1. Truth, you have spoken the Truth. May God be with you. Vio con Dios. etc. :tequila:
2. The two tiered system is the work of the Devil his very self, and the fact that this brother isn't even aware of what it is is very distressing. Divide. Conquer. Pretty basic stuff. At Saline we currently have 3 divides. 1)"Dark Blue" (Ford Workers who have been here forever). 2)"Light Blue" (Ford Workers on indefinite loan from other "Ford" facilities, and 3) ACH (formerly Visteon) workers, making half as much money and shit for bene's. The Company, hereupon known as the Greedy Bastards, want us to be divided, and screw each other over in any conceivable way. The Unionist, which so very few of us really are, wants the old equal pay for equal work, which is so 1900's. Most of us are just scared shitless and willing to do anything to hold on to our paycheck, whether it be at 28 or 14 dollars per hour. It's times like these that test what kind of Man or Woman you truly are. Are you willing to throw that kid who works next to you, or on the afternoon shift, under the bus to keep you 28 bucks/hr? Are you willing to make a stand and say this stuff has gone too far, and that the "United" auto workers should be just that, United? What's the worse thing that could happen? You could lose your job. And if you lost your job defending the right to collective bargaining, the right for equal pay for equal work, the right for everyone in the "Union" to be treated, payed, and respected the same be the worst thing to ever happen to you? I, for one, don't think so. It's time to step up and confront the bastards that are trying to rip us apart on petty stuff. Stand up for these kids who need to make as much money as you do. Stand up for these kids who are getting the shaft thanks mostly to your UNION, our beloved UAW. Stand up for what you know is right, and be against what you know is wrong. It's not brain science or rocket surgery. We're all just people, and we're all the same. Press on. Sincerely, Silly old me.
3. I'm still looking for the little barn behind the big barn behind the Saline Plant! Some of you all should be on a good fiction writing site, seriously. There's a lot of talented scenarioists in the Blue Oval News membership. B)

Hey DeFlep, good to hear from you. Personally I'm hoping to stay at Saline for the next 14 years because I don't believe in straining any muscles unless it's absolutely nessecary. However, I don't think that's gonna pan out... As an alternative, I'd like to return to that plant in Flat Rock that FoMoCo bought for several Billion Dollars, whatever it is named in the future! Making Mustangs and Lincolns would ROCK. Making Mazda 3's and taking that away from Hiroshima or Mexico or whomever would ROCK. Having to go to MAP or DTP or any of these places no one has much good to say about would NOT ROCK!!! But now, in February, ain't nobody knows, at least what's talking! I thinks we'll be working together sooner than later, at least in a best case scenerio. Peace out.
6. Phone Dan's Tavern uptown and have the bartender fetch em. Union Reps aren't that hard to find, if you know where they are!!! :tequila:

Mazda will let us know mid year what they have come up with for the Flat Rock location. Ford isn't saying anything to anybody at least that I know of. I, personally, am at Saline trying to keep my nose clean, and it's cold season. Will I ever be going back to the land of flat rocks, or am I destined to drift nomadically around the ford empire, just lucky to have a job (as the wise ones say...)? If we are only 30some thousand strong as uaw represented Ford/ACH workers, shouldn't there be enough spots for all of us somewhere? Why can't we just get someone with a good calculator and a decent senority list to work this stuff out and stop all this foolish drama? Why does the head of our union where those glasses? :shades: If anyone has any ideas about these wacked out queries, do reply.. :beatdeadhorse: Love, DaveyB
8. can I get yer neighbors phone number? I sure could use a hundred bucks.?
9. As a fellow former 898 member I can reveal this: most of them are made out of some sort of cardboard compound. Beyond that I'm sworn to secrecy. :ninja:
10. I, risking life, limb, and a 13 year old mini-van, somehow managed to get to Saline from Milan on a one track path made by someone with one of those big old Pick-ups(I like to think it was an F-350, but who knows?). For this risk I was reward by being loaned out to another department, which I don't much like, and then paid nothing extra for making my way through the snow. One guy I know did get paid an extra 8, but only after filing a grievance. Isn't there one policy for all facilities? Shouldn't it be the same in each location? Why am I paying money each month to MY union and get so close to nothing in return? Does anyone know why the sky is blue? (oops, carried away there...) Lesson learned: The effort isn't worth it. And that's a sad lesson indeed.
11. If you read the recent post for "Layoffs?" you will learn that Blue Oval Forums is no place for rumors. :shades: This just in: Blue Oval Forums will be going away due to no allowable content... :blah: It's been fun...
12. Can't we all just get along? I heard a rumor that we can't. But I promise not to mention it in the blue oval forums. oops.

