  1. I agree that a V8 should still be a choice for powering the GT but why not offer the EB V6 as well. Have both engines as options because from what i hear, there are more engines in the upcoming Mustang lineup than there has been in my lifetime (1989-).
  2. Its going to be a long road for Lincoln to finally get back to being a trusted or well liked luxury brand. I personally think that the MKS is a good stepping stone but they need the MKR and a flagship to replace the Towncar that can at least attempt competing vs. LS460 and perhaps the Genesis.
  3. How much would this all cost. A DI 4 cyl. or an EB 4 cyl. would cost way more than the ancient 4.0 v6. Would the base price with a DI or EB 2.5 be too high? Under $21K since a 300hp Camaro starts at like $23K.f
  4. I will be doing the same. Still be a shame that such an icon dies and that I never got to get a brand new Ford.
  5. Turbo Hybrid? That's different. Maybe just different enough to make a difference, but then again maybe too much. Still a cool idea. Anybody know anything about the Coyote 5.0L V8?
  6. I didn't even think of a naturally aspirated I4. What's the weight difference between the 1999-2004s and the newer Mustangs? Is the 175hp that the 2.5L puts out enough to propel one efficiently? Could it even lead to a hybrid?
  7. The last thing the Mustang needs is to be a rice burner but a decent fuel efficient cruiser will do it well. Maybe some special exhaust to make sound less 4 cyl. like or maybe nearly silent.
  8. I haven't even got a chance to help by buying one yet. I have a used 1999 Explorer. I hope to buy either a 2012 Mustang or 2012 F150. Hope i get the chance.
  9. I heard today that if Ford and GM fail then the nation may lose 1.2 million jobs between them and their suppliers even though some of the suppliers are also used by Honda and Toyota. I just don't understand how a company like Ford that is doing so well abroad, like they seem to be, can't find a way to save the home base and founding company from destruction. Is there no links between the markets at all?
  10. They could just shove the perps. in the trunk of the Mustang I'm attempting to make a Taurus Interceptor but my limited skills are proving to be a major obstacle. It would also cost way more than the Crown Vic, just like the Flex but so do the other makes police package cars.
  11. I want there to still be a Ford Motor Company for me to buy my first new car from in 2012 and beyond. I don't want to have to buy a Japanese vehicle when the time comes to put my Explorer out to pasture. So "Santa"... save Ford.
  12. I didn't even think of the price, but in order to cost as little as the Crown Vic the only option would be a Fusion and that would be a bit small for that role. A Mustang interceptor would be a nice touch. :shades:
  13. That's what i figured. If the EB I4 does produce around 260hp it will be as powerful as the 1999-2003 GT's.
  14. Yeah and with the EB 3.5 it would probably be none to shabby in a pursuit. Better than a 250hp Crown Vic Interceptor.
  15. I thought of the EB V6 as more of a GT and Mach1 engine depending on tune. 350hp for gt 390-410hp for mach 1 base gets DI V6 at about 300hp
  16. In this climate of fuel efficiency being the top priority it all i can hope for. A full size bronco built off of the F150 or Expedition would be preferable. A nice, big, comfortable, and capable two door Suv. With a 6.2L V8 and a six speed manual, yep thats what i would really like, but with no guarantee of gas staying at 2.15 a gallon and with the new cafe, a smaller Bronco like the concept would be fine. :shades:
  17. I thought that a Flex Interceptor would be interesting. With the Crown Vic now only fleet and going out in 2011 if not before, Ford needs a new interceptor and without any chance of the Interceptor concept coming to production why not. The photo isn't that great but its one of my first photoshops.
  18. There are Flex's all over the place here in Erie pa. I was kind of surprised to see so many. I think alot of people have traded in Explorers and Expeditions on them.
  19. Is there any chance of a RWD Lincoln Flagship coming down the pike to take on the STS or LS460 or anything like those? Or even something smaller or more coupe like to take on the Passat CC or MB CLS type cars.
  20. What about an EB 2.4 or 2.5 I4. I seem to have brought this up before for the Mustang and Explorer. Why not use them in the Flex, and Taurus as well as the Edge, and Escape. It could be like the 302 was in the seventies and be available pretty much across the range.
  21. Is it possible that the next gen. Mustang could have a EB I4 as its base engine? From what I've read, an Ecoboost 2.4L could produce 260hp easily. That's 50 more than the current V6. With a 4 cyl. gas mileage could be close if not over 30 mpg highway. For a "Secretary Car" i really think it would be a nice option at least.
  22. Any chance of a manual tranny in the upcoming Explorer. My granddad had a 97 with one and i found it kind of cool. An EcoBoost I4 4x4 with one would be awesome. Pretty good mpg too.
  23. This comes as a shock to me. I was hoping to get one as a college graduation gift to myself. I hope its not so.
  24. What about an Eco-boost 2.5L I4 as the base engine. Tuned to about 240hp. That bests the current 4.0L v6 by 30hp. For a midsize reg cab 4x4 that should do the trick and probably deliver close to 30mpg highway. I'll take it with a 6 spd man. :D
  25. I think the Crown Victoria name should be dropped in favor of something more nostalgic. Like Galaxie for instance.
