a 93 will hold days for right now,....There is only 1 shift and a few skeletons on afternoons. Yes we are adding another shift but that is on 6r, and its not that many jobs as compared to the 4r line. So when the other shift starts, 75-80% will be on days. Life here is alot different than it was. It used to be alot of fun. times change,,,,the only thing i still believe is that despite their are 3 trans plants..Livonia is too important, to big, to centrally located with a heat treat, test track, powerhouse for the city of Livonia for them to not put some kind of new work here soon or in the near future. Who knows..its just what i believe..

You son is a '94 hire, my beef is with people with more seniority than him, who chose to take the only open job to us in the JSP. Quite frankly, the people with 20-30 yrs who left a job in Livonia to take a job at WAP can go F-themselves and they are now finding themselves the luckiest people in the world to be able to come back to Livonia. It is no secret that Livonia is know as the Country Club of Ford, going to a real factory would suck.

Well, I hate to sound like a stick in the mud, but i got a call to go back to Livonia on Monday also. The only difference is i was put into the JSP back in June, with no work and people like your son, who had a job in Livonia, voluntarily signed up to go to Wayne. As far as i know, contractually, they cant be allowed back for a minimum of 6 months. It was the same deal when alot of the really low seniority were let go a few years ago and went to the Mazda plant. If he was allowed to have a job at Livonia, then voluntarily leave to Wayne, and now after working for 5 months gets to come back to Livonia, well, good for him. The contract works in strange ways.

At least you are honest, I sight the wages under bush because in the plant, all i ever here is how great the economy was under clinton. Yet, the same reasons his economy was good, are the same problems that caused this economy to collapse, ie..ultra low interest rate, dot com IPO's, housing market loans. If anyone really thinks that one president over another will get back the jobs we have lost, are really not looking at reality or history. the auto industry has done nothing but lose jobs due to business decisions and market forces. I would rather vote for the candidate who will do the best job running the country, not pandering to the unions with nothing to back it up.

i think McCain wins in a squeaker, lots of lawyers and dimpled chads and Acorns i have been in unions for 20 years, i have been a conservative my whole life i dont believe in socialism i have made more money under the Bush years than the Clinton years, go figure show me, one thing that any democrat has done, passed a law, something that has helped the auto worker in the last 20 years. Mcain was not my first choice, but i just cant vote for a socialitst liberal with an incredible lack of any substance what so ever.

What is this? The great and all powerful WAP may have down time? but all those great, wonderful higher seniority folks at my plant left for WAP because they had O.T. Why they didnt stop to consider that they already had a secure job, that us folks with 11+ years and more were laid off with the only chance of a plant assignment, in Michigan was WAP. Well things do have a way of coming full circle and karma coming back to bite people in the arse. You people that left a job at livonia, to steal away a some of the only chances some of us had, can just choke on the downtime. There,................i feel better. Oh, and dont be calling us back either, not yet anyway, i am in school, got a great part time job. Call me when we are either running full or dropping the ax.

hey general I know this may have been covered already, but do you know what happens if i get called back out of the JSP...if later down the road i get put back in, is my first time still part of my "2years"? and, do you know of anything that allows them to kick us out of the JSP and be put on permanent lay off......................

just settle down now everybody.......just relax....and help explain something to me........ I got thrown into the JSP at the end of june from Livonia..then they put more laid off more over the next month...about 450ish in all. The first posting for WAP was 400 jobs..of which i got one.............until they pulled the posting....reposted now for only 180ish jobs......we we told and from what i read on here that MTP and WAP share local...yada yada they get first crack a WAP jobs.. In the meantime...some of my great Brothers and sisters (most i believe were transfers from wixom),,,took the jobs at WAP...they were already working...i was not...the only place in state i could get job was at Wayne,,but these guys took that away from me... So......if MTP is still working...and be allowed to transfer to KTP and being allowed to have jobs saved for them at Wayne..........................WHAT THE HELL IS THE UNION DOING FOR ME?

just heard today that Livonia may be taking back 80 people or so from the JSP. but it may only be temporary. If you get called back in,,then they lay you off again...do you go back to GEN or to ILO??