That one NEVER gets old Marv...and Mr. Wild, my Ford seniority date is in april, 1995. Kinda in the who knows land of one shift seniority at AutoAlliance. Personally, I hope to get a better gig than the "7,000" folks to be hired in the next few years, a number that seems more like a bargaining in the press number than anything else, unless there's one heck of a buyout offer come September...I guess we just wait and see on that one. :pig:

Thank you, Pioneer, for your informed position. You other fellas missed the point, I guess.
15. Rumors are what this here "forum" is sposed to be about. What do you all think or what have you all heard about what's going on out there? I work at Saline, aka I'll never have it this easy ever again, and am loaned from AAI, aka we don't know what the hell is going on. Is my job at Saline ACH, nee Visteon, nee Ford, up at the end of the contract? Will AAI ever be sourced again by the Japanese or the Ford Fambly? Is there life after 50? Inquiring minds want to know. :reading:
16. Best wishes to you for a quick, well too late for that, um, more timely resolution to your problem. It's just wrong that it would take that long. Thanks for seeing it through, and here's to a future where OUR union works FOR us and WITH us... :shades:
17. My line at Saline ACH is a "straight eight." We get two 20 minute breaks( 8 hours times 5 minutes/hour =40 minutes) plus a 20 minute paid lunch break. I'm thinking this should be the standard deal. If not, I don't know why...
18. As usual, Grim is correct. Whilst the lower tier wage crap is just that, crap, time will tell, and the future is the future, and it bodes well for those that aren't grim... Times have changed, and right now, times are weird. The future, for what it's worth, will be better for those of us that are left behind, badaboom, and eventually we WILL achieve equal work for equal pay. Unless, of course, the companies just decide to chuck us all and go with the non-union model that pervades the Southern States and their German und Japanese companies. God help us all... :rip:
19. The saddest bit of all this is not republicans against the uaw, but it's the uaw members against the uaw. There's no rule you gotta be a liberal to be in the uaw. Just have a job with the detroit three and some other companies. But having said that, if you are bashing the UAW, your representation to the Company you work at, FoMoCo for most of us, then you're just in the wrong. Ford Motor doesn't care if you live or die. You're just a body filling a spot. Republican, Democrat, Socialist or Unitarian, they could care less (or is it couldn't care less?). Without the UAW between yourself and the Company, you're just cannon fodder to used up and discarded. That some fundamental stuff, and If you don't get that, it might be best if you get out. One workers opinion.
20. Vote early and often then, as they say in Chicago. We all appreciate that we have different opinions, political slants, eye colors, etc., but the point made is that you might stick with one thread. There do seem to be a number of them. I've no wish to banish you, this all or nothing poll rigamarole, just don't be a, um, thread-hog. p.s. I think marvin the messy is a closet liberal. Like it says way back in Shakespeare, "I think he doth protest too much." Or not. I don't know...
21. Growning up Baptist, I always personally believed the anti-Christ would be from the south. Just me. This Mitchell McConnell fella has me getting some heavy de javu (and I don't mean no "dance club"). Some scary stuff these folk be saying. Watch yer back, front, top, and especially bottom...
22. Sometime I, too, hear ringing sounds and voices in my head. Usually it's the alarm clock set to the radio. But not always... :yup:
23. I myself drive a 2003 Focus SE 6. It's amazing what you can find on the floor at an auto factory. Took that discarded Mazda 6 six home, popped it on the old blue bomber, and there ya go, a one of a kind original! :blah: :blah: :blah:
24. Toyotas don't kill people, silly rumors do! I've made Mazda's. Why not Toyota stuff? Just get my UAW folks there first to work out the details, and I'm good. But I gotta make at least 16 buck an hour.... :shades:
