  1. Any word in Tulsa as to when or if the Zeledyne deal will get done?
  2. There was a separate sign up sheet for Kansas City and Chicago the last week of February so some have already signed this and are now eligible to sign up for Memphis, Phoenix or Lima and if there seniority permits they could get one of these. If they can't get one of these they will be headed to Kansas City. I guess if you only signed up for other locations last time you can still sign up for Kansas City now. There was just no mentioning of Kansas City on the paperwork that came out yesterday.
  3. Level, In zone or zone of any kind was never mentioned in this conversation. I stand behind my previous statement. There is no misinterpretation on my part. I have spoken with 10 or so others that were there and all remember the same thing, no mention of zone at all. We were told that if after the buyouts anything else was available, in the Ford system, we would have the opportunity to go there based on seniority.
  4. Has anyone out there seen these location options for flowback? Not saying they are there, just wanting to know. Anyone seen any options for parts depots other than Memphis and Phoenix?
  5. That seems to be the question of the day. It looks as if some ACH plants only have Memphis, Phoenix and Lima listed. If this is the case there are going to be a lot of people signing up for these 20 jobs. Seems all of the openings are in Michigan [over 500] and only Michigan people are getting a shot as these.
  6. The paperwork I received yesterday is as follows: PRODUCTION OPENINGS Lima Engine 6 Memphis HVC [FCSD] 7 Phoenix HVC [FCSD] 7 SKILLED OPENING Kansas City AP 6 Electrician Kansas City AP 3 Stationary Steam Engineer It is not posted but we have been told anyone who signed up for Kansas City will be going there unless they have the seniority to get one of the above.
  7. He said it. No mistakes here. Everyone in the room heard it and everyone I have talked to specificaly remembers these exact words.
  8. At our informational meeting with Frank Keats we were told repeatedly we would be eligible for any openings for flowback in the Ford system after the buyout program. He was asked this 3 times and repeated the same answer each time. Employees signed up for flowback believing this to be true. A lot of these employees would not have signed for flowback had this not been the case. How can the company and the UAW now come back and say you can't sign for these locations because they are out of zone? IT SHOULD NOT BE A QUESTION OF HOW FAR BUT A DECISION TO HONOR COMMITMENTS AND GET THE CORRECT INFORMATION OUT THE FIRST TIME. THIS WHOLE PROCESS OF MISINFORMATION IS GETTING LONG IN THE TOOTH.
  9. Are they just now bringing back the salaried people they let go? Ours were brought back a couple of weeks ago. Have not heard anything of the ACH until 2011 but I have thought we could probably stay and "ride it down". No one is saying if Zeledyne is in or out, so it seems obvious the deal did not get done. I signed up to transfer but am going to elect to do nothing this go around. If you ride it out they still have to make an offer when they close it and I will be retirement eligible next year. Everything we see and hear in Nashville is wierd. Nothing makes sense. Everything we have been told by Local and IUAW has been revised or competely changed. Things seem to change on the hour. Is it any wonder Ford cars and trucks aren't selling with these WIZARDS running the show.
  10. They have developed a scheme to cut the wages of employees. Who will be next?
  11. This is true, but Zeledyne is not a completed deal yet. If this doesn't get done I wonder how long someone could stay at the glass facilities and remain employed by FMC.
  12. Maybe the current IUAW could straighten this mess out that was made by the IUAW then.
  13. I won't be blaming anybody. If it is a closing I will have enough time to be retirement eligible but am not at the present time. Makes a huge difference to some.
  14. Nothing official from management or the UAW yet.
  15. Are you saying closing facilities only have 1 shot. Are you considering NGP as closing? The deal with Zeledyne has not been completing and they have been telling us it was closing for 20 years.
  16. A better question would be, What are these unique terms?
  17. What are the implications for this with the ACH plants that are still in limbo. NGP and TGP sales have not been completed and may not get completed so would they have to sign up to flowback somewhere before it is done deal or wait on the next round?
  18. Does this apply to ACH plants being closed or sold also.
  19. A lot of the VEBA money is invested in Ford stock so it has the potential to dramatically affect VEBA.
  20. Don't make it personal. No whining here, just concern for old friends who could not relocate for various reasons. You may be far removed from worrying about people making $14.50 an hour but people on the floor see the devastation beginning to take place with coworkers lives. I will be staying with Ford. As you said, loyalty is out the window with Zeledyne and when you hire the new workers at the new wage you will begin to realize just how important the loyalty of the Ford employees has been. I guess we just expected to be informed and kept up to date on what is happening with the sale from management.
  21. Is is good to know they are keeping the salaried employees informed and that the executives are going to be receiving a bonus if they get the deal done. At least we don't have to worry about them now, just about how the $14.50 an hour people are going to survive.
  22. GM is also allowing employees with 26 credits to take pre-reitrement leave where Ford is only allowing people with 28 credits to take this option. There are several differences for qualifying for the two companies packages.
  23. Wouldn't you think he DESERVES it. After all, he is smart enough to get 1000's to take a 50% pay cut and then give us a $1000 bonus so he can get the big one.
