  1. Very poor assumption...Like most assumptions... Ford is adding it to my vehicle. Ford Engineer coming into town to do it himself....
  2. Wake up Union Team Members....... LEAD: Faced with slumping auto sales, the Chrysler Corporation of Canada said it would lay off about 1,000 workers at its assembly plant in Bramalea, Ontario, for five weeks starting immediately. The plant makes the Eagle Premier and the Dodge Monaco. Earlier this month, Chrysler announced it would lay off 1,200 workers at its Jeep plant in Brampton, Ontario, and 2,100 workers at its van plant in Windsor, Ontario. 3. So even if you do not live in a real cold climate.....Would plugging it up assist the truck in being warmer quicker on cold mornings?
  4. I think you will see more non-Union plants come online if Ford wants to compete and survive.
  5. Well to answer your question ...I'm not hitting the bars. I don't drink...I have limited myself and budgeted myself to 60K a year. Now that I do not owe anything that is plenty of money if you do not go wild with purchases.....I've put money away if needed but that is just what I budgeted for me and the wife. I've paid for the Grandchildrens college funds...Put it into accounts so when they get old enough to go it will be covered..But that will be a way's down the road as the oldest is 6..... Do I think any worker (except top Exec) are over paid...absolutely not!....But I think it is time for the companies and the employees to come together and end the Unions....Workers have more rights now than ever before....I do not see where you should pay someone money to protect you. If you do a good job you will be taken care of. Every company needs good employees. It's the sorry ones that need to be weeded out but the Unions protect them......Would your check not be larger if you did not have to pay Union Dues? Like I have said over and over..Never have worked in a Union environment....never will.....I do not think the Union truly represents you it represents itself...
  6. Very clever response..."Think of it yourself or did your four old help you"
  7. Unfortunately they are still needed today as much as they were in yesteryear because of the poor management issues within most companies, you always have at least one power hungry dictator. Now on the flip side I can totally understand where some of you are coming from with the fact that the union has protected jobs for some of the sorriest, laziest, most ignorant people who don't deserve to breathe let alone make our wages. Ive agonized over the whys and what-fors quite alot, but that is their job and they dont like it any more than we do. But if they pick and choose who to represent they can and do get sued by these asses, which is why they have to carry certain insurance that covers them in such an instance, and they pay for that out of their own pocket. Every company has the upper elite that get the big bucks and comp packs...Union or not....I think if the Unions saw a worthless employee that took advantage of the system and they took care of him themselves instead of protecting him they would go a long way towards establishing credibility with the company and the public in general....
  8. Your Mother must be very proud of the person you have turned out to be!
  9. To all the smart a$$ responders. Ford can and did fix this problem.... To the ones who had responded to a customer's concern with concern for a customer "Thank You" you are the reason I own Fords.... The others need to go to work for the Government because you are not helping Ford and your attitude is about the same as displayed by Goverment Employees at the DMV........Sad to see Unions protect worthless employees who are so disgespecful to the very people who put the money in your pocket every week....
  10. It would be sad to see an industry we started leave this country but most importantly all the people that would be out of work.... It just appears we invent things to watch other countries beat us out of it.....
  11. As a Ford Owner as I read the responses you received I'm embarrassed that people appear to represent Ford would talk to a customer this way....What a shame............
  12. There is no way any company could revert back to the old ways. Now like I said earlier I think the unions had a place and time but feel it is out lived. Now that's my opinion Nothing more" It will have no effect on what happens to the unions. My fear is that we will see some of our great companies fold or move completely outside of the US because of some of the unions. I know some of the unions place unrealistic demands on business. "Don't read into that I'm saying your union does this". Let me ask you a question. If a company decided not to negotiate with a union and the union called a walk out....What is to stop the company from hiring all new people that are not in a union...Look at the Air Traffic Controllers...... As far as companies not paying over ten bucks an hour. There is a Distribution Center in Greenville, SC starting unskilled labor out at 13.75 per hour...It's not union. I'm sure the cost of living is much cheaper in Greenville than where you are. Like I said the unions had a place & time......
  13. I've always been a Ford owner. I do not want to see our country loose the big three. Know most will not agree but I think the Unions have served there usefulness here.
