  1. I hear that the biggest problem in Lima is that that the supervision and hr are a bunch of incompetent drunks. Taco tuesdays down at the neiborhood bar, bowling on wednesdays, golfing binges in florida. the salary in the new engine line are the worst. everynight after work its a big drunkfest and they can't hardley get to work the next day! If an hourly person happens to wonder into "their bar", they harass them until they leave. This shouldn't be tolerated. My buddy there says that salary has taken over the moose club, golf clubs, eagles club, ect. In my neck of the woods, they have their own place and don't come to ours. Sounds like arrogance to me. There are ways to break these parties up folks. dif. culture up here i guess. Good Luck Lima, seems like you still have alot going for you. The other problems like the drunks will take care of themselves.
  2. Did you ever get your plant manager?
  3. His last name is Stewart and he is coming from Lima. The word is that he will be going back to Lima in another year.
  4. Tell us about all the 2nd stage grievances that have been turned down and now your union wont file 3rd stage because its too close to contract time. Sounds like your 2 term chairman must be getting a position at the international level! Hang on to your asses he wont be much help at this point.
  5. Just read where Van Dyke is going to lay off trades. We are hearing that Lima has many local contractors tearing out the old engine lines. They must be getting ready for the work group pilot program also, cause we hear that other trades like toolmakers and machine repairmen are helping the welders. Are they also driving hi-lo's?? They're local has been contacted but they say they dont need millwrights or other trades from other locals that are layed off!! What is they're reasoning ? Lima sent millwrights and welders to other plants last year when they were layed off but can't reciprocate?? Here comes another pilot program from good ol Lima !! By the way why are they tearing out right now? Right before contract? HMMMMM Must be getting some new work. anyone have any particulars ??
  6. Staff people are telling us that a general contractor, Walbridge-tuttle, is moving in to start tearout next month. We hear 15 + acres of roofing replaced, old equip scrapped, and starting on new floor. Heard the names Weery, cavlage, and veerhof coming back to help. Sounds good for you people in Lima, the people that told us had names, numbers ect. and sounded like they knew what they were talking about.
  7. Must be of italian descent? Can he say Limer? Send em another idiot down there in Lima they will make something out of him or her.
  8. Good! maybe he'll take Weaver and Risner with him. They can make him look good wherever he goes!
  9. We are hearing that Lima is doing a time study on the assy line. Is this being done by your own supervisors? Sounds like they have way too many salary and are wanting to cut hourly to make room for them. What were all the extra salary doing before they added them to the assy line to watch everyone? Hang on to what you have! Sounds like good times are coming. When will hourly get a chance to do a time study on salary? That wont happen since the hourly wouldn't have time since they are all working. Ford would have to hire some people for that! By the way Lima, what happened to the two low seniority people that were still working? Any of that situation change?
  10. Can employees really direct their union dues to go to a charity rather than the union? What about union representation? I thought we agreed to this when we signed the paperwork for employment.
  11. Can we actually do that? Redirect our dues to charity? Would that get their attention or what?
