  1. The cars (and trucks) that FNA builds now are light years ahead of the cars that made up their prior contribution to the top 10 list. Current market position for Ford has to do with a multitude of other issues.
  2. I looked at some of the other brochures on the website. The 1979 LTD Town Car has a front end very similar to the original Chrysler Cordoba. What was the Ford competitor for the Holden Statesmen? They have a brochure for the 1980 HS and it looks very nice - it has one of those single-armed steering wheel's like Citroen used to have.
  3. There is a website called "The old car manual project" that has a separate section for some old brochures from Australia. Here's a sample of a Ford brochure from back in 1978. Aside from the pickup truck, I don't recognize a lot of the other body styles shown. The names are familiar though. How times have changed. 1978 Ford Australia Brochure
  4. At least you didn't come back with your usual answer of "show me where I said that!"
  5. Ok, I was wrong. You would make a bad lawyer.
  6. You know, the first step to a cure is admitting that you have a problem - Bravo!
  7. It must be because you are a bad driver. You see, only certain people have learned to control all aspects of RWD. You aren't one of them. Fortunately, you won't end up in a ditch because you didn't mention AWD. All AWD drivers are covering up horrible driving skills with the AWD. They all end up in the ditch. But hopefully none of them have paid for a new car so we don't have to worry about them being hit with depreciation and paying for unnecessary oil changes before they land in the ditch.
  8. Trust me when I say that I don't look for your approval or agreement. Again, you would make a good lawyer. Maybe even a politician. You have the following rules of engagment all wrapped up: Rule #1 - Never answer the question. Rule #2 - Deflect the argument no matter how ludicrous the comeback. Rule #3 - Play the victim when you have nothing else to come back with. Good answer in line with Rule #2
  9. This quote almost sounds like something from Dr. Evil. As already stated, it makes me happy to know that I have been the only one taking care of the vehicle. That way, when I drive it off the road in the winter due to the AWD disguising my bad driving habits, at least I know all the damage is due to me. I look forward to your thorough driving tests of all European and Australian Fords that come to North America.
  10. You like Ford products that you have never seen or sampled. Have you even bothered to look at any of the ones that are already offered here? How about you go and test drive them and report back? Oh yeah, you said you would never buy a new car but its so easy to be in the basement in front a computer and say "I would buy one." Your arguments are as strong as "I know you are but what am I?" And I like the Rolls Royce Drophead Coupe. I am never going to have one and never going to comment that its better than anything else.
  11. Please please please - that is a weak defense. There are 1000 different opinions on this board at any time and you decide that your opinion is going to be based on someone you don't know because they come from the country where the product is built? Nothing against jpd80, but you have so many other strong opinions, are any of them really yours? I don't doubt the Falcon is a good car, its just that you always seem to like the products that aren't here. We will see once they get here.
  12. No you wouldn't. You have no idea if its better than the G8 or not. You would find something else to bitch and complain about. Its easy to be an armchair critic until the product is in front of you. I look forward to what you have to say about the Ford products they are bringing in from Europe. I bet the comments are as expected.
  13. Is the 1996 Taurus a kinetic design? It was all about ovals. I don't think it had anything to do with kinetic design. One thing I will give the 1996 Taurus - they are still all over the place 12 years later. Not that many other cars can say the same thing.
  14. I was being sarcastic - thanks. I thought it was pretty clear based on the posts before it. Is sarcasm just a Canadian thing (I guess British as well)? Go Jack Layton!
  15. Uh.....I was being sarcastic based on P's reasoning about bad drivers. I actually agree with you.
  16. He seems to be buying weapons specifically to piss off the U.S. There are joint Russian/Venezuelan sea exercises coming up. When I hear that I picture a rusty aircraft carrier next to a tug boat although I think Venezuela has submarines now.
  17. You are a bad driver making up for your lack of driving skills by using AWD. Most bad drivers with AWD end up in ditches in rural towns in Minnesota.
  18. Gas consumption is also lining the pockets of Hugo Chavez. He's off in China buying fighter jets with all the money oil purchasing is sending his way.
  19. That's quite a blanket statement there.
  20. With exchange rates and litres to gallons conversions, you are paying the equivalent of $7.98 CDN for a gallon of unleaded. Your cars AND gas are a lot more expensive than over here.
  21. What is the price of gas in the U.K. now?
  22. The red car is the Pontiac G3 (Pontiac Wave in Canada).
  23. I remember winters in SE Michigan. 4 inches of snow and schools close for 2 days.
