  1. A couple of people in this thread were wondering about the happenings at KTP. Just suppling info. :happy feet:
  2. New body shop is NO Where being done. Old box line is still running because of all of the junk the new line is running. I worked 10hrs on the new line last night and we only ran 164 jobs. This is done on the old line in about 3 hours or less. They cant finish the new cab respot line until they remove the old box line. Body Sup. said old box line will stay until the new line is fully ramped up to speed. Night shift body was to be laid off this comming week, they told night shift box line that half the team would go to days on the new line and half to nights. Member of the barg. comm. told me that the July 21 was just put out to keep wall street happy. :blah:
  3. According to the last letter as of May 20, Will start one shift production in June with rotating layoffs.
  4. I think what waloud was saying is that the anticipation of something happening is just as bad as what will happen. It would be nice to hear about a layoff from the union before you hear it on the news on the way home. Thats how my uncle heard about night shift in heavy truck was gone was on 84 whas :blah: on his way into work. Everybody needs their job or we would not be worried about working in the first place. It would be nice to know a little in advance so maybe the affected people could maybe make some kind of plans.
  5. Dayshift boxline and boxsides will not be laid off next week (May 19). They have divided the teams and sent half to days and half to nights on the new boxline. This line is not even close to being ready. There are a lot of problems that still need to be worked out.
  6. Check the master list on the plant web-site under HPS . It is updated. I moved up about 120 spots. The one up front is only updated once or twice a year. Some of the buyouts have to wait until they turn 50. A friend of mine has to wait until December.
  7. I heard today that the order bank for the 2009's is only at about 11,000. Also was told that dayshift body will be down a total of 7 weeks in a row (last 2 weeks of June, the 4 weeks in July and the 1st week in Aug). Now the goodie, ONE SHIFT PLANT WIDE BY AUGUST 1, Cutoff date is now to be July 7, 1995!
  8. Fuel prices will never drop as long as the oil companies keep having their double digit billion dollar profit quarters. Once they get to the next dollar amount ie($4.00) it will never go down. Don't get me wrong I think every company has the right to make a profit, but 7 to 10 billion dollars a quarter is just way to much . I wouldn't mind if they used the money to develop newer fuels to break the oil dependency.
  9. The state did. I found this link to the bill of 2007 but I didnt see any specifics on dates. http://www.kentuckyvotes.org/2007-HB-536 :stats:
  10. I have a friend that works in stock and he took the buyout but is not scheduled to leave until he turns 50 in December. Not all buyouts will be gone by June 1.
  11. Was told today that if we went back to one shift that layoff would go back to April 1995.
