  1. Yep, he said he did search and found several, but none had the max tow. Maybe I didnt need it, but I wanted it. I drove one with a 3.55 and it seemed pretty tall. Anyway, the candy red is sure nice lookin. After 3 white Fords in a row, I am ready for something different.
  2. Tested a FX2 EB and loved it. Ford has a winner with this motor if it lives up to the hype. The power is definitely there. I liked it so much I ordered almost what I tested, just wanted the max tow with the 3.73 gear. Candy red supercrew, EB with Max tow, FX premium package, Looks like $32K plus the taxes. Does 10 weeks delivery sound about right?
  3. Bucksnort, that is not good news. You are describing the 6 speed in my Ford truck. Way too much shifting when towing, the slightest incline can cause it to go from 6th to 4th and I never tow over 3500 pounds. I was pretty excited about a new F150 with a 6.2 and tow package but with your experience, I may rethink that. My 4.6 has zero low rpm torque, I thought the tranny deal was related to that. I guess not. I had a 1999 F250/7.3 PSD I sold to buy the truck I have now. I wish I had of never sold it. The stick in my 1999 shifted when I wanted it to....I like that.
  4. Leather-Trimmed 40/20/40 Front-Seat w/heat, 10-way power driver and passenger seats and memory driver seat (NA w/6.2L Engine) EA EB Leather-Trimmed Bucket Seats w/heated and cooled 10-way power driver and passenger seats, memory driver seat, flow-through console and floor shifter Am I reading this correctly? No 40/20/40 seat with the 6.2L Max trailer tow? If so, seems odd.
  5. Thanks for posting the guide. Looks like I will have everything I want as far as power. Lariat super crew, red/black, max trailer w/6.2L. I am going to like it.
  6. I see some of the 2011 6.7 tests claim some pretty good fuel mileage. Sweet! They also say the reason is no more re-gen using diesel, its urea injected. All well and good, how much urea does the tank hold, what is the cost of the stuff and how much per mile will these engines consume? Anyone have some numbers?
  7. "Criminal investigation of Toyota"..............has a nice sound to it doesnt it?
  8. Copied from Left Lane News..................... What else is the Lariat Limited package likely to come with? Though the pictures show a single awkward looking exhaust tip, the side view shows it’s really two pipes merged into one. Based on that and the loud exhaust note, we expect the Lariat Limited will feature Ford’s all-new 6.2-liter premium V-8 engine, as Ford rolls that engine out to high-end F-150 models. The 6.2-liter is rated at 411-hp and 434 lbs.-ft. of torque in the 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor. Exactly what I want. I hope they know what they are talking about.
  9. You should be head of the F150 Marketing Dept! Sell what the buyers want, charge them for it. I would much rather have a F150 than a SD with the same motor (6.2L). At $3K over std or $1500 over the EB, its a no brainer for me, I would roll with the CU IN any day of the week. Where do I sign?
  10. Hummmmmm, the current 5.4 just doesnt cut it. Tried a F150 with the 5.4. Even with the steeper gearing (I had 4.30's installed), it is pretty week. I just cant see towing with a turbocharged or supercharged gasoline motor. The added heat with boost will be an engine killer. I have seen how short the engine life of a F150 Roush Supercharged 5.4 is and it isnt pretty when towing. I loved my 99 7.3 SD, but the newer diesels (all brands) have a lot of issues with the emissions crap. I just hope the 6.2 will be avaliable in the F150 by the spring. The 6.2 GMC is looking pretty tempting.
  11. Will the 6.2L V8 be available in the std F150 line? I like the power and torque this engine makes but would rather have it in a Lariat 2WD than a Raptor. If it will be made avail in the regular line, is their a target date? My local dealer/s either dont know or wont say. Natch, they want to sell whats on the lot.
  12. I have a 2008 Limited V8 2wd, I could not be happier. When I first got my Trac, I was not at all happy with the 6 speed in my 08 V8 when the bump showed up after 10K miles. After the second TSB, its perfect. I just got back from a 1900 mile trip towing my boat with the ST packed with gear. It tows great, the tranny worked very smoothly the entire trip. Thanks to FoMoCo for really addressing and fixing the issue.....at least for me.
  13. Thanks. I hope this engine package doesnt fall through. I want one in the worst way. Will this motor, maybe detuned but I hope not, be available in the rest of the F150 line at some time?
  14. I want a 6.2 equiped Raptor. Any idea when these will be available?
  15. Yes, it is the same tranny that is in the new F150's and Expy's. I just got my 2008 STV8 back from the dealer for transmission troubles for the 5th time yesterday. The service writer told me the 2009 F150's and Expeditions with this transmission are starting to come in with this same series of issues the Explorers, Mounty's and Sport-Tracs have. How nice for Ford to put this POS transmission in their top selling and most profitable vehicles. I guess the Powertrain Engineers have this issue on ignore.
