  1. Another correction to add. When I talked to Pete today he said the Millwright in question went to Diversified, which I guess is the frame division of the Truck Plant? I'm not familiar with all the plants, so I'm not sure what the difference is, but I guess it's a separate building. Anyway, he's at Diversified.
  2. Well if Chuck knows, it puzzles me that Pete wouldn't know, but I guess they have a lot on their plate so maybe they haven't touched base yet. Oh well, time will tell where the truth lies. I too know the Millwright in question, but I don't have his number or I would have called him as well. Thanks for all the posts concerning my need to post the truth. Hey, I have to look at myself every morning in the mirror and like what I see. My dad taught me when I was a boy that without integrity, a man has nothing. I try to live by those words. We'll pass on the info here when we find out what the deal is.
  3. Okay this is a follow up post. I don't want to start any rumors that aren't true. What I wrote first is what I heard from what I considered a reliable source. But after level said it isn't true, I thought I'd better find out for myself. I just talked to Pete Graham, the Chairman at Saline, and he had not heard anything about this but was very interested in finding out since he'll need an answer for people that ask him about it. So he made a call and left a message for someone that is supposed to get back to him and I asked him to get back to me on it. Since the part the Millwrights told me about the "union" finding out that this was true wasn't right, I thought I'd better find out myself. So until Pete gets back to me, we'll have to consider this just a rumor. Maybe someone is trying to stir up a hornet's nest. They're succeeding in that part here at Saline. When I find out what Pete says, I'll add to this post. I'm sorry for any misinformation I gave in the first posting.
  4. The Millwrights at Saline told me that they went to the union after the Millwright in question called them and bragged about it and the union checked into it and said it was true. Whether anyone wants to believe it is up to them. I was just passing along the information I was told.
  5. A Millwright from Saline who just got his hours in as an apprentice and graduated last week, flowed back as a PRODUCTION employee on monday to Dearborn Truck Plant. The thing is, he was in orientation at DTP on monday morning and they asked if anyone had a Journeyman's card and he said he did, and they asked him what it was in and he said a Millwright. Then they asked him if he'd rather be a production employee or a tradesman, and of course he said a tradesman. Apparently they needed a Millwright, but instead of posting it around the company, they went this route. So now he is the newest Millwright at DTP. This was found out because he called back to the Millwrights at Saline to brag about it. The union at Saline was contacted and found out it was true. The Millwrights at Saline are livid! There is talk of a lawsuit, but what really can you do? It isn't fair, that's for sure. If this is what we're all up against, we're not going to get a job at another plant for a long time! I guess seniority doesn't mean much and they just do as they please. What do you guys think about this?
  6. There is work being transferred from here in Saline to KC, I believe the Escape work. Because of that, there was an opportunity at our plant only for one of each trade to flow back to KC along with the work being transferred. That's why there are trades going there, from what I understand.
  7. We have some people from here in Saline going to dearborn truck this month from our recent flowback opportunity. I guess they took all the people that applied for it and are needing more. It seems the people that are going aren't too happy because for some of them it was their 4th choice. Maybe they shouldn't have signed for the truck plant at all if they didn't really want to go there? I dunno, I'm waiting until they pat me on the shoulder and say "we don't need you anymore". I'm not panicking at this point. We haven't even got a contract ironed out with Johnson Controls yet. :reading:
