Thanks for the info.. Unfortunately, my husband retired due to medical reasons with 27 yrs of service which would exclude me anyway.

I'm a surviving spouse and was eligible for this bonus.. After reading this forum, I contacted the retirement board and was told that EVERYONE lost it, including retiree's :-(

I signed up for Saline prior to the announcement that new jobs were coming into Rawsonville. I asked a Committee Person if we would go back to Rawsonville when those new jobs come in. I was told that if anyone is laid off during the time jobs came in AND there is work available at Saline, they will fill the positions at Rawsonville with those laid off first and we would remain at Saline. If we're still at Saline and it closes, sells etc.. we will go back to our home plants by bumping lowest seniority.

Also need to add... He mentioned 10 years of seniority is what you will need to stay working!

Sorry motiontf... I have better things to due than STIR THE POT! I'm passing on information from an alternate committee person who told us this last week. How much truth to this, I don't know. Regardless of what you think, it makes allot of since to me!

Sorry, I should have clarified that statement... A mass layoff throughout the company not just Saline. Once everyone is placed, they will layoff lowest seniority company wide. Again, I'm not sure how much truth there is to this, but considering everything going on... It sounds logical!

Absolutely... I heard the same thing from an alternate committee person. Once JSP is cleared out and everyone is placed, there will be a mass layoff reducing lowest seniority in each plant company wide. I'm not sure how accurate this information is, however; by looking around and seeing unnecessary shifts being added, etc... this sounds very logical to me.

Who said "Pulse" was a he? If my memory serves right, there is a FEMALE Committee Person who refers to people as "Folks".

I spoke with a friend from AAI who is going to Saline this Monday.... He said approx 33 are going from AAI and the other 17 from other facilities.

It's almost like gambling, instead of winning money our job is the prize. At our Union Meeting this past weekend, Joel stated that Rawsonville is on the chopping block once again! With that being said, what is one to do? Going to Saline is very risky, although; IF Ford bought the plant back, this could end up being a good move. Without a crystal ball, nobody can see into the future. It does say that going to Saline is a long term temporary position. Rawsonville is suppose to be getting the kit job which will create 80 jobs, however; this job is not coming for at least 6 months. From my understanding, IF the kit job does come in, they will be calling people back from Saline by seniority. Either way, it's going to be a HUGE cluster F***!

Sorry, I was unaware they were passing them out. I work off the main isle, talked with a couple union reps that day and still didn't get one. Regardless, I received one in the mail today!

I believe JSP is back to the end of May 98 - June 98. I heard packets will be sent out very soon explaining the options, etc... Unfortunately, I really cannot tell you much. Things are changing daily and any information I share with you may be correct today; however, will more than likely change by tomorrow. It's definitely a wait and see situation. Just because that letter was posted at your plant, doesn't mean it was posted at every plant. I work at Rawsonville and never seen it posted. I just received a copy of it in the mail today!