  14. While it is true I do not know you, I based my response on the type of language you used towards others. I do not see then need on a open public forum for a person to utilize such an offensive term. That my friend speaks volumes about morals. Have never belonged to a Union or worked where a Union was represented...So I can not be a Union Propagator as you say. I was just very luck when I was younger and bought very heavy into a stock that paid me huge dividens and I was able to retire. My comments are from an outsider observing what is happening to our country and your industry. I for one think it would be a shame to see any of the big three go under.
  15. Your response to this person and others shows us all your level of intelligence and morals!... Must be a Union Officer......
  16. That you most certainly do as my fingers get faster than my mind....and I forgot to use spell checker....
  17. I could care less about your wages...I would just like to see the American Automotive Industry stay viable. If you want to know I live in SC. Let's take this off the board I'll be more than happy to give you an email address.. My Father did not raise me to allow some one to be so arrogant to question my interguity.
  18. I could care less if your members leave you. I don't expect you to like it...You need to get your Unions to move ahead with the times and stop trying to live in the 60's. Companies are more than willing to pay a fair wage for a fair day's work. As far as a lack of integrity on my part. "Good thing you were not here to say that to my face"! I never have joinned a Union and never will. As stated in post I can speak for myself. I do not need to pay someone to do that. I saw a fair wage for 30 years....NO UNION. Your members need to wake up and see what is happening to there jobs. In several cases you get less benefits with a Union. I've seen proof of that in companies where one area of the country was Union and another was not. The area that was not had the same pay and better Health Insurance.... Your mind is made up and that's fine....Don't be so quick to judge a person you have no clue who they are or what they are about....
  19. I agree they had a place in America. Now I think they are like Attorneys....A leach! Some say so many people can not negotiate for your self...I know several companies with 10K and over employees and no union. No Union dues to pay.. Why would I need to pay someone to represent me...I'll speak for myself....Unions have killed big steel companies and will do the same to the auto industriey. I hope I never see that but I think it is a reality. Why do so many jobs go overseas. To keep from dealing with Union's. It amazes me that a person can not see how a Union takes advantage of it's members and companies.
  20. I have a F-450 with 4.88 gearing 6.4L 4X4 and I avg. 12.5. I would think you should get the 15 you are looking for as the truck you are looking at weighs less and the gearing would help in mileage. From what I keep hearing the manual tranmission will give you about 3 to 4 mpg more than automatic... I have 3,600 on my truck so far and no issues.
  21. No I think you deserve all the pay and benefits. I just do not agree with the fact you have to pay someone to represent you. I think in today’s market you as workers have the ability to negotiate for themselves. Now I do feel the Unions had a place and time but I think they have been outdated for some time and they hurt business and it's own members. Is Management over paid? Upper Management in most every company in the US is over paid in my mind...I mean come on who is worth 1.5 Million a year...or in allot of cases more than that... Just like most sports players are over paid. They cannot relate to you and I...They do not understand the issues faced by most people. My only point is that I think the Unions will kill allot of American Industry by being inflexible when a business starts to struggle it is better to make concessions rather than place more financial demands on them. Now don't take that to mean that any business should run over their workers, but I just think you and any company would be better off working together. I think you could negotiate for yourself and not have to pay a Union Rep. to do that for you... Companies have learned over the years they better listen to there workers or it could cost them in more ways than one.... I hope I do not see in my lifetime the failure of Ford, Chevy or Dodge.... With that said I'm a Ford man but do not want to see the greatest industries we ever created crumble!
  22. I know this will ruffle feathers but I really don't care! The UAW has killed the American Auto Industry. I think Unions Leaders are nothing but a bunch of crooks... I never have or never will need another man to negotiate my wage or benefits! I did fine and retired at 40... Go ahead I have broad shoulders so jump on....Cause I know you die hard Union Guy's will claim all companies management are out to screw you....If you threw the Unions out you would have better benefits and allot of you would still have jobs!.. I have seen Union Folks say "That's not my job" or "I'll file a complaint with my Union Rep"... Guess I'm an old timer in thought...If you are going to take a man's money then do the job he ask you to do.....
  23. Thank you..I sure love it also. I have to take my hats off to y'all as you produced a great product..I wish I would have understood about this being an option..We have a Mini Cooper "S" and live in the edge of the mountains. It is great to have the traction control on the Mini Cooper "S". Please do not misunderstand the post as I love the truck! My 1952 Indian.
