  1. You must be one of the union boys. They go around telling everyone how everyone likes this 4 crew. The union boys got to keep there 8 hour days. Way to lead boys! There are vary few trades that do like this 4 crew. Let me tell you all that the majority of the trades at LAP hate this 4 crew. We want our 8 hour days back. We want the choice to work 12's if we want & not have it forced on us. Rumor is KTP will be keeping its 5 crew.
  2. We have been on this AWS for about a year now at LAP. Most of the trades that I talk to hate it. Supervision in final are going back to an 8 hour day because they say it is to stressful working 12's. What a joke. Something need's to be done this next contract to get us back to an 8 hour day.
  3. 4 crew for trades will also be happening at LAP. No overtime will be the norm.
  4. Lap will not be adding that many trades when they go to the 3rd shift/crew. The UAW talked it up like they are adding a lot of Trades just to get trades to sign up for production. Giving you false hope that you will have a short wait to go back to trade. I have seen the Trade number on the floor now working and the number coming in to work production. Going to be a lot of trades that will never see there trades again. Have not herd of one trades man taking a buyout at LAP.
  5. Yep, there is a MW with 2010 Seniority working at LAP. Been working for over a year as a temp. There is also other trades that have been working as temps. longer. They came off the line.
  6. You will be getting your chance brother only 5 MW's signed up for Chicago & 0 welders
  7. Looks to be some confusion as to how the new Hierarchy is. Looks like my skilled trades rep. was miss informed. The paperwork lists steps 1-5 in the Hierarchy paperwork I have for the 10 Millwright openings.
  8. Just saw the rec for 4 welder's last night for Chicago.
  9. From what I was told from my skilled trades rep. The contract did not change from the last one. If you have someone from your plant on ILO in your trade a higher Seniority worker can bid on it.
  10. Trades do not loose anytime when they go to production. They have ILO status from there trade while working production.
  11. You reasoning about the company not paying skilled trade wages to work production is spot on. Ford knows with mechanical teams in place vary few trades will get back to there tools. Ford does not want to pay these trades there wages for the next 10 to 20+ years. I am currently working in a mechanical team environment. You people that are cheerleaders saying that this will get the trades more work must have no experience with it. If you did work in one you would realize this will do nothing but cut the trade numbers required to run a plant.
  12. Was told several months back that the international was trying to talk Lima into putting on 5 MW's. Nothing ever became of it. If they have other trades filling in doing the work my guess is that lima does not need core trades. With these M.O.A., Helping Hands, Work Groups. What ever you want to call it. It is cutting into job's.
  13. You are wrong not all of the temp's are on construction at MAP. Some of the temp's are filling in on permanent jobs (covering production). The international never stepped in when the temps were being treated like shit at Vandyke. They had to take it to the NLRB to make sure that they were treated equally. The fallout of winning that with the NLRB was that any temp working in a ford plant would now get over time along side the permanent employes. Shortly after the NLRB ruling Livonia transmission laid off there temp's. They were not going to share OT with temp's. Isa is tearing out south body at Wayne with contractors. They refused to bring in temp's because of having to share the OT. Were was the international here? They know what is going on but refuse to step in. You are right there is no contractual language to bring in extra people into a plant be it trades or production. But it has happened in the past. There is opening at some of these plants but they are using contractors or temp's to fill the slots. That is a fact. Can they place all the temp's. No. But some. Yes.
