I asked my dealer to install the OEM remote starter. Instead, they installed something else (Code Alarm CA 421). Not what I wanted and now I'm trying to figure out what's next. Most annoyingly, it requires a separate piece of hardware for the button that activates the remote starter instead of being integrated into the key. The manager at the dealer told me that the OEM system is the same way (two pieces of hardware). Is that true? If they already installed this other system, did they already compromise the car's wiring? or does that system also work correctly with SecuriLock without requiring wire-splicing? It's not even a matter of money. I would have paid extra for the thing to be right and not look like I got it from Best Buy.
