  1. I finally got a chance to thoroughly review the car today at the Javitts Center.

Outside, it's a lot smaller than pictures would suggest, but overall, pretty upscale looking. It doesn't have anywhere near the height of an SUV or minivan.

Inside, everything felt solid and made of good materials.

The seating was wonderful. Everyone got their own little sunroof and shade, all 6 seats were easy to access, although the 3rd row is somewhat snug compared to a minivan. Folded down, the interior could swallow an absurd amount of cargo. Sitting in the first and second row was first class all the way.

Overall, although smaller than a minivan, it felt far more upscale, and well worth its $30,000-$40,000 price tag.

the show car was fully loaded - as usual - navi, leather and all - I do tno think anyone has sees the base Flex interior yet.

    Igor

the trick up Flex's sleeve is the sliding rear seats and the extreme 2nd row legroom - you can slide the middle row forward and have great space in both rows --

    Igor

I can't wait to actually be able to sit in one.

The local Fort Lauderdale Auto Show is this weekend.....I hope the Flex is there, and I would be really happy if I could sit in one.

  2. too small.

the best hope for a True US minivan is one based on the flex or edge.

Really? It looks big in pictures, but I also thought the Chevy HHR was bigger than it was when I first saw pictures of it.

It at least looks like it could be a good competitor.

  3. Notice how the car is tweaked on both sides in the middle. This car took a hard hit in the doors. Does not seem to have any drivers area intrusion.

I'm amazed at how Ford was able to engineer the doors to neatly place themselves in the back seat. Sucks for the guy back there, but.... :hysterical:

  4. HID's are an option........

    As are LEDs

I knew they were optional, what I didn't know is if the HIDs would be projectors or regular, and if the LED's would be a Taurus X type single LED setup or the multiple LED like on the Flex concept.

    These pictures answer both.

Sorry, I should've been more descriptive.

  5. igor, what model of the flex did you sit in? and did have nav or leather seats?

im wondering if the "base" model is still nice inside, because im guessing alot of people who like the flex are going to have to settle for the lower models

From the pictures, both models there (I assume those were the ones he sat in) were Limited models, likely with most options.

    Flex looks fantastic.....

    Agreed!

  6. That back end is really going to piss a lot of people off at night, with the glare off the chromed rear end. When I first read about that a year ago, I thought WTF? I hate just the glare off a chromed bumper in certain situations.

But again, WTF, I'm a who cares about anything behind me, it's what's in front I have to worry about. Now you may have to dodge bullets in the highways in Calif. Oh wait, you already do.

Spring driving opened TODAY. Time to start packin.

Well, drivers will encounter the same problem with the new Platinum F-150.

  7. Instead of judging an ad campaign on a couple of words, let's see what the whole message is and then we tear it apart. Or maybe we will have to praise Mr. Farley as the genius that he is suppose to be.

    I agree.

  8. I think this slogan could work if it was tied back to a larger marketing initiative of test driving the new offerings. Maybe thats a $20 gas card. Don't know. That's Chris Farley's department. But the slogan on its own is bland and interchangable with every other automaker out there.

I think it'll work....and as you said it should be tied to some form of larger marketing plan. That's what Bold Moves was supposed to do, but the marketing part never happened. And BTW, it's Jim Farley, not Chris Farley, the late actor/comedian. (I understand why you mixed them up, though).

    --------

to me sounds like an Army recruiting slogan....wheres Uncle Sam?

Maybe Ford should make "I want YOU" their next slogan? :hysterical:

  9. clean but uninspired IMO....if that bought a tear to mullallys eye then i just see another ho hum 500 situation in the waiting, ford needs to push the envelope, not just go with the flow....Fiesta gets a HUGE thumbs up for repelling "mainstream".....

I agree, although I do like the Falcon's design.

  10. What's ugly about it? The shape is the usual V6 Pony Mustang.....still looks good! The seat stitching is a nice detail. The hood stripe maybe?

That's about the only thing different about it, except for the pink MUSTANG banner on the door and the pink band behind the Mustang emblem on the quarter panel.

  11. Ugly. Enough said.

So right. Thankfully, it's from AutoBild, not from Ford. Stylistically, it does not seem to follow Ford's over-all EU styling direction, so reality may be quite different, if Ford does have something in the works.

    Agreed,

Looks like it was designed by meth addicts, using insects under a microscope as inspiration.

I though this whole insect looking car thing was finally over with.

The thing is ... they added a lot of those styling cues from the FPV Falcon and the old Ford Ka. It just doesn't work.

pretty interesting, the styling isn't bad at all, I guess this something based off a C1?

I'm gonna agree with silvrsvt, I dont think it looks that bad. I like it.
