  1. Dick D'around is our plant manager, I think.
  2. This plant is just excitement every day. Currently losing folks transferring to other plants as we wind down to one shift coming up in early April. The Pandora's Box opened with the advent of two tiers, no wait, three, let's say 4 or more tiers all with different rules and regulations has landed smack dab in Flat Rock Michigan. The company, the Union, the legacies, the others. It's a freaking zoo. Good luck to all the kids that are being jerked around. May you land on your feet. And may you one day get the union representation you deserve.
  3. It's true. We kinda like screwing ourselves. It's getting to be a tradition! So don't say we won't screw ourselves, kid, cause we already have! And got no pay raise to prove it!
  4. My prediction is that after the new contract is settled we will all be working. Which is a good thing. Hours TBD.
  5. I might be missing something (I usually am!), but since they're hiring kids these days for low wages and crappy 'benifits', why not run 8 hour shifts all the time? It can't be that much cheaper to not do this, can it? Did I mention I'm usually missing something?
  6. Dunkman. That would be awesome. More people working, more people paying Union Dues (except for the clueless RTW people!), and a chance to work with dignity (8 Hours) and not gasping for air and neglecting my family. We should all be able to work 40 hours a week and make enough money to live a decent life. The Union was begun in part to give workers a way to NOT have to work a bizillion hours a year to make ends meet. We're all just people doing the best we can. Even Billy Fords and them are rumored to be actual people, doing the best they can. They're just doing the best they can to squeeze every penny they can out of us instead of paying a decent wage to their workers like old Henry did back in the day. I think he should come back to life and have a talking to with them!
  7. Dude. You need to post this as a new topic dealy. This is the TRUTH about what happened when we 'renegotiated'.
  8. Well thanks for all the comments! We have the full two shifts working 10.5 hour days, including 2 of 3 Saturdays most of the time. Things seem to be going well for the company at FRAP. I'm beginning to lag a bit working all those hours, but we're doing what we do. We gave Ford the ability to survive "Without Taxpayer Money", and now it's time for Ford to give a little, or a Lot, back. In my opinion it's just BAD business to keep screwing over the folks that make your product which makes THEM a LOT of MONEY! Can I get an amen?
  9. Our money is Coming from the new Mustangs, so you go, Cobra!
  10. Thanks for the 'Young Brother'. At my age he's a fond memory!
  11. it's pointless for you to try and figure Ford out! (at least you got this part right.)
  12. We are now 2 shifts at FRAP, building USA Fusions (!), and we vote any way we want to Sir. My idea of parity is to boost everyone to 30 bucks or so and give the kids some benefits. They can't live with mom and pops forever...
  13. If the IUAW needs more cash (and who doesn't?), I humbly assert that the answer just might be to organize more people, gain membership, and stop making deals with the devil that leave part of our work force underpaid and under represented. The whole 2nd tier deal was stupid to begin with and it's stupid still. Ford Motor Company is a cash cow and the udders are working just fine, as long as you are a stockholder. If you're the person slapping them cars together, you are a dime a dozen (5 cents for you new kids!). The whole point of the Union is to bargain for the workers as one. Now that the 'Union' is made up of two or more levels of compensated employees, I don't know how we can call it a Union. I think we've taken a misstep with the 2 tier stuff, and we need now more than ever to fix that. I can't complain about the UAW though, because without it, none of us would be making any money at all, and I, personally, would have been fired any number of times... Ladies and gents, let's get our stuff together, and bring home the bacon in 2015. It's time to regroup and kick some ass.
  14. Capacity and efficiency also come into play? All these workers, albeit lots of them getting messed over on the whole wage/benefit thing, to make 100 cars per day? It seems our potential capacity has got to be WAY bigger than one more car in the mix is going to fill? I'm just curious about it, not worried or whatever. One Ford is confusing. UAW-Ford is beyond confusing. I think I'll put my earplugs back in now...
