A Millwright from Saline who just got his hours in as an apprentice and graduated last week, flowed back as a PRODUCTION employee on monday to Dearborn Truck Plant. The thing is, he was in orientation at DTP on monday morning and they asked if anyone had a Journeyman's card and he said he did, and they asked him what it was in and he said a Millwright. Then they asked him if he'd rather be a production employee or a tradesman, and of course he said a tradesman. Apparently they needed a Millwright, but instead of posting it around the company, they went this route. So now he is the newest Millwright at DTP. This was found out because he called back to the Millwrights at Saline to brag about it. The union at Saline was contacted and found out it was true. The Millwrights at Saline are livid! There is talk of a lawsuit, but what really can you do? It isn't fair, that's for sure. If this is what we're all up against, we're not going to get a job at another plant for a long time! I guess seniority doesn't mean much and they just do as they please. What do you guys think about this?
