  1. I would think the UAW should be fighting like hell to keep any EV production [batteries included] in the US. Like it or not, it is the future. An electric Superduty would be good for that plant but that ain't happening any time soon.
  2. Sorry for so many posts. Be prepared to stand your ground, for your families sake.
  3. Don't be fearful. Be prepared to vote "no" if you don't like the language. Don't get snowballed by the danging carrot, errr the signing bonus.
  4. I heard this this statement back in the 80's from the UAW when I was recalled.
  5. As a retiree, I fill them out yearly on myself if injured, and my family for yearly verification.
  6. There is no such thing with the insurance you are provided. It is only a smokescreen. Your insurance does not pick up where your spouses left off. Never has, never will..........................................
  7. All spouses are not covered. You have to stick together.
  8. They have been working on this since the turn of the century. Count on it.
  9. The UAW is working on your behalf when they get politicians elected that favor the UAW instead of working to defeat organized labor. Do a google search to see what elected officials in Tennessee which is a right to work state, have done to keep the UAW out of the Volkswagon Plant in Chattanooga.[ie Senator BOB CORKER]
  10. You guys need to stay with Ford. It is tough to move, but you will be glad you did when you finally get that pension check and the benefits.
  11. You can only retire at 55 with 20 years service and receive your health insurance if they are offering early retirement packages. Otherwise you must have 85 points or 30 years of service.
  12. He is just trying to add to his 3000 plus useless post. Maybe someone on here can help you.
  13. . I don't have any inside knowledge but I can confirm sales dictate how many crews will run. Just saying.....I always thought my next new vehicle would be an Escape, but that thing is butt ugly compared to the one it replaced. Ford needs to do something in the small SUV and or truck market or I will look elsewhere. Never thought I would but I can see the day coming.
  14. Twelve fifty an hour won't support a family down here. Nissan seems to only hire "burger flippers" down here that are getting a raise by coming to work for them. They have it well planned out. I have many friends from high school and all walks of life that work at Nissan. They are scared to death of even talking about voting for the UAW. They have been "trained well" by Nissan management. It is going to be a long and hard fight to unionize this plant but I hope it will happen. I have talked to some of the employees but they will not listen to reason. These people have a job that pays a wage they thought they could never make. They have been a "thorn in the side" of UAW workers for many years. It will take a very calculated effort to organize this plant and quite frankly we haven't seen this yet. The 12.50 an hour wage is for contracted labor. Nissan is not hiring new Nissan workers.
  15. Glad to see it is working out for you and HB. I sure don't remember this being one of the options the IUAW reps covered with us. After transfering to Memphis and getting 3 credits added back to my retirement, I have now been retired for 2 years. I would have probably gone your route had I known it was available.
  16. And Tulsa rejected the Zeledyne contract 90% to 10% for. THE FIRST TIME.
  17. Rumor in Nashville is that they are going to stick a fork in Tulsa, "they are done".
  18. Just curious. What increases did the company give to the hourly employees in the last 2 years?
  19. A few years ago there was a group I think called Holden that wanted to do final assembly in the US.
  20. You are expressing my point now. Divide and you will be able to conquer. I have mine. I just want to see you guys stick together for a change. It is time for one division to stop selling other divisions out if the UAW is to survive. Do you really think powertrain, or even assembly are untouchable? Do you really think Ford would not outsource assembly?
