Last time I was here, we discussed this on another thread. The UAW has a bad name because the public sees how they fight for the drunks, awols and other losers who don't ever go to work. I even watched a drunk guy fall into a machine in the body shop- but he got his job back because he's related to one of the guys at the hall. Stand up for people who go to work every day, not the relatives of the people who think their sh*t don't stink.

I'm sitting and shaking my head. Every Republican who voted against this loan needs to be voted out. When GM files bankruptcy, will the republicans suffer? No, it's those who work on the line, day in and day out.

your right, the union needs to stand up for people who work for a living. it's not easy working on the line, it's hard work. the union should be telling people that. We stand on our feet for 8 hours every day, not behind a desk. maybe people wo'nt be so anti union if they knew how hard we work. I've have broken bones, stitches, bruises and all kinds of injuries from my job. no body heres our side of the story, they just only know what they are fed in the media.

At the KCAP, our union reps don't explain shit. Did you get to keep your health insurance if you took the buyout? I'm talking about putting 21 years of hard work into Ford and leaving with no health insurance. Getting a new job is a scary proposition and I think that will change when bush packs up his office and goes.

Yes, I totally agree. The guy down the line from me came to work so drunk he fell into the machine. He's one of the union leader's nephew, so he was well taken care of and still has his job. This is ALL politics, from the drunk on the line to the CEO's at the begging table. Why aren't we holding each other accountable for what our fellow person is doing to drag down Ford?
