  1. ............Respect back to you Brother The republicans are good at "trigger'' issues or "emotional reaction". Guns, gays and immigration are a farce and nothing will change (Obama never came and got my guns). I posted the voting record tool for you above. I hope you opened it and noticed the destructive path of republican voting........... Maybe you will have a different perspective when you retire about these terrible voting records of republicans. They vote for elites and business and shit on the working class and seniors. Danger lurks when the Senate, Congress and President are all republican. Look at Michigan--> Same scenario. Republican majority raised taxes, new taxes on retirees, raised auto registration, state taxes, gas tax and passed the savings on to rich and businesses.............. Our social security is at risk with a republican majority,,,,,,,,,,, heaven help us if trump is elected Please use the link above from the afl-cio on voting records, republicans never vote for the working class God Bless
  2. ........sorry no, just a retiree. District Committeeman mid-1990s,
  3. You can see with this voting record tool> http://www.aflcio.org/Legislation-and-Politics/Legislative-Voting-Records http://www.aflcio.org/Legislation-and-Politics/Legislative-Voting-Records .........how republicans vote to destroy workers rights, labor issues, cut overtime rules, eliminate collective bargaining rights, eliminate social security, remove minimum wage laws etc................ trump and republicans are not the "lesser evil", they build their campaign to trick the weak-minded to vote for their elite agenda. As Walter Reuther was correct, "what unions gain in collective bargaining, unions can lose it all in the legislative halls". Unions base their endorsements on voting records, not empty promises of building walls, stopping trade and exporting 5 million illegals

  7. if you are foolish enough to believe Trump cares about trade pacts yet manufactures his clothing line in mexico and his hotel goods in China, crosses picket lines, hires scabs instead of building trades and has been an enemy of unions for years.................... Says we are overpaid and our jobs will be sent to low waged, southern republican states (with tax incentives) that hold down living wages and beg for our jobs back at lower wages with no benefits. You deserve the full wrath of republican utopia of low wages, no benefits, no collective bargaining rights and a path to destroying unions God help this country if trump the buffoon is elected
  8. I received the $8,500 signing bonus + a $1,500 profit sharing pull ahead in December. I expect the $1,500 will be deducted from the profit sharing total ($3.97 multiplier). 2011 agreement had the same pull ahead benefit and will probably work the same as 2011 profit sharing/signing bonus scenario. Thankful for the pull ahead as most trades paid off FICA back in the summer so the $10,000 bonus was taxed much, much lower. Hope they do the pull ahead again in 2019---
  9. Get used to the ups and downs of the auto industry. I was laid off more than I worked for the first 5 years of employment. The UAW does a pretty good job now a days with keeping us working. I know many trades that were laid off starting with the 2008 bush economic meltdown through 2011. The UAW was able to keep most trades working temporary in different units until they could be placed permanently. Buckle up for a bumpy ride if you are low seniority....................... we are in the 6th year of economic expansion and history shows every 7 years a recession boils up and shifts get laid off. Hold on tight and be thankful the UAW can negotiate voluntary employment in different units until permanent placement. Back in the "old days" we had "sub credits" and no opportunity for voluntary temporary assignment,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, basically ran out of sub credits and unemployment in 6 months and no income or benefits. Temporary UAW negotiated opportunities are a blessing to keep employment and benefits.
  10. The UAW negotiated profit sharing multiplier is $3.97 per every hour worked/compensated. Figure out all hours worked/compensated last year (2015) and multiply by $3.97 and you will have your total------------- our yearly profit sharing bonus will be payable in March.
  11. Fact of the matter, nobody reads the language. Workingstiff would have the answer if read the language. I dont expect a page #, section # volume# nor any logicaal answer because NOBODY reads the language
  12. Great, you read it............. good start. Can you tell me volume, article and section #?
  13. Heres a novel idea,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, read the contract. The formula has not changed. Compensated hours are defined in the contract for profit sharing
  14. Pull ahead was done in the 2011 contract as well to get the total to $10,000 and I remember it was popular and we were thankful for the pull ahead. They obviously did the same this time since it was well received and we expected the pull ahead Most of the trades (me included) love the pull ahead since we had our FICA paid off since July and the tax was minimal You must be a new hire and not here in 2011 when the same pull ahead happened............. Never seen so much crying on these forums over cash in our pocket............ no wonder the public hates our good wages, benefits, bonuses, profit sharing, paid vacations and paid holidays
