  2. Geez..i leave for a few days and my thread gets hijacked and turned into a seniorty fight. thats not what this was about. I am just skeptical..of a guy's motive ......who happens to have 44 years and has been in ..like 4 different plants?? He claims that he is concerened for the membership...but cant bring one thing that would help us . The membership has been served this same way for 50 yrs. So ..according to him...the current membership is too stupid to know what is good for them...and luckily he arrived just in time to save us from ourselves. And..he is also saying the every retiree..who built this plant and its reputation...didnt know what they were doing and if ONLY he could have been here back then..they would all be better off because he could have split the pres/chair
  3. But...our plant has always been different..we dont do what all the other plants do. Our local has always been stronger or stronger then most. The plant has always been successful.... But fo some guy..with 44 yrs seniorty..who has only been here two months...to come in here like a bull in a china shop...telling us his way is better just because "Other locals do it"...sorry..not good enough reason...its seems very self serving and all about him. Nothing he said was directed about the benifits to the membership . Looks like just another bitter old man who wont retire and wants to make a new cake job for himself to ride out into his retirement
  4. Correct. And this local ..over the last 50 yrs..have had the chance to do that...but chose not to. When we pass 1500..we get a full time VP back ...my understanding is if we split...we lose our veep. Personally...i would rather have two on the floor instead of one here..one across the street
  5. Good grief....what are these peoples problem with Livonia? They are losing their product..we are gaining more then any other plant in the Ford system...and yet they come over here trying to change our bylaws...for what reason?
  6. Yes...that is what seniority was about....except when our guys got laid off and went to FRAP...they went to bottom of the list...so much for seniority. When Wixom closed...they laid off 150-200 of our guys...sent them then right to frap and dearborn...then..they brought the same amount of wixom to our plant.......so why not keep our people here..and send them to the open jobs...not take ours... There was some weird shuffleing of people....and we always seem to get the short stick...and.then. bring in everyone else and give them everything....sorry...maybe thays the way it works...but it left a bitter taste around here. Your right..we dont know what splitting the chairman-pred will do....its only been like that for over 50 yrs..and im sure some guy with '71 seniority..who hasnt even given Livonia a chance to see how things work..wants to change it...then.run for office.... sorry...a little suspicious to me that this guys first order.of business is to try and get a job that does nothing ...just to get out of work. And that is the same attitude their people have too. its not whiny....these guys came.over here..expecting to take all of the gravy jobs...hint...there are.none..and got pissed off when they realized it was not as they thought. if your seniority people were so great and righteous....they should have stayed at MAP and let the lowere seniority come here so they werent laid off..

I've never seen such a bunch of whiny, arrogant, self-serving, non union, non Ford driving little bitches in my life. Coming here...trying to take jobs that don't belong to them. You get whatever open that's how it works. Trying to change our union, trying to change how we do our president and chairman, asking for work and departments that don't even exist anymore. ACTING like because they have his seniority that they should just get handed everything.sorry that's not how it works here. Sorry our plant got 1.8 billion dollars in investments and your plan is being sent to Mexico I guess we know who's doing good and who's doing bad and for those map people that say they woulda never came over had they knew..well..you can go back ....we don't want you here The parking lot is filled with Chryslers and Gm.....i dont care if you have family working for them...you work here...drive a dang Ford

  10. Just wanted to thank you all for all your hard work and quality. My step-daughter rear ended an suv with her 2010 Focus last night and only walked away shakened up and a bruised left arm. Car was totaled..air bag went off...the car protected her and saved her from a serious injury. I am currently on my 4th focus...and love it. Damn shame Ford wants.to move production...i dont know if i will be able to buy another one if made in Mexico.
  11. we are expecting to go from 800 total workers to over 3000 in the next 3 years we already are hiring skilled trad off the street
  12. ok...so this is what started this thread? i just got caught up. I'm not sure where this guy gets his info,,but this is not true as far as i know. just so you know...i am on the executive board...so i should know something...lol. what i can tell you is there is still some resentment from our people how our guys were treated during all the layoffs since the early 2000's. they didnt get to keep their seniority when they were transfered to frap and dearborn....as far as i can remember...because they were pissed about it. then we laid guys off,,then 2 months later,,we brought in Wixom and Sheldon Rd people to fill the 6-speed..all had higher seniority and got to keep it. our biggest question..was...wixom and sheldon were already laid off,,,and there were openings. at Frap and dearborn...why not send them there and keep our guys here....seemed like alot of movement and displacing our guys.. i understand that yes...its in the National Contract..just seemed shitty. So we dealt with it until 2008,,,when i got laid off along with 500 others...and 475 jobs where posted at Wayne assembly...i bid...i got one..then a day later it was suspended...the 2 weeekks later it was canceled..reposted as only 175 jobs...i did not get one,,,and stayed laid off for 6 months along with alot of other guys. The arguement we heard is the Wayne cried and fought because Mich truck was shutting down in dec...this was june...and they needed those openings for thier people...and they got it...we felt kinda screwed.....and it seemed like when it came to Livonia...we kept getting screwed while we took care of everyone elses laid off employees... its not an excuse..but maybe some insight as to why we feel that way over here. And now..we knew we were getting the 2 tier plant high seniority and now the MAP just adds more...everytime we gain seniority,,we keep getting knocked back down. with in 3 years we will go from 800 to 3000+ employees skilled and unskilled. So yea.Livonia is a great place to be..and yes even though its not the same as it used to be,,,we are still spoiled. 4-crew does suck,,but its here to stay,,and the line sux....but we are not putting on bumpers or tires..so.... hope that helps a little

  14. The new line isnt supposed to be up and running until Jan-Feb of next year. They dont have exact numbers of what they need and when they need them..but probably fall or late fall. you all know how they do things. One day they will wake up and realize they need 200 people yesterday...then start posting like crazy. We we hoping to hire new guys...hopefully from our own members...but with MAP layoff..throws a wrench in that plan. We already were expecting 200-500 from Sterling..Romeo..and Rawsonville..

  17. Livonia put on 5 elec and 2 Toolmakers last fall. Should be 35 more apprentices over the next year or so and we have to hire off the street..we will add 200 trades over the next 3 years The status of MAPs trades is new...we will see how that works. But with all the work we have here we know we will get an influx of "Legacy" employees..skilled and unskilled.
  18. Paraphrasing enjoy the low gas prices but dont get used to it. I guess Obama wants to raise gas prices so he can help line the pockets of Big Oil with obscene profits.
  19. Saw and spoke to Bob King briefly at a golf outing. My buddy asked if we would see some raises In this next contract...he said...well..we still need to bring the second tier up higher first... Orly??...so those of us who have been here..sacrificed..gave concessions to make Ford profitable..We still Dont deserve a raise? The union turned thier back on their principles when agreeing to a whole second tier..fair days pay For a fair days work. Now we are looking at 3 crew and 4crew rotating schedules here in Livonia for the coming new year. So i have almost 20 yrs in..in my mid 40's..and the union thinks agreeing to schedules that forces me to work 12 hr shifts every day and working every or every other weekend for straight time...for my last 10-15 years Is a good idea?

  21. I bought a new Focus today. My 2001 Focus had 250,000 miles on it and 2 too many deer run-ins. Just thought i would share. I have friends that left Livonia and are at WAP, just wanted you all to know you did a really nice job and i just couldnt buy a Fusion or wait for Fiesta because they are made in Mexico. Anyone else have anything positive going on?
  22. Dont know if this has been posted but Livonia Trans voted it down. Funny thing about it, no total yes no was give,...just production yes/no. and trades yes/no. You had to stand there and figure out the math to see that it was voted down.