well, thank you to everyone who replied. I took it into auto zone today and got a 0306 and 0316 code. Number 6 cylinder misfireing. Bought a new coil and spark plug, my brother-in-law came over and swapped them out and presto...runs like it should. now, can auto zone clear the check engine light.

hey guys, i know this may not be the best place for this, but this just happened today. My wife's F150 supercrew, 2002, 8cl. started running kind of bad when i put the gas pedal down. kind of a stuttering, but would coast ok, and in neutral it sounded ok. I looked up some stuff and found i should and will take to autozone to check the engine codes, (the service engine soon light came on) to see what it may be. has this happened to anyone, my first thought was a fuel filter. thanks

Originally at Livonia, there were 22 in ILO, 320 in gen,, then another 120-150 added to gen. After the postings and some of our fine high seniority folks who already had a job, left to goto wayne and elswhere, they called some people back off of the gen pool. I do not know the number, say 100 or less. which still leaves around 320+ in gen and ILO

no, i was not in 305, i was in the real part of the plant on the north end in machining. Yes the old timers are bitching, they stayed because they convinced themselves that they would still get O.T.....gosh they are dumb... most people in the plant know me,,,,,i'd rather not say right now. oh,,we were put in on June 21.

So i thought i would start this to see how everyone else is doing. Sound off on what your plans for the future are. My story: I am in the JSP from Livonia with 98 seniority. I signed up for wayne both times, got it the first, did not get in on the second. Between the higher seniority in our JSP and the really high seniority working in are plant that took jobs at Wayne, i did not get called back to livonia either. So, that leaves me on the 85% roles and i am currently enrolled into school to get a degree in the medical field. I will be starting a part time job soon on the weekends and go to school during the week. My thoughts are, that i may never be asked to step into a ford plant again, there are just no openings. So time to plan for a new career.

what i want is just a place to work. Moving out of state right now is not an option, and if i am not able to get into wayne, Livonia is not taking us back anytime soon, where do we go?. It us just a damn shame to lose i job i have held for over 10yrs. our local told us they were putting us into the jsp early,in late june, so we could have first crack at getting into Wayne. Obviously that plan was blown all to heck. But also, when the jobs went up for bid, everyone in our plant was able to sign up. I saw the canceled list, and someone from Liv. with 1973 senority signed up to go to wayne. Now, how am i or anyone else in the JSP or ILO supposed to feel about some selfish old codger who has a job but goes and signs up for something better and takes away a job from someone who doesn't have one? the sad fact is that mine and others days at ford are most certainly gone. I dont see how or where we will be able to get a job. thats why i am trying to go back to school and get a degree, but at 42, that really sucks.

I find it funny that we can save jobs for MTP, but when Livonia took in a couple of hundred wixom, sheldon rd, and mazda folks, we were told it was the national contract that prevailed. We did not need them, they all had high seniority, and now, me and a couple hundred other folks were booted out while they got to stay. so now, the only place that has jobs locally, we cannot go to because people who already are still working are having a job saved for them for later because of a local contract. Which is more important, the local or the national?

So i had originally been offered a job at WAP, before everything was put on hold. Now i understand that MTP and WAP share the same local, and their were some discussion on these boards the MTP's got first crack at Wayne. My question is, since there are now almost 200 less jobs at Wayne, did they reserve the other 200 for MTP? How do i have a chance now to get into Wayne with all the people out now? lastley, if they did indeed save jobs for MTP, why wasnt it ok for all them to sign up like everyone who was already working, laid off, in the JSP of ILO?

hey, i can finally post on here....yes i am one of those JSP Livonia guys who was called just a few days ago to report at wayne assy. on august 4th. so is this just a rumor or should i be getting another call monday?? on the other issue, we were told that the four plant openings were open to everyone in ford. As it is, alot of my fellow union brothers and sisters who were lucky enough to stay at livonia, signed up to go to wayne because they think they will get O.T. there. Ah, hellooo,,,,McFly? they are adding a 3rd shift at stamping so it will be 8 hrs. Apparently keeping a job have while a get booted out the door isn't good enough for them...they have to sign up and take the one job i am eligble for. Yes....i know it is contract,,,but that is sad. We still had over 600 out of the 1500 left a month ago elilgble to retire. now, i hear they want to get down to 600 because of all the cuts. It could leave livonia with 30+year and up....
