 1.7 seconds and make our fuel economy equal to – and in many cases better than – our competitors.

Our optional V-6 engine will deliver its own estimated one mile-per-gallon fuel economy improvement and an even larger 15 percent power increase to 230 horsepower.

I guess this means 2009 Escape will be almost 2 seconds quicker to 60mph than present one. I assume she is talking about PIP V6. Now that is significant difference. That will be very noticeable to be sure. That should put the new Escape around 7.5 sec. in 0-60 time or maybe even a little better.

    Good work Ford.

  11. I like what I see. It would have been cool if they had kept the round-style vents though.

I do too. I'll reserve judgment on the vents until I see the rest. The new vents could work really well with the interior. I did like the round vents though. They are VERY effective and offer a truly full range of motion to adjust wherever you'd like.

  12. Well the interior changes are pretty significant...they got rid of the round Air vents and the Gauge cluster is totally different also.

Should be a very good refresh and I'm kinda digging the amber lights up near the headlights...

I agree. I too like the new turn signal location.

  13. Fords "white " isn't the BLAZING white it used to be...and it now has some off shoots, Creme Brulee, and the Tri-coat...BOTH of which look fantastic on the Edge........

    Our Expedition is Oxford white.

I love the White Chocolate tri-coat color. On pretty much any vehicle you put it on, it looks good, IMO.

  14. It's neither. They're crazy like a fox is more like it. Toyota understands Americans, perhaps better than American companies understand Americans. Americans love the underdog. We hate the big guy. The man. The evil CEO, on and on. If you're number 1, you just automatcially get the boo's and hisses. Whats really sick about our culture is that everyone wants to be # 1 but at the same time everyone wants to hate # 1.

Even Lutz said it may be a good idea to let Toyota be #1 for a while.

  15. Hi there, I'm going to Osaka Japan for the spring semester. I just wanted to say that. I am curious to see if I can find any non muscle car era American Cars while I'm there. I am also going to see if I can find a reason why the Japanese will never buy anything American car wise. Also I get to see a whole country filled with tiny cars @_@.

Well I'm leaving Friday morning so I'll talk to you all in about a day =)

Well, I hope you arrive safely and enjoy your time there.

  16. I still like it. A Black FX4 would be killer. Im sure we can find a solution to the ugly tailgate emblem soon enough. The Platinum tailgate trim is too 1988 Bronco for me. other than that its still nice. Even the tail lights have grown on me a bit.

I like the new Platinum model. At least the emblem serves a purpose (reverse camera). Maybe models without the camera will have flush emblems like now?

I agree, I don't think the taillights look bad, especially in that picture Roadrunner highlighted.
